Helix Dusk Luxe Mattress Reviews

Overview Helix Dusk Luxe Mattress Reviews

Helix, a mattress manufacturer selling direct to consumers, is known for its sleep studies. The quiz determines the best mattress for you based on your weight, preferred sleeping position, as well as your sleeping style. There are seven main variants in the Helix series to suit different sleeping styles. Helix Dusk Luxe Mattress Reviews

Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight The manufacturer’s softest versions are Helix Sunset or Helix Moonlight. Helix Midnight (and Helix Dusk) are two models that fall within the medium category. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn and Helix Plus are the most used models. The line’s firmest models are Helix Plus.

Helix produced the Sunset. Helix was conscious of side sleepers while creating the Sunset (the Midnight) and the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight and Dawn, as well as Dusk & Dawn, were designed with stomach and back sleeping in mind. The Plus is specially designed for people who are larger. Helix creates each mattress to fit specific weight categories and sleeping positions. However, it may be appreciated by some who like its feel.

Every model, except the Plus comes in both the Luxe or normal editions. Optional, the update expands the coil system in order to provide zonal Lumbar Support to improve spinal alignment. This works by supporting the hips and allowing the shoulders to drop further. The Luxe edition of the quilt is used on the top to give the cushion a plush feel. Tencel cover allows for better ventilation of the mattress, while also removing moisture. The upgrade comes with a 15-year warranty, in addition to the standard 10-year guarantee.

The standard versions of the Dawn, Dusk, Midnight, Moonlight, Sunset, and Twilight are 12 inches thick, while the luxurious versions are 14 inches thick. Plus is also 13 inches thick. Because Helix mattresses can be considered high-profile, it may require substantial pockets.

We will be examining the construction and reviews for each Helix mattress. We will also provide some possible benefits to help you make a decision about which model is best for you.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. The latex-like polyfoam of comfort layers is, however, springier than ordinary memory. The springiness emanating out of the coil’s center may allow you to detect your partner’s movements during the night.

Dusk, Sunset have the highest motion absorption of any Helix model due to their memory foam layers.

The Plus features two comfort layers, which stop most coil motions contacting the mattress’ springy core.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

The amount of noise transferred to the mattress is therefore reduced. Your ability to Sleep is likely to be less affected by your partner’s movements during nighttime, dawn, and after midnight.

Pressure Relief

One of the benefits of Helix mattresses is pressure reduction, which is partly attributable to the layers of memory foam, polyfoam, and pocketed coils. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. Side sleepers and anyone less than 130 lbs. have special needs. Softer mattresses provide better support. Firmer mattresses would be a better choice for those who sleep on the stomach or back, or who are more than 230lbs.

The finest pressure relief is provided by the moonlight, dusk, sunset, and midnight, in part because of the plusher surfaces. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Twilight and Dawn have a harder sensation, which will increase resistance to pressure points. This reduces the efficacy these products in this area.

Temperature Control

Helix hybrid mattresses are around average when it comes to cooling down.

Because memory foam mattresses often retain heat, they can make you feel warm while you sleep. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn is more comfortable because of its firmness and lack sinkage. To further reduce heat loss, the Plus comes with two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Each Helix model has an encasement that is strengthened within the coil’s core. It reduces sinkage when people sit or lay on the edges of their beds. Each model offers a different level of edge support, due to its quality and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. Due to their solid construction, they provide outstanding edge support. Additionally, Dusk, Midnight, and Plus provide sufficient support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight, Sunset and Sunset are the most luxurious models. You’ll feel less sinking while you sleep or be close to the edge. They have the lowest edge support of all Helix mattress models.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. Because of the sinking Moonlight and setting sun, it is very difficult to walk on the surface.

Twilight and Dawn models on the other side have a firmer, pleasanter sensation. With the powerful pushback of the body, Dawn and Twilight models make it much easier to get out of bed.

The Line with the Plus has a two-layer comfort system. Although it is a bit more difficult than other hybrids to move on, the bed’s firmness allows for sufficient movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses have coil cores that provide spring and bounce, which couples often enjoy when having sex. Depending on the design of the mattress, the degree of conforming and sinking provided by the foam layers may enhance or detract from the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces make it easy for couples to move around. Dusk, midnight, plus, and plus are the best times for sex. Moonlight and sunset, however, will make it more challenging. These models have soft, plush surfaces which may limit motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

The smell is usually considered safe and disappears after a few days. Helix offers several mattress options.

Helix mattresses can be described as hybrids because their coil cores make it easier for air to move around the entire bed. This means that the odors from Helix mattresses will dissipate faster than they would from an all-foam one.

If the scent bothers you, you could choose to leave the mattress exposed in a well-ventilated space for a few hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideThe key to a good night’s sleep is finding the right mattress that provides the perfect balance of support and cushioning. To align the spine and alleviate strain, the hips should not be pressed against the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

The fairly firm Midnight and Dusk are best suited for side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. These sleepers will appreciate the models’ combination of strong contouring and support.

If you’re a side sleeper and weigh more than 230 pounds, the Plus or, to a lesser degree, the Twilight are your best options. The firmer feel of these models will prevent side sleepers who are heavier than 230 pounds from sinking too deeply into their beds. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers also need a combination of support and contouring. But they require less cushioning than side-sleepers.

For back sleep to be comfortable, you will need to provide support and firmness in the lumbar region. This is important to avoid sinking too deep and creating spinal misalignment. You can ensure that your spine is fairly straight by placing your back on the mattress.

This is why back sleepers may choose mattresses that feel firmer than the side sleepers’, but not as stiff and comfortable as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight is a good option for back sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

People who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds have many options. Back sleepers with this weight might find the Plus or Twilight suitable. They both provide sufficient plushness to support the spine and the lower back. Both Dawn and Dusk are excellent due to their solid support and moderate firmness.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach sleepers are more likely to put stress on their mattresses, and sink deeper than others. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. Later aches and pains may result from this. Ultimately, stomach sleepers need a mattress that is firmer, more supportive, and has enough push-back to keep their backs in alignment.

Helix models that are thicker and more comfortable will suit stomach sleepers. They need a level surface to ensure proper spinal alignment. For those over 130lbs who wish to get a good night’s sleep, the Plus and Dawn may be a better choice. Due to its hardness and support, the central area of the mattress is strong enough to prevent excessive weight loss. To provide stomach sleepers with this weight, a cushion which is comfortable will be sufficient.

Because it feels medium firm, the Midnight is best for stomach sleepers weighing less than 130lbs. However, heavier people will sink too far. For stomach sleepers who are lighter in weight, especially those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, the Twilight may also be appropriate.
