Overview Helix Dual Extra Mattress Review

Helix, a direct to consumer mattress manufacturer, is known for its sleep research. This quiz will determine which mattress is best for you. It takes into account your weight, preferred sleep position, and personal sleeping preferences. To accommodate different sleeping preferences, the Helix series offers seven variants. Helix Dual Extra Mattress Review

Helix Sunset, Helix Moonlight, and Helix Sunset are the most soft versions. Helix Midnight, Helix Dusk and Helix Twilight are two examples for medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn, Helix Plus, and Helix Plus are three of the most commonly used models. The line’s firmest models are Helix Plus.

Helix is responsible for the Sunset. Helix has side sleepers in mind while designing the Sunset, the Midnight, and the Twilight. Lunar Light The Midnight, Dusk, and Dawn have been designed with stomach and back sleepers in mind. The Plus is especially made for those who are bigger. Helix has designed each mattress with specific weights in mind. Some people might also enjoy the way it feels.

Except for the Plus, all models are available in the normal and luxe editions. This update is optional and extends coil support to provide zonal back support, which aids in better spinal alignment. This allows the hips to be supported and the shoulders to sink further. To give it a luxurious feel, the cushion’s top is quilted with Luxe Edition. Tencel covers promote ventilation and moisture removal. Along with the 10-year guarantee, the upgrade also includes a 15-year warranty.

The Dawn, Dusk Midnight, Midnight Moonlight, Sunset and Twilight standard versions are 12 inches thick. While the luxurious versions measure 14 inches. Plus measures 13 inches. Helix mattresses might require large pockets, as they could be viewed as high-profile.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses are great at keeping you from moving. The foam layers absorb most movement. The comfort layers’ latex like polyfoam are springier that ordinary memory foam. Due to the coil’s springiness, you might be able to see your partner’s movements throughout their night.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

Two comfort layers make up the Plus. They prevent most coil motions reaching the core of the springy coils.

As a result, less vibration may travel over the surface of the mattress.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. Motion transmission is modest during moonlight, dawn, and midnight, which might lessen the impact of your partner’s movements on your ability to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses have a number of benefits, including pressure reduction. This can partly be attributed to the layers memory foam, polyfoam and pocketed coils. The foam allows deep relaxation and self-cradling which may reduce pressure on pressure points like the hips, shoulders and hips. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. Softer mattresses are more suitable for side sleepers and those who weigh less than 130 lbs. Firmer mattresses would be a better choice for those who sleep on the stomach or back, or who are more than 230lbs.

Because of their plusher surfaces, the moonlight, dusk-sunset, sunset and midnight provide the most effective pressure relief. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Dawn and Twilight’s harder sensation will result in higher resistance to pressure points on sleepers, which lessens the efficacy of these products in this region.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

The memory foam mattress has a reputation for making you feel heated while you sleep since it often captures and holds onto heat all night. The coils in these mattresses allow for air to flow through them, which helps to reduce heat loss.

The Dawn is more comfortable because of its firmness and lack sinkage. To aid heat dissipation, two cooling covers are included in the Plus.

Edge Support

Every Helix model comes with an encasement which is reinforced within the core of the coil. It reduces sinkage when people sit or lay on the edges of their beds. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. Because to their sturdy build, they also provide superb edge support. Additionally, Dusk, Midnight, and Plus provide sufficient support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. They provide the least amount of edge support of all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s overall quality is what separates the ease of movement from any other class. Because of the sinking Moonlight and setting sun, it is very difficult to walk on the surface.

Twilight and Dawn models however, feel firmer and more comfortable. Due to the strong pushback of the Dawn or Twilight models against the body, it is much easier for you to move about and get out.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses have coil cores that provide spring and bounce, which couples often enjoy when having sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

Because of their smooth surfaces, the Helix Dawn’s and Twilight’s make it easy to move about. This makes them great for couples. Additionally, dusk and midnight are ideal times for sex. However, moonlight, sunset and sunrise will likely make things more difficult. These models have plush, soft surface that could restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models come with the standard amount “new mattress scent” that is found in all foam mattresses.

This smell is often considered to be normal and goes away within a few hours. Helix offers a number of various mattress options.

Helix mattresses are hybrids. Their coil cores allow more air to circulate across the bed because they have multiple coils. This means that the odors from Helix mattresses will dissipate faster than they would from an all-foam one.

If the smell is bothersome, you might leave the mattress out in a well-ventilated place for a few days.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. To relieve strain and align the spine, the hips and shoulders need to be free to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers under 130 pounds will love the plush padding of the Moonlight and Dusk models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

Side sleepers between 130 to 230 pounds are best suited for the Midnight and Dusk’s firmness. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

If you are a side-sleeper who is more than 230 lbs, the Plus and, to some extent, the Twilight will be your best choices. People who are side sleepers will not sink too deeply into these models due to their firmer feel. The Helix Dynamic Foam layer gives cushioning and bounce, and since the Plus is designed for bigger persons, the foam comfort layers provide the necessary cradling that relieves pressure on the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers likewise want a mix of support and contouring, but they want less cushioning than side sleepers do.

Back sleeping is more difficult than usual. You need extra support in the lumbar and back regions to prevent your spine from sinking. The posture of your back on the bed ensures that your spine is reasonably even.

This is why back sleepers choose mattresses that have a firmer feel than side sleepers and not as stiff as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight could be the best choice for back sleepers less than 130 lbs, depending on their requirements. This mattress provides the perfect amount of support and cushioning for back sleepers.

The options are endless for people who weigh between 130 and 220 pounds. Back sleepers with this weight might find the Plus or Twilight suitable. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach sleepers tend to be more prone to sinking than other positions, putting greater pressure on their mattresses. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. It can cause later aches and discomforts. Stomach sleepers will need a mattress with more support, firmness, and enough push-back so that their backs align.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. The central region of the mattress is sturdy enough to reduce the possibility of excessive weight loss thanks to their hardness and support. So a cushion that’s comfortable will give stomach sleepers in this range the support they need.

Because it feels medium firm, the Midnight is best for stomach sleepers weighing less than 130lbs. Heavy people may sink too much. The Twilight might be suitable for stomach sleepers with lighter weights, particularly those who weigh between 130-230 pounds.
