GhostBed Mattress Firmness And Feel
How firm is GhostBed mattress? GhostBed mattress?
In terms of firmness, we place the GhostBed at a medium on our scale. This means it has ample pressure relief, which is essential for those who sleep on their sides or with chronic pain. Although GhostBed isn’t an especially firm mattress, we still consider it to have decent support, especially due to that latex-based foam layer.
Remember that the degree of firmness can be subjective and depends on your body type. We’ll come back to that later but for now, know that it’s a middle to us on the scale.
How does the GhostBed feel?
Although GhostBed is covered with an additional layer of latex foams, we actually think the bed as a whole appears to be a mixture of three different foams instead of being distinctly similar to it’s topmost layer.
It is an enveloping feel. Surprisingly, the GhostBed mattress is somewhat slow to bounce after being depressed (if you press down firmly).
Usually, latex beds have a sponginess to them that makes them extremely responsive however, it appears that the central area of the memory foam layer is trumping that characteristic in the GhostBed.
GhostBed Mattress Construction
GhostBed is an all-foam mattress made of polyfoam, memory foam , and latex foam. Broken down, you receive three layers (one one of every foam) as you see in the side views below.
The foundation layer on the} GhostBed Mattress comprises 7.5″ in high density polyurethane foam. Due to its thickness, you’ll get ample comfort from this mattress.
The base layer of the GhostBed mattress is 7.5″ in high density polyurethane foam. Because it’s that thick, you’ll get ample comfort from this mattress.
Next, we have} an additional 2″ layer of gel memory foam, that is designed to assist in temperature regulation as well as serve as a transition between the top and bottom layers.
Then, we’ll have two” layer of gel memory foam which is supposed to help with temperature regulation and to be a bridge between the two layers.
The top layer of the GhostBed mattress is an 1.5″ thick layer made of Aerated latex foam. Latex foam is a spongier-feeling material that allows for adequate airflow and gives the bed a bit of bounce.
The top of the GhostBed mattress is the top 1.5″ layer of Aerated Latex Foam. It is a more spongier material that permits good airflow and provides the bed with bounce.
The cover of the GhostBed is constructed of the blend of viscose and polyester. Honestly, it isn’t anything special, but we have no issues with it, other than it tends to get dirty more easily than some other covers. The cover can be removed (as is the case with most mattress covers), but it isn’t machine washable, which is why we don’t actually suggest that you ever take it off. It’s not really needed and is a bit of an inconvenience. If you do need to clean up–perhaps there was a spill from your breakfast in your bed. Just grab a towel and some warm water with mild detergent. Dab onto the spot until the spill comes out.

GhostBed Mattress Performance
Overall, we found that the Ghostbed mattress provides pretty good pressure relief — which is crucial for those who sleep on their sides. It’s due to the memory foam layer which is a good place to rest your body in to relieve pressure points. Remember, anyone above 160 pounds will feel greater pressure relief than smaller people.
GhostBed doesn’t sleep hot in the traditional sense, but it’s not really cool either. The company claims that their gel memory foam is designed to keep the bed cool and it may be however it doesn’t make the bed cool to the touch.
We consider the GhostBed to be a mattress with a temperature neutral. It won’t make you overheat during the night however, it also won’t make you feel cold. Also, the lighter you are and the less you rest on top of the mattress (and the more latex foam) and, as a result the cooler you’ll feel. If you’re heavier then you’ll sink more and sleep a bit warmer.
Edge support is an important measure of mattress performance for those who share beds. We all know the drill that sleeping with a partner often leads to one of the partners ending up pushed to the side of the mattress, while another takes up the middle. This is where edge support comes in. Edge support
GhostBed provides good edge support, so if that does happen it’s at least that unfortunate sleeper won’t feel as if they’re in danger of falling off the bed.
Motion isolation is the term used to describe how well the mattress can limit cross-bed motion. Motion isolation is a good thing because one partner’s twirling and tossing won’t be felt by the other. GhostBed does an excellent job of limiting the transfer of motion, so you can sneak out of bed to watch reruns of late-night Seinfeld If that’s what you’d like to do. Just keep the volume down and your friend will be asleep for the entire time.
Is GhostBed a good mattress for couples?
We would suggest this is a good mattress for people who sleep with a partner or maybe an animal that is large and well-loved. Two of the features we prefer to emphasize for couples are edge support and motion isolation. The GhostBed mattress is a winner in all our tests. We highly recommend this bed to couples.

GhostBed Review Verdict
GhostBed is our most-loved mattress across the globe. It’s a comfortable mattress and suitable for all sleeper types. We can understand why so many users on the internet appear to love it. We are pleased to see the addition of latex foam to provide support. Not all mattresses come with it, and we believe it’s an absolute benefit.
It’s also approximately 1 inch thicker than other comparable foam beds available and it costs less than $1200 for the queen-sized (which is expensive in the market for latex). Ghostbed Purple Casper
