Overview Helix Fiberglass Mattress

Helix, an online mattress manufacturer that sells directly to consumers, is well-known because of its sleep study. The quiz determines the best mattress for you based on your weight, preferred sleeping position, as well as your sleeping style. There are seven options in the Helix series that can be used to meet different preferences. Helix Fiberglass Mattress

Helix Sunset & Helix Moonlight: These are the softest models from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight and Helix Dusk are two examples of medium models. Helix Sunset The most often used models are Helix Twilight, Helix Dawn, and Helix Plus. Helix Plus is the firmest model in the Helix Plus line.

Helix produced the Sunset. Helix kept side sleepers in mind when creating the Sunset, Midnight and Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk and Dawn are designed with stomach sleepers and backs in mind. The Plus is designed especially for larger individuals. Helix makes each mattress with specific weights and sleep positions in mind. But, for some people, the Plus may feel great.

Every model, except the Plus comes in both the Luxe or normal editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This works by supporting the hips and allowing the shoulders to drop further. The Luxe edition of the quilt is used on the top to give the cushion a plush feel. Tencel covers encourage ventilation and aid in moisture removal. Upgrades come with an additional 15-year warranty in addition the usual 10-year guarantee.

The Dawn, Dusk Midnight, Midnight Moonlight, Sunset and Twilight standard versions are 12 inches thick. While the luxurious versions measure 14 inches. Plus is also 13 in thick. Helix mattresses could need substantial pockets since any of these heights might be regarded as high-profile.

We will review the specifications, construction, and customer reviews for each Helix mattress. We’ll also give you some benefits to help you choose the right model.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. A lot of movement is often absorbed by foam layers. However, the comfort layers’ latex-like, polyfoam is more springy than regular memory foam. Due to the springiness emanating form the coil’s core, it is possible to sense your partner moving throughout the night.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

The Plus also has two comfort layers that prevent most coil movements from reaching the springy core of the mattress.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. You might be able to sleep more easily if your partner is not around.

Pressure Relief

One of the benefits of Helix mattresses is pressure reduction, which is partly attributable to the layers of memory foam, polyfoam, and pocketed coils. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. Softer mattresses can better meet their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for those who prefer to sleep on their stomachs or backs or for those who weigh over 230 pounds.

Because of their plusher surfaces, the moonlight, dusk-sunset, sunset and midnight provide the most effective pressure relief. The Plus is specifically designed for those who are heavier and can help alleviate pressure points. Twilight’s stronger sensation will cause sleepers to be more resistant to pressure points, which can decrease the efficacy and effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix hybrid mattresses are around average when it comes to cooling down.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. To counter heat loss, the coils of these mattresses allow air to flow through to aid in cooling.

The Dawn’s firmness, and lack of sinkage, makes it more comfortable than other types. To further reduce heat loss, the Plus comes with two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Every Helix model is equipped with an encasement, which is strengthened within its core. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. Every model has a different level support due to its structure and stiffness.

Twilight and Dawn offer the best edge support, thanks to their solid design. They provide excellent edge support due to their strong build. Dusk, Midnight, or Plus are sufficient to support the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. They offer the most edge support among all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The ease of movement is primarily determined by the model’s quality. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models however, feel firmer and more comfortable. Due to the strong pushback of the Dawn or Twilight models against the body, it is much easier for you to move about and get out.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses provide some spring and bounce thanks to their coil cores. Many couples find this a great option for sex. The amount of conforming or sinking that the foam layers provide can influence the sexual experience depending on how it is made.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. Additionally, dusk, midnight, and plus are ideal times for sex, but moonlight and sunset will probably make things more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces that can restrict movement.

Off-Gassing

Helix models start with the same standard amount of “new-mattress scent” that all foam mattresses have.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix offers many different mattress options.

Helix mattresses that are hybrids have more air circulation because of their coil cores. Therefore, the odors of Helix mattresses will dissipate more quickly than with all-foam mattresses.

You can leave the mattress open for a few hours if the smell bothers you.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideTo sleep well on your side, you need a mattress that offers the right balance of support and cushioning. The mattress should allow the shoulders and hips to sink into it. This will help align the spine and relieve strain. Side sleepers will prefer mattresses with a more “medium” feel. They are closer to softening the range.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. The Moonlight is a good option for people who like a cozier atmosphere.

The fairly firm Midnight and Dusk are best suited for side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

The Plus and, to a lesser extent, the Twilight, are the best options if you are a side sleeper who weighs more over 230 pounds. People who are side sleepers will not sink too deeply into these models due to their firmer feel. Helix Dynamic Faam layers give cushioning and bounce. Plus models are designed for larger people. Foam comfort layers provide the necessary support to alleviate pressure on the shoulders.

Back Sleepers

Side sleepers need less cushioning but still require support.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. You can ensure that your spine is fairly straight by placing your back on the mattress.

This is why side sleepers prefer mattresses that are firmer, but not as rigid as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the right choice for backs that weigh less than 130lbs. It depends on your needs. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

There are many options for those who weigh between 130-230 pounds and between 130-230 pounds. Back sleepers who fall within this weight range may be able to use the Plus or Twilight. Both offer enough cushioning to cushion the spine, and support for the lower back. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

For those who weigh more over 230 pounds who sleep on their backs, the Plus, Twilight, and Dawn are great options. They offer great support for weight ranges to prevent hips and backs from sinking under the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

As the main weight bearing part of a person’s body, torsos are usually heavier. Stomach sleepers place greater stress on their mattresses and are more likely to sink further than in other positions. If they fall too far, it can cause their spines to shift out of alignment. It could cause aches or pains in the future. These stomach sleepers should have a mattress that’s firmer, supportive, and provides enough support to maintain their spine alignment.

Helix models with a firmer surface will be the most comfortable for stomach sleepers. This is because they require a level surface for proper spinal alignment. Those who weigh more than 130 pounds who want to sleep well might choose the Plus and Dawn. Thanks to their support and hardiness, the central part of the mattress is strong enough not to cause excessive weight loss. Therefore, a cushion that is comfortable will provide the support that stomach sleepers in this weight range require.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. But, people who are heavier will not sink as deep. For stomach sleepers who are lighter in weight, especially those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, the Twilight may also be appropriate.
