Does Helix Mattress Need A Boxspring

Overview Does Helix Mattress Need A Boxspring

Helix, an online mattress manufacturer that sells directly to consumers, is well-known because of its sleep study. This quiz will help you choose the right mattress based upon your body weight, preferred position and sleeping style. There are seven options in the Helix series that can be used to meet different preferences. Does Helix Mattress Need A Boxspring

Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight are the softest versions available from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight is one example of a medium model. Helix Dusk is another. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn, Helix Plus, and Helix Plus are three of the most commonly used models. Helix Plus and Helix Twilight are the best-selling models in the Helix line.

Helix makes the Sunset. Helix considers side sleepers when designing the Sunsets, Midnights, and Twilight. Lunar Light, Dusk and Dawn were designed with stomach- and back sleepers at heart. The Plus was designed specifically for those with larger bodies. Helix makes each mattress with specific weights and sleep positions in mind. But, for some people, the Plus may feel great.

With the exception of Plus, every model is available in both the Luxe and normal editions. The optional update increases the coil system to provide zonallumbar support. This will help in better spinal alignment. This works by supporting the hips and allowing the shoulders to drop further. To give it a luxurious feel, the cushion’s top is quilted with Luxe Edition. Tencel covers encourage ventilation and aid in moisture removal. In addition to the 10-year standard guarantee, the upgrade includes a 15 year warranty.

Standard versions of the Dawn and Dusk, Midnight, Moonlight and Sunset are 12 inches thick. The luxurious versions are 14 inches. Plus is also 13 inches thick. Helix mattresses might require large pockets, as they could be viewed as high-profile.

We will review the specifications, construction, and customer reviews for each Helix mattress. We’ll also highlight some of the possible benefits so you can choose which model suits you best.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses perform well at preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. The comfort layers’ latex like polyfoam are springier that ordinary memory foam. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

Dusk, Sunset have the highest motion absorption of any Helix model due to their memory foam layers.

The Plus has two comfort layers as well, which prevent the majority of coil motions from reaching the springy coil core of the mattress.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

This reduces the amount of noise that is transmitted across the mattress. Your ability to Sleep is likely to be less affected by your partner’s movements during nighttime, dawn, and after midnight.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses are known for their ability to reduce pressure. This is due in part to the pockets of coils and memory foam. The foam enables deep relaxation and self-cradling, which may help take some of the pressure off of pressure points like the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers and those under 130 lbs. are more demanding. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The moonlight, sunset, sunrise, and night are the best times to relieve pressure. This is partly due to the plusher surfaces. The Plus is made especially for those who weigh more, and it may effectively alleviate pressure spots for people who sleep in this category. Due to Twilight and Dawn’s more intense sensations, sleepers will be less likely to experience pressure points. This can reduce the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses have a reputation for making you feel hot while you sleep. It often holds on to heat all night. These mattresses have coils that allow air to circulate through them to counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness and lack of sinkage help it sleep cooler than the other types. To further reduce heat loss, the Plus comes with two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Every Helix model comes with an encasement which is reinforced within the core of the coil. This reduces sinkage when someone lies on their back or sits on their bed edge. Every model has a different level support due to its structure and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. Because to their sturdy build, they also provide superb edge support. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

The most luxurious models are Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset, so you’ll sink less while you sleep or sit close to the edge. They offer the most edge support among all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s ability to move is the main distinguishing feature. Because of the sinking Moonlight and setting sun, it is very difficult to walk on the surface.

Twilight and Dawn models, on the other hand, have a firmer, more pleasant sensation. It’s much easier to get up and move about with the Dawn/Twilight models’ strong pushback against your body.

The two-layer comfort system of the Line with the Plus may make the bed a little harder to move about on than other hybrids, but the firmness still allows for a sufficient amount of movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The amount of conforming or sinking that the foam layers provide can influence the sexual experience depending on how it is made.

Because of their smooth surfaces, the Helix Dawn’s and Twilight’s make it easy to move about. This makes them great for couples. Also, while dusk, night, and plus are great times to have sex, moonlight and sunset can make it more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces which may limit motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models are initially equipped with the standard “new mattress fragrance” which is common for all foam mattresses.

The smell is usually considered safe and disappears after a few days. Helix has many mattress options.

Because Helix mattresses are hybrids, their coil cores provide more air to move across the whole bed. Therefore, the odors of Helix mattresses will dissipate more quickly than with all-foam mattresses.

You can leave the mattress open for a few hours if the smell bothers you.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. To align the spine and alleviate strain, the hips should not be pressed against the mattress. Side sleepers often prefer mattresses that have a “medium” feel. This is closer to the soft side of the range.

Side bed sleepers weighing less than 130 lbs will appreciate the soft padding in the Moonlight or Dusk models. The Moonlight is for those who enjoy a more comfortable environment.

The Midnight and Dusk models are best for side sleepers weighing between 130-230 pounds. These sleepers will appreciate the models’ combination of strong contouring and support.

The Plus and, to a lesser extent, the Twilight, are the best options if you are a side sleeper who weighs more over 230 pounds. The firmer feel of these models will prevent side sleepers who are heavier than 230 pounds from sinking too deeply into their beds. Helix Dynamic Foam gives the Plus cushioning and bounce. And, because the Plus is built for larger individuals, the foam comfort layers provide the required cradling that relieves pressure from the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

Back sleeping typically requires a bit extra support and hardness, especially in the lumbar region to prevent sinking too deeply and causing spinal misalignment. Your spine should be balanced by the position of your back on a bed.

Back sleepers tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than side sleepers, but not as stiff or flexible as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the best option for back sleepers under 130 pounds, depending on their needs. It provides the ideal amount of cushioning and support for this sleeping posture.

There are many options for those who weigh between 130-230 pounds and between 130-230 pounds. The Plus or Twilight might be a good choice for back sleepers who are in this weight range. They both provide sufficient plushness to support the spine and the lower back. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

For those who weigh more over 230 pounds who sleep on their backs, the Plus, Twilight, and Dawn are great options. They provide excellent support to the weight range and prevent your hips from sinking in the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Since torsos normally bear the majority of a person’s weight. Stomach sleepers are more likely to put stress on their mattresses, and sink deeper than others. If they fall too far, it can cause their spines to shift out of alignment. Later aches and pains may result from this. Stomach sleepers will need a mattress with more support, firmness, and enough push-back so that their backs align.

The firmer Helix versions will be most comfortable for stomach sleepers, who require a level surface to preserve proper spinal alignment and alignment. For those over 130lbs who wish to get a good night’s sleep, the Plus and Dawn may be a better choice. Because they are strong and supportive, the central portion of the mattress will reduce the chance of you losing weight. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

Because it feels medium-firm, The Midnight is ideal for stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 lbs. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
