Overview Helix Mattress Custom Time

Helix, a direct to consumer mattress manufacturer, is known for its sleep research. This quiz will help you choose the right mattress based upon your body weight, preferred position and sleeping style. The Helix series includes of seven primary variants to accommodate various sleeping preferences. Helix Mattress Custom Time

Helix Sunset & Helix Moonlight: These are the softest models from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight (and Helix Dusk) are two models that fall within the medium category. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn are the most popular models. Helix Plus is the most reliable model in the line.

Helix makes the Sunset. Helix has side sleepers in mind while designing the Sunset, the Midnight, and the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk, Dawn and Dawn were created with stomach and back sleepers as consideration. The Plus is designed especially for larger individuals. Helix makes each mattress with specific weights and sleep positions in mind. But, for some people, the Plus may feel great.

All models, except for the Plus edition, come in both the Luxe as well as the normal editions. Optional, the update expands the coil system in order to provide zonal Lumbar Support to improve spinal alignment. This is accomplished by supporting the hips while allowing the shoulders to descend farther. To give the cushion a more luxurious feel, the Luxe edition quilts the top. The Tencel cover promotes ventilation into the mattress while assisting in the removal of moisture. The upgrade comes with a 15-year warranty, in addition to the standard 10-year guarantee.

The Dawn, Dusk and Midnight versions, Sunset, Moonlight, Sunset, Twilight, and Midnight versions are each 12 inches thick. The luxury versions are 14 inch thick. Plus is also 13 inches thick. Because Helix mattresses can be considered high-profile, it may require substantial pockets.

We’ll review each Helix mattress, including its construction and reviews. We will also provide some possible benefits to help you make a decision about which model is best for you.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. Many movements are absorbed by the foam layers. The latex-like polyfoam of comfort layers is, however, springier than ordinary memory. The springiness emanating out of the coil’s center may allow you to detect your partner’s movements during the night.

The memory foam layers and soft feel of the Helix models make the Dusk and Sunset absorb the most motion than any other models.

The Plus also has two comfort layers that prevent most coil movements from reaching the springy core of the mattress.

The mattress may feel less vibratory because of this.

The quantity of noise that is transferred over the mattress is reduced as a result. It is possible to rest better if you sleep at night, in the morning, or at night.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses offer pressure relief. This is partially due to the pocketsed coils, memory foam and polyfoam layers. The foam allows deep relaxation and self-cradling which may reduce pressure on pressure points like the hips, shoulders and hips. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. Softer mattresses are more suitable for side sleepers and those who weigh less than 130 lbs. Firmer mattresses may be recommended for those who want to lie on their stomachs or backs and who are heavier than 230 lbs.

Moonlight, dusk and sunset provide the best pressure relief, partly because they have plusher surfaces. The Plus is specially designed for heavier sleepers and may reduce pressure points. Twilight and Dawn have a harder sensation, which will increase resistance to pressure points. This reduces the efficacy these products in this area.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform about average in hybrids for cooling down when it comes sleeping.

The memory foam mattress has a reputation for making you feel heated while you sleep since it often captures and holds onto heat all night. To counter heat loss, the coils of these mattresses allow air to flow through to aid in cooling.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. To aid heat dissipation, two cooling covers are included in the Plus.

Edge Support

Every Helix model is equipped with an encasement, which is strengthened within its core. The coil’s core is strengthened, so there is less sinkage when the person sits or lies on the edge of their bed. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

For instance, due to their sturdy design, the Dawn and Twilight provide the best edge support. Due to their solid construction, they provide outstanding edge support. Dusk, Midnight and Plus also provide enough support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. They provide the least amount of edge support of all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. The deep sinking Moonlight and setting sun make it difficult to walk on this surface.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. It’s much easier to get up and move about with the Dawn/Twilight models’ strong pushback against your body.

The Line with a Plus bed has two layers of comfort. However, it’s a little more difficult to move than other hybrids.

Sex

Helix mattresses are known for their coil cores which provide some spring and bounce. Many couples enjoy Helix mattress sex. The degree of conforming and sinking offered by the foam layers will vary depending on how they are designed. This can either enhance or diminish the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. Additionally, dusk and midnight are ideal times for sex. However, moonlight, sunset and sunrise will likely make things more difficult. These models have plush, soft surfaces that may restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models start with the same standard amount of “new-mattress scent” that all foam mattresses have.

This smell is often considered to be normal and goes away within a few hours. Helix offers several mattress options.

Helix mattresses that are hybrids have more air circulation because of their coil cores. As a result, the odors will dissipate quicker than they would with an all-foam mattress.

You could leave the mattress unventilated for a couple of hours if you find the scent to be bothersome.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideTo sleep well on your side, you need a mattress that offers the right balance of support and cushioning. To relieve strain and align the spine, the hips and shoulders need to be free to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side bed sleepers weighing less than 130 lbs will appreciate the soft padding in the Moonlight or Dusk models. The Moonlight is a good option for people who like a cozier atmosphere.

The fairly firm Midnight and Dusk are best suited for side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. Most people in this weight range will love the models’ combination for powerful contouring as well as support.

If you are a side sleeping person who weighs more than 230lbs, the Plus, and to a lesser extent the Twilight, are your best options. People who fall into this category of side sleepers will feel the models’ firmer feeling and not sink too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers also need a combination of support and contouring. But they require less cushioning than side-sleepers.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. Your spine will be fairly even if your back is positioned on the bed.

This is why back sleepers often choose mattresses that are firmer than those preferred by side sleepers but not as stiff as those preferred by stomach sleepers.

The Midnight could be the best choice for back sleepers less than 130 lbs, depending on their requirements. It provides the ideal amount of cushioning and support for this sleeping posture.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. The Plus or Twilight might be a good choice for back sleepers who are in this weight range. They both provide sufficient plushness to support the spine and the lower back. They are both Dusk as well as Dawn excellent because of their firmness and reliability.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. They provide excellent support to the weight range and prevent your hips from sinking in the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

The majority of someone’s weight is carried by their torsos. Stomach-sleepers are more likely than other sleepers to place greater strain on their mattresses. They also tend to sink deeper than those in other positions. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. Later aches and pains may result from this. Ultimately, stomach sleepers need a mattress that is firmer, more supportive, and has enough push-back to keep their backs in alignment.

The firmer Helix versions will be most comfortable for stomach sleepers, who require a level surface to preserve proper spinal alignment and alignment. People who are more than 130 lbs and who wish to sleep well may choose the Plus or Dawn. Due to its hardness and support, the central area of the mattress is strong enough to prevent excessive weight loss. To provide stomach sleepers with this weight, a cushion which is comfortable will be sufficient.

Because it is medium-firm, the Midnight is suitable for stomach sleepers less than 130 pounds. Heavy people may sink too much. The Twilight might be suitable for stomach sleepers with lighter weights, particularly those who weigh between 130-230 pounds.
