This quiz will help you choose the right mattress based upon your body weight, preferred position and sleeping style. The Helix series includes of seven primary variants to accommodate various sleeping preferences. Exchange Helix Mattress

Helix Sunset, Helix Moonlight, and Helix Sunset are the most soft versions. Helix Midnight is one example of a medium model. Helix Dusk is another. Helix Sunset The most often used models are Helix Twilight, Helix Dawn, and Helix Plus. Helix Plus and Helix Twilight are the best-selling models in the Helix line.

The Sunset is produced by Helix. Helix has side sleepers in mind while designing the Sunset, the Midnight, and the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk and Dawn are designed with stomach sleepers and backs in mind. The Plus is designed especially for larger individuals. Helix creates each mattress to fit specific weight categories and sleeping positions. However, it may be appreciated by some who like its feel.

All models, except for the Plus edition, come in both the Luxe as well as the normal editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This allows the hips to be supported and the shoulders to sink further. The top of the cushion is quilted in the Luxe edition to give it a plusher feel. Tencel covers allow for ventilation to the mattress and help remove moisture. A 15-year warranty is included with the upgrade in addition to the normal 10-year guarantee.

The Dawn, Dusk Midnight and Sunset versions are 12 inches thick. Twilight’s luxurious version is 14 inches. Plus measures 13 inches. Since Helix mattresses may be high-profile, you might need to have large pockets.

We’ll review each Helix mattress, including its construction and reviews. We’ll also be listing some of the potential benefits to help determine which model might work best for your needs.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses perform well at preventing movement. Many movements are absorbed by the foam layers. The comfort layers’ latex-like polyfoam, however, is springier than ordinary memory foam. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

The memory foam layers and soft feel of the Helix models make the Dusk and Sunset absorb the most motion than any other models.

The Plus also has two comfort layers that prevent most coil movements from reaching the springy core of the mattress.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. Your ability to Sleep is likely to be less affected by your partner’s movements during nighttime, dawn, and after midnight.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses have a number of benefits, including pressure reduction. This can partly be attributed to the layers memory foam, polyfoam and pocketed coils. The foam is able to induce deep relaxation and self cradling, which can reduce pressure points like the hips. Side sleepers, or those who weigh less than 130 lbs., have different needs. are better met by the softer mattresses. Firmer mattresses would be a better choice for those who sleep on the stomach or back, or who are more than 230lbs.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus is specially designed for heavier sleepers and may reduce pressure points. Due to Twilight and Dawn’s more intense sensations, sleepers will be less likely to experience pressure points. This can reduce the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. These mattresses have coils that allow air to circulate through them to counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness and lack of sinkage help it sleep cooler than the other types. Two cooling covers are included with the Plus to further aid with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model features an encasement that’s strengthened in the coil’s core. It reduces sinkage when people sit or lay on the edges of their beds. Each model is different in terms of how supportive it provides edge support. This is due to the quality of its construction and stiffness.

Twilight and Dawn provide the best edge support because of their sturdy design. Due to their solid construction, they provide outstanding edge support. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight, Sunset and Sunset are the most luxurious models. You’ll feel less sinking while you sleep or be close to the edge. They provide the smallest amount of edge support than all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s quality primarily sets the ease of movement apart as a separate class. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models on the other side have a firmer, pleasanter sensation. With the powerful pushback of the body, Dawn and Twilight models make it much easier to get out of bed.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. Depending on the design of the mattress, the degree of conforming and sinking provided by the foam layers may enhance or detract from the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. Additionally, dusk, midnight, and plus are ideal times for sex, but moonlight and sunset will probably make things more difficult. These models may be restricted by their soft, plush surfaces.

Off-Gassing

Helix models start with the same standard amount of “new-mattress scent” that all foam mattresses have.

The smell is usually considered safe and disappears after a few days. Helix offers several mattress options.

Helix mattresses are hybrids. Their coil cores allow more air to circulate across the bed because they have multiple coils. This means that the odors from Helix mattresses will dissipate faster than they would from an all-foam one.

If the smell is bothersome, you might leave the mattress out in a well-ventilated place for a few days.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideTo sleep well on your side, you need a mattress that offers the right balance of support and cushioning. To relieve strain and align the spine, the hips and shoulders need to be free to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers are more comfortable with mattresses that feel “medium”, closer to the soft range.

Side sleepers under 130 pounds will love the plush padding of the Moonlight and Dusk models. The Moonlight is for those who enjoy a more comfortable environment.

The Midnight and Dusk models are best for side sleepers weighing between 130-230 pounds. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

If you’re a side sleeper and weigh more than 230 pounds, the Plus or, to a lesser degree, the Twilight are your best options. People who fall into this category of side sleepers will feel the models’ firmer feeling and not sink too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. You can ensure that your spine is fairly straight by placing your back on the mattress.

Back sleepers tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than side sleepers, but not as stiff or flexible as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight might be the best option for back-sleepers under 130 pounds depending on their needs. It provides the right amount of support and cushioning that this sleeping position requires.

There are many options for those who weigh between 130-230 pounds and between 130-230 pounds. Back sleepers that fall into this weight range might do well in the Twilight or the Plus. Both offer enough cushioning to cushion the spine, and support for the lower back. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

The Plus and Twilight mattresses are excellent options for those who weigh over 230lbs who sleep on the back. These pillows provide excellent support and help to keep hips from sinking into your mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

As the main weight bearing part of a person’s body, torsos are usually heavier. Stomach sleepers tend to be more prone to sinking than other positions, putting greater pressure on their mattresses. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. It can cause later aches and discomforts. The bottom line is that stomach sleepers need a mattress which is firmer, more supportive and offers enough support to align their backs.

Helix models with a firmer surface will be the most comfortable for stomach sleepers. This is because they require a level surface for proper spinal alignment. The Plus and Dawn are good options for those who weigh over 130 pounds and want to sleep well. Thanks to their support and hardiness, the central part of the mattress is strong enough not to cause excessive weight loss. So a cushion that’s comfortable will give stomach sleepers in this range the support they need.

The Midnight is appropriate for stomach sleepers under 130 pounds since it feels medium-firm. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight might be suitable for stomach sleepers with lighter weights, particularly those who weigh between 130-230 pounds.
