Helix, a direct to consumer mattress manufacturer, is known for its sleep research. This quiz suggests the ideal mattress based on a person’s weight, preferred sleeping position, and sleeping style. There are seven options in the Helix series that can be used to meet different preferences. Helix Mattress Black Friday

Helix Moonlight and the Sunset The softest versions from the manufacturer are Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight. Helix Midnight and Helix Dusk are two examples of medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn, Helix Plus, and Helix Plus are three of the most commonly used models. Helix Plus is the firmest model in the Helix Plus line.

Helix makes the Sunset. Helix was conscious of side sleepers while creating the Sunset (the Midnight) and the Twilight. Lunar Light The Midnight, Dusk, and Dawn have been designed with stomach and back sleepers in mind. The Plus was designed specifically for those with larger bodies. Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

Except for the Plus, all models are available in the normal and luxe editions. This update is optional and extends coil support to provide zonal back support, which aids in better spinal alignment. This works by supporting the hips and allowing the shoulders to drop further. To give the cushion a more luxurious feel, the Luxe edition quilts the top. Tencel covers allow for ventilation to the mattress and help remove moisture. A 15-year warranty is included with the upgrade in addition to the normal 10-year guarantee.

The standard versions of the Dawn, Dusk, Midnight, Moonlight, Sunset, and Twilight are 12 inches thick, while the luxurious versions are 14 inches thick. Plus measures 13 inches. Since Helix mattresses may be high-profile, you might need to have large pockets.

We will review the specifications, construction, and customer reviews for each Helix mattress. We will also provide some possible benefits to help you make a decision about which model is best for you.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses have a great track record of preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. The latex-like polyfoam of comfort layers is, however, springier than ordinary memory. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

The Plus features two comfort layers, which stop most coil motions contacting the mattress’ springy core.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

The quantity of noise that is transferred over the mattress is reduced as a result. Your ability to Sleep is likely to be less affected by your partner’s movements during nighttime, dawn, and after midnight.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. The foam is able to induce deep relaxation and self cradling, which can reduce pressure points like the hips. Side sleepers, or those who weigh less than 130 lbs., have different needs. Softer mattresses can better meet their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The moonlight, sunset, sunrise, and night are the best times to relieve pressure. This is partly due to the plusher surfaces. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Twilight and Dawn have a harder sensation, which will increase resistance to pressure points. This reduces the efficacy these products in this area.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform about average in hybrids for cooling down when it comes sleeping.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness and lack of sinkage help it sleep cooler than the other types. To further reduce heat loss, the Plus comes with two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Each Helix model includes an encasement made from the coil’s inner core. Because of this, sinkage is less when a person lies down or sits on the edge. However, owing in large part to the quality of the construction and stiffness, each model has a varying level of edge support.

Twilight and Dawn offer the best edge support, thanks to their solid design. They provide excellent edge support due to their strong build. Dusk, Midnight and Plus also provide enough support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight or Sunset are the most expensive models. This means that you will sink less when you sleep, and you can sit closer to the edge. They offer the most edge support among all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s overall quality is what separates the ease of movement from any other class. It is hard to walk on the ground due to the sinking Moonlight, which is softer than the Sun.

Twilight and Dawn models, on the other hand, have a firmer, more pleasant sensation. The powerful pushback against the body of Dawn and Twilight models makes it easier to move around and get out from bed.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses provide some spring and bounce thanks to their coil cores. Many couples find this a great option for sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces make it easy for couples to move around. Dusk, midnight, plus, and plus are the best times for sex. Moonlight and sunset, however, will make it more challenging. These models have soft, plush surfaces that can restrict movement.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

This is a common smell that is considered to be safe and usually disappears within a few days. Helix offers many different mattress options.

Helix mattresses can be described as hybrids because their coil cores make it easier for air to move around the entire bed. This means that the odors from Helix mattresses will dissipate faster than they would from an all-foam one.

If you are bothered by the smell, you can choose to expose the mattress in a well-ventilated area for a few more hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideFinding a mattress with the ideal ratio of support to cushioning is the key to sleeping well on your side. To align the spine and alleviate strain, the hips should not be pressed against the mattress. Mattresses with a “medium” feel, closer to the soft end of the range, are often preferred by side sleepers.

The Dusk and Moonlight models’ plush padding will be appreciated by side bed sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. People who prefer a more cozy atmosphere will love the Moonlight.

Side sleepers between 130 and 220 pounds can use the Midnight or Dusk, which are firm and comfortable. These sleepers will appreciate the models’ combination of strong contouring and support.

If you are a side-sleeper who is more than 230 lbs, the Plus and, to some extent, the Twilight will be your best choices. The firmer feel of these models will prevent side sleepers who are heavier than 230 pounds from sinking too deeply into their beds. The Helix Dynamic Foam layer gives cushioning and bounce, and since the Plus is designed for bigger persons, the foam comfort layers provide the necessary cradling that relieves pressure on the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers also need a combination of support and contouring. But they require less cushioning than side-sleepers.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. You can ensure that your spine is fairly straight by placing your back on the mattress.

Back sleepers tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than side sleepers, but not as stiff or flexible as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight could be the best choice for back sleepers less than 130 lbs, depending on their requirements. It offers the ideal amount support and cushioning to this sleeping position.

The options are endless for people who weigh between 130 and 220 pounds. Back sleepers who fall within this weight range may be able to use the Plus or Twilight. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

The Plus, Twilight, or Dawn are great options for people who are heavier than 230 lbs and sleep on their stomachs. They offer great support for weight ranges to prevent hips and backs from sinking under the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach sleepers tend to be more prone to sinking than other positions, putting greater pressure on their mattresses. If they sink too far, they run the risk of pushing their spines out their normal alignment. Later aches and pains may result from this. These stomach sleepers should have a mattress that’s firmer, supportive, and provides enough support to maintain their spine alignment.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. The Plus and Dawn are good options for those who weigh over 130 pounds and want to sleep well. Because of their support and hardness, the central region of the mattress can reduce the risk of weight loss. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. But, people who are heavier will not sink as deep. For stomach sleepers who are lighter in weight, especially those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, the Twilight may also be appropriate.
