Overview Birch Helix Mattress

Helix, an online mattress manufacturer that sells directly to consumers, is well-known because of its sleep study. This quiz will determine which mattress is best for you. It takes into account your weight, preferred sleep position, and personal sleeping preferences. There are seven options in the Helix series that can be used to meet different preferences. Birch Helix Mattress

Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight The manufacturer’s softest versions are Helix Sunset or Helix Moonlight. Helix Midnight is one example of a medium model. Helix Dusk is another. Helix Sunset The most often used models are Helix Twilight, Helix Dawn, and Helix Plus. Helix Plus and Helix Twilight are the best-selling models in the Helix line.

The Sunset is produced by Helix. Helix kept side sleepers in mind when creating the Sunset, Midnight and Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk, Dawn and Dawn were created with stomach and back sleepers as consideration. The Plus is specially designed for people who are larger. Helix creates each mattress to fit specific weight categories and sleeping positions. However, it may be appreciated by some who like its feel.

Each model, with the exception of the Plus, comes in both the normal and Luxe editions. Optional, the update expands the coil system in order to provide zonal Lumbar Support to improve spinal alignment. This is accomplished by supporting the hips while allowing the shoulders to descend farther. The Luxe edition of the quilt is used on the top to give the cushion a plush feel. The Tencel cover promotes ventilation into the mattress while assisting in the removal of moisture. The upgrade comes with a 15-year warranty, in addition to the standard 10-year guarantee.

The Dawn, Dusk and Midnight versions, Sunset, Moonlight, Sunset, Twilight, and Midnight versions are each 12 inches thick. The luxury versions are 14 inch thick. Plus is also 13 inches thick. Helix mattresses might require large pockets, as they could be viewed as high-profile.

We’ll examine the features, construction, and reviews of each of these Helix mattresses. We’ll also highlight some of the possible benefits so you can choose which model suits you best.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses perform well at preventing movement. Many movements are absorbed by the foam layers. The comfort layers’ latex like polyfoam are springier that ordinary memory foam. Because of the springiness emanating from the coil’s centre, you may be able detect your partner’s movements throughout a night.

Dusk, Sunset have the highest motion absorption of any Helix model due to their memory foam layers.

The Plus has two comfort layers as well, which prevent the majority of coil motions from reaching the springy coil core of the mattress.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. You might be able to sleep more easily if your partner is not around.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses offer pressure relief. This is partially due to the pocketsed coils, memory foam and polyfoam layers. The foam enables deep relaxation and self-cradling, which may help take some of the pressure off of pressure points like the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers and anyone less than 130 lbs. have special needs. Softer mattresses can better meet their needs. For those who like to sleep on their stomach or back or who weigh more than 230 pounds, however, firmer mattresses are recommended.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Due to Twilight and Dawn’s more intense sensations, sleepers will be less likely to experience pressure points. This can reduce the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses are known for heating you while you sleep. This is because it holds heat throughout the night. The coils in these mattresses allow for air to flow through them, which helps to reduce heat loss.

The Dawn is more comfortable because of its firmness and lack sinkage. Two cooling covers are included with the Plus to further aid with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Every Helix model comes with an encasement which is reinforced within the core of the coil. This reduces sinkage when someone lies on their back or sits on their bed edge. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

For instance, due to their sturdy design, the Dawn and Twilight provide the best edge support. Their sturdy construction provides excellent edge support. Dusk, Midnight, or Plus are sufficient to support the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight, Sunset and Sunset are the most luxurious models. You’ll feel less sinking while you sleep or be close to the edge. They have the lowest edge support of all Helix mattress models.

Ease of Movement

The model’s overall quality is what separates the ease of movement from any other class. The deep sinking Moonlight and setting sun make it difficult to walk on this surface.

Twilight models and Dawn models feel more firm and pleasant. It is considerably simpler to shift about and get out of bed with the Dawn and Twilight models’ powerful pushback against the body.

The Line with Plus’s plush comfort system with two layers may make it more difficult to move, but the firmness of the mattress still allows for enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses are known for their coil cores which provide some spring and bounce. Many couples enjoy Helix mattress sex. Depending on the design of the mattress, the degree of conforming and sinking provided by the foam layers may enhance or detract from the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. In terms of sex, the ideal times are dusk to midnight and plus. However, moonlight or sunsets will be more difficult. These models have plush, soft surface that could restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models start with the same standard amount of “new-mattress scent” that all foam mattresses have.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix offers many different mattress options.

Helix mattresses that are hybrids have more air circulation because of their coil cores. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

If the scent bothers you, you could choose to leave the mattress exposed in a well-ventilated space for a few hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideThe key to a good night’s sleep is finding the right mattress that provides the perfect balance of support and cushioning. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Mattresses with a “medium” feel, closer to the soft end of the range, are often preferred by side sleepers.

The Dusk and Moonlight models’ plush padding will be appreciated by side bed sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

Side sleepers between 130 and 220 pounds can use the Midnight or Dusk, which are firm and comfortable. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

If you’re a side sleeper and weigh more than 230 pounds, the Plus or, to a lesser degree, the Twilight are your best options. The firmer feel of these models will prevent side sleepers who are heavier than 230 pounds from sinking too deeply into their beds. Helix Dynamic Faam layers give cushioning and bounce. Plus models are designed for larger people. Foam comfort layers provide the necessary support to alleviate pressure on the shoulders.

Back Sleepers

The same goes for back sleepers. However, they need more support and contouring than side sleepers.

For back sleep to be comfortable, you will need to provide support and firmness in the lumbar region. This is important to avoid sinking too deep and creating spinal misalignment. You can ensure that your spine is fairly straight by placing your back on the mattress.

This is why side sleepers prefer mattresses that are firmer, but not as rigid as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the best option for back sleepers under 130 pounds, depending on their needs. It provides the right amount of support and cushioning that this sleeping position requires.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. Both offer sufficient cushioning for the spine and excellent support for the lower part of the back. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

For those who weigh more over 230 pounds who sleep on their backs, the Plus, Twilight, and Dawn are great options. To prevent hips from sinking into the mattress, they provide great support for the weight range.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach sleepers tend to be more prone to sinking than other positions, putting greater pressure on their mattresses. If they sink too far, they run the risk of pushing their spines out their normal alignment. This can lead to later aches, and pains. Stomach sleepers will need a mattress with more support, firmness, and enough push-back so that their backs align.

Helix models with a firmer surface will be the most comfortable for stomach sleepers. This is because they require a level surface for proper spinal alignment. Those who weigh more than 130 pounds who want to sleep well might choose the Plus and Dawn. Due to its hardness and support, the central area of the mattress is strong enough to prevent excessive weight loss. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

Because it feels medium-firm, The Midnight is ideal for stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 lbs. For heavier people, however, the Midnight will sink too deep. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
