Overview Do You Flip Helix Mattress

Helix, a mattress manufacturer selling direct to consumers, is known for its sleep studies. This quiz helps you determine the ideal mattress by analyzing your body, weight, sleeping style, and preferred sleeping position. To accommodate different sleeping preferences, the Helix series offers seven variants. Do You Flip Helix Mattress

Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight The manufacturer’s softest versions are Helix Sunset or Helix Moonlight. Helix Midnight and Helix Dusk are two examples of medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn, Helix Plus, and Helix Plus are three of the most commonly used models. Helix Plus are the strongest models in this line.

Helix is responsible for the Sunset. Helix considered side sleepers when designing the Sunset and Midnight, as well as the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight and Dawn, as well as Dusk & Dawn, were designed with stomach and back sleeping in mind. The Plus is especially made for those who are bigger. Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

Each model, with the exception of the Plus, comes in both the normal and Luxe editions. Optional, the update expands the coil system in order to provide zonal Lumbar Support to improve spinal alignment. This is accomplished by supporting the hips while allowing the shoulders to descend farther. To give the cushion a plush feeling, the Luxe version of the top quilt is applied to it. Tencel cover allows for better ventilation of the mattress, while also removing moisture. The upgrade comes with a 15-year warranty, in addition to the standard 10-year guarantee.

The Dawn, Dusk Midnight and Sunset versions are 12 inches thick. Twilight’s luxurious version is 14 inches. Additionally, the Plus measures 13 inches in thickness. Because Helix mattresses can be considered high-profile, it may require substantial pockets.

We will be examining the construction and reviews for each Helix mattress. We’ll also be listing some of the potential benefits to help determine which model might work best for your needs.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses have a great track record of preventing movement. Many movements are absorbed by the foam layers. The comfort layers’ latex like polyfoam are springier that ordinary memory foam. Due to the springiness emanating form the coil’s core, it is possible to sense your partner moving throughout the night.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

Two comfort layers make up the Plus. They prevent most coil motions reaching the core of the springy coils.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. Your ability to Sleep is likely to be less affected by your partner’s movements during nighttime, dawn, and after midnight.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. The foam enables deep relaxation and self-cradling, which may help take some of the pressure off of pressure points like the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers and anyone less than 130 lbs. have special needs. Softer mattresses can better meet their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus was designed specifically for those with more weight and may be effective in relieving pressure points for those who fall into this category. Twilight and Dawn will have a stronger sensation which will make it more difficult for sleepers to feel pressure points. This decreases the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. The coils in these mattresses allow for air to flow through them, which helps to reduce heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. To aid heat dissipation, two cooling covers are included in the Plus.

Edge Support

Each Helix model features an encasement that’s strengthened in the coil’s core. The coil’s core is strengthened, so there is less sinkage when the person sits or lies on the edge of their bed. Every model has a different level support due to its structure and stiffness.

For instance, due to their sturdy design, the Dawn and Twilight provide the best edge support. Their sturdy construction provides excellent edge support. Dusk or Midnight, plus provide adequate support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight or Sunset are the most expensive models. This means that you will sink less when you sleep, and you can sit closer to the edge. They provide the least amount of edge support of all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. Because of the sinking Moonlight and setting sun, it is very difficult to walk on the surface.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. The powerful pushback against the body of Dawn and Twilight models makes it easier to move around and get out from bed.

The Line with the Plus has a two-layer comfort system. Although it is a bit more difficult than other hybrids to move on, the bed’s firmness allows for sufficient movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses have coil cores that provide spring and bounce, which couples often enjoy when having sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. Also, while dusk, night, and plus are great times to have sex, moonlight and sunset can make it more difficult. These models have plush, soft surface that could restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models are initially equipped with the standard “new mattress fragrance” which is common for all foam mattresses.

The smell is usually considered safe and disappears after a few days. Helix offers a number of various mattress options.

Helix mattresses can be described as hybrids because their coil cores make it easier for air to move around the entire bed. As a result, the odors will dissipate quicker than they would with an all-foam mattress.

If the smell is bothersome, you might leave the mattress out in a well-ventilated place for a few days.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. To relieve strain and align the spine, the hips and shoulders need to be free to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers often prefer mattresses that have a “medium” feel. This is closer to the soft side of the range.

Side sleepers under 130 pounds will love the plush padding of the Moonlight and Dusk models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

Side sleepers between 130 and 220 pounds can use the Midnight or Dusk, which are firm and comfortable. Most people in this weight range will love the models’ combination for powerful contouring as well as support.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. This model’s firmer feel will help side sleepers not sink too deeply into their bed. Helix Dynamic Foam gives the Plus cushioning and bounce. And, because the Plus is built for larger individuals, the foam comfort layers provide the required cradling that relieves pressure from the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

The same goes for back sleepers. However, they need more support and contouring than side sleepers.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. You can ensure that your spine is fairly straight by placing your back on the mattress.

This is why back sleepers often choose mattresses that are firmer than those preferred by side sleepers but not as stiff as those preferred by stomach sleepers.

The Midnight could be the best choice for back sleepers less than 130 lbs, depending on their requirements. It offers the ideal amount support and cushioning to this sleeping position.

People who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds have many options. Back sleepers that fall into this weight range might do well in the Twilight or the Plus. Both offer sufficient cushioning for the spine and excellent support for the lower part of the back. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. These pillows provide excellent support and help to keep hips from sinking into your mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach sleepers put greater strain on their mattresses and have a propensity to sink deeper than other positions. If they fall too far, they can push their spines out from their normal alignment. It could cause aches or pains in the future. The bottom line is that stomach sleepers need a mattress which is firmer, more supportive and offers enough support to align their backs.

Helix models with a firmer surface will be the most comfortable for stomach sleepers. This is because they require a level surface for proper spinal alignment. For those over 130lbs who wish to get a good night’s sleep, the Plus and Dawn may be a better choice. The central region of the mattress is sturdy enough to reduce the possibility of excessive weight loss thanks to their hardness and support. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

The Midnight is appropriate for stomach sleepers under 130 pounds since it feels medium-firm. However, heavier people will sink too far. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
