Overview Helix Mattress.Best Mattress

Helix, a direct to consumer mattress manufacturer, is known for its sleep research. The quiz determines the best mattress for you based on your weight, preferred sleeping position, as well as your sleeping style. There are seven main variants in the Helix series to suit different sleeping styles. Helix Mattress.Best Mattress

Helix Sunset & Helix Moonlight: These are the softest models from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight or Helix Dusk would be two examples of the medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn are the most popular models. The line’s firmest models are Helix Plus.

Helix is responsible for the Sunset. Helix was conscious of side sleepers while creating the Sunset (the Midnight) and the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight and Dawn, as well as Dusk & Dawn, were designed with stomach and back sleeping in mind. The Plus is made especially for larger people. Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

All models, except for the Plus edition, come in both the Luxe as well as the normal editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. The shoulders can drop further while the hips are supported. To give the cushion a plush feeling, the Luxe version of the top quilt is applied to it. Tencel cover allows for better ventilation of the mattress, while also removing moisture. Upgrades come with an additional 15-year warranty in addition the usual 10-year guarantee.

Standard versions of the Dawn and Dusk, Midnight, Moonlight and Sunset are 12 inches thick. The luxurious versions are 14 inches. The Plus is 13 inches thick in addition. Because Helix mattresses can be considered high-profile, it may require substantial pockets.

We will be examining the construction and reviews for each Helix mattress. We’ll also give you some benefits to help you choose the right model.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. However, comfort layers’ latex-like memory foam is much springier than regular memory foam. The springiness emanating out of the coil’s center may allow you to detect your partner’s movements during the night.

The memory foam layers and soft feel of the Helix models make the Dusk and Sunset absorb the most motion than any other models.

Two comfort layers make up the Plus. They prevent most coil motions reaching the core of the springy coils.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

As a result, the noise transmitted over the mattress is less. You might be able to sleep more easily if your partner is not around.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. The foam is able to induce deep relaxation and self cradling, which can reduce pressure points like the hips. Side sleepers, or those who weigh less than 130 lbs., have different needs. Softer mattresses are more suitable for side sleepers and those who weigh less than 130 lbs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The moonlight, sunset, sunrise, and night are the best times to relieve pressure. This is partly due to the plusher surfaces. The Plus is specifically designed for those who are heavier and can help alleviate pressure points. Due to Twilight and Dawn’s more intense sensations, sleepers will be less likely to experience pressure points. This can reduce the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform well for hybrids when it comes down to sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. To aid heat dissipation, two cooling covers are included in the Plus.

Edge Support

Each Helix model has an encasement that is strengthened within the coil’s core. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. Each model offers a different level of edge support, due to its quality and stiffness.

Twilight and Dawn provide the best edge support because of their sturdy design. They provide excellent edge support due to their strong build. Dusk, Midnight, or Plus are sufficient to support the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. They have the lowest edge support of all Helix mattress models.

Ease of Movement

The ease of movement is primarily determined by the model’s quality. It is difficult to walk on the surface because to the deep cradling and sink provided by the softer Moonlight and the setting sun.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. With the powerful pushback of the body, Dawn and Twilight models make it much easier to get out of bed.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. Depending on the design of the mattress, the degree of conforming and sinking provided by the foam layers may enhance or detract from the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces make it easy for couples to move around. Also, while dusk, night, and plus are great times to have sex, moonlight and sunset can make it more difficult. These models have plush, soft surface that could restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models come with the standard amount “new mattress scent” that is found in all foam mattresses.

The smell is usually considered safe and disappears after a few days. Helix offers many different mattress options.

Helix mattresses that are hybrids have more air circulation because of their coil cores. Therefore, the odors of Helix mattresses will dissipate more quickly than with all-foam mattresses.

If the smell is bothersome, you might leave the mattress out in a well-ventilated place for a few days.

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideYou can sleep comfortably on your side if you find the right combination of support and cushioning in a mattress. For proper alignment and relief of strain, the hips and shoulders should be free to sink into a mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

Side sleepers between 130 to 230 pounds are best suited for the Midnight and Dusk’s firmness. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

If you are a side-sleeper who is more than 230 lbs, the Plus and, to some extent, the Twilight will be your best choices. These models’ firmer feel will keep folks who fall into this type of side sleepers from sinking too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic Foam gives the Plus cushioning and bounce. And, because the Plus is built for larger individuals, the foam comfort layers provide the required cradling that relieves pressure from the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Side sleepers need less cushioning but still require support.

Back sleeping is more difficult than usual. You need extra support in the lumbar and back regions to prevent your spine from sinking. The posture of your back on the bed ensures that your spine is reasonably even.

This is why back sleepers may choose mattresses that feel firmer than the side sleepers’, but not as stiff and comfortable as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight might be the best option for back-sleepers under 130 pounds depending on their needs. It offers the ideal amount support and cushioning to this sleeping position.

The options are endless for people who weigh between 130 and 220 pounds. Back sleepers that fall into this weight range might do well in the Twilight or the Plus. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

The majority of someone’s weight is carried by their torsos. Stomach sleepers are more likely to put stress on their mattresses, and sink deeper than others. If they are too far down, their spines could become twisted and form a U-shaped shape. It can cause later aches and discomforts. Ultimately, stomach sleepers need a mattress that is firmer, more supportive, and has enough push-back to keep their backs in alignment.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. Due to its hardness and support, the central area of the mattress is strong enough to prevent excessive weight loss. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

Because it feels medium firm, the Midnight is best for stomach sleepers weighing less than 130lbs. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight might be suitable for stomach sleepers with lighter weights, particularly those who weigh between 130-230 pounds.
