GhostBed Mattress Firmness And Feel
How firm is the GhostBed mattress?
In terms of firmness, we put the GhostBed at a medium on our scale. This means it has lots of pressure relief. This is crucial for those who sleep on their sides or with chronic pain. Even though GhostBed isn’t a particularly soft mattress, we consider it to have decent support, especially thanks to that latex-based foam layer.
Remember that firmness is somewhat subjective and is dependent on the body type of yours. We’ll come back to that later however, just remember that it’s a middle point in our scale.
How does the GhostBed feel?
While GhostBed is covered with an additional layer of Latex Foam, we consider that the whole bed feels like a blend of three different foams instead of feeling like that top foam layer.
It is a mixed-foam feeling. It’s surprising that the GhostBed mattress isn’t the fastest to bounce after being pressurized (if you press it down hard).
Typically, latex beds are spongy in nature that gives them great responsiveness however, it appears that the middle area of the memory foam layer is overruling that characteristic in the GhostBed.
GhostBed Mattress Construction
GhostBed is an all-foam mattress that is made up of polyfoam latex foam and memory foam. Broken down, you receive three layers (one one of every foam), as you can see in the side views below.
The foundation layer on the} GhostBed Mattress is 7.5″ of high-density polyurethane foam. Due to its thickness, you’ll get ample comfort from this mattress.
In the base of GhostBed mattress comprise 7.5″ of high-density polyurethane foam. Due to its thickness it will provide plenty of comfort from this mattress.
Next, we have} a 2″ layer of gel memory foam, which is supposed to help with temperature regulation and to act as a transition between the top and bottom layers.
Then, we’ll have a 2″ layer of gel memory foam that is designed to assist with temperature regulation and be a bridge between the two layers.
The top of the GhostBed mattress is a 1.5″ thickness of Aerated latex foam. Latex foam is a spongier-feeling material that allows for adequate airflow and provides the bed with bounce.
The top layer of The top of the GhostBed mattress is a 1.5″ layer of aerated latex foam. It is a more spongier material that permits good airflow and gives the bed some bounce.
The cover on the GhostBed is constructed of a polyester/viscose blend. It’s not anything exceptional, but we’ve no issues with it, other that it gets dirtier and more quickly than other covers. The cover can be removed (as are most mattress covers) however, it’s not machine washable, so we wouldn’t recommend you ever remove it. It’s not really necessary and can be quite a hassle. If you have to do some tidying–maybe you spilled your breakfast in bed–just grab a cloth and some hot water and mild detergent. Dab onto the spot until the spill comes out.

GhostBed Mattress Performance
Overall, we’ve found this to be true. Ghostbed mattress provides pretty good pressure relief, which is particularly important when you’re a side sleeper. This is due for the layer of memory foam that cradles your body to ease pressure points. Remember, anyone above 160 pounds will experience greater pressure relief than small people.
GhostBed doesn’t sleep hot in the traditional sense, but it doesn’t actually sleep cool, either. The company says their gel memory foam is supposed ensure that the mattress stays cooler and it may be, but it doesn’t keep the bed really cool to the touch.
We’re referring to the GhostBed as a mattress that is temperature neutral. It won’t make you overheat during the night and also will not cause you to feel cold. Additionally, the lighter you are and the less you rest on top of the mattress (and the more latex foam) and, as a result, the cooler you’ll feel. If you’re heavier then you’ll sink more and rest a little hotter.
Edge support is an essential mattress performance metric for people who sleep in beds. We all know the drill, sleeping with someone often means that one partner ends in the middle of the mattress while the other hogs the middle. That’s the reason edge support is important. Edge support
GhostBed has good edge support, so should this happen then at least the unfortunate sleeper won’t feel as if they’re about to fall off the bed.
Motion isolation is the term used to describe how well the mattress restricts cross-bed motion. Good motion isolation means that one partner’s tossing and turning will not be noticed by the other. GhostBed is a great way restricting the transfer of motion. You can sneak out of bed to watch reruns of late-night Seinfeld in case you want to do. Keep the volume low and your bedmate will sleep right through it.
Is GhostBed a good mattress for couples?
We would suggest this mattress is suitable for those who share their bed with a partner or maybe a large, well-loved pet. Two of the features we prefer to emphasize for couples are edge support along with motion management. The GhostBed mattress passes all our tests. We definitely recommend this mattress to couples.

GhostBed Review Verdict
GhostBed is our favorite mattress across the globe. However, it’s also comfortable and appropriate for everyone who sleeps. We can understand why so many people who are online seem to love it. We like the addition of latex foam for support. Not all beds come with it, and we believe it’s an absolute benefit.
It’s also around 1” thicker than the other similar foam beds and is priced at less than $1,200 for the queen-size (which isn’t difficult to beat when it comes to latex). Ghostbed Matress Protector
