Helix Mattress For Heavy Person: 2023 Full Review

Helix Mattress For Heavy Person

Overview Helix Mattress For Heavy Person

Helix, a mattress manufacturer selling direct to consumers, is known for its sleep studies. The quiz determines the best mattress for you based on your weight, preferred sleeping position, as well as your sleeping style. The Helix series has seven different variants that will suit various sleeping preferences. Helix Mattress For Heavy Person

Helix Sunset & Helix Moonlight: These are the softest models from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight or Helix Dusk would be two examples of the medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn Helix Plus and Helix Plus have the most common use models. Helix Plus and Helix Twilight are the best-selling models in the Helix line.

Helix produces the Sunset. Helix considers side sleepers when designing the Sunsets, Midnights, and Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight and Dawn, as well as Dusk & Dawn, were designed with stomach and back sleeping in mind. The Plus is made especially for larger people. Helix makes each mattress with specific weights and sleep positions in mind. But, for some people, the Plus may feel great.

Every model, except the Plus comes in both the Luxe or normal editions. The update, which is optional, extends the coil system to provide zonal lumbar support to aid in more effective spinal alignment. This is accomplished by supporting the hips while allowing the shoulders to descend farther. The Luxe edition of the quilt is used on the top to give the cushion a plush feel. The Tencel cover promotes ventilation into the mattress while assisting in the removal of moisture. Along with the 10-year guarantee, the upgrade also includes a 15-year warranty.

The Dawn, Dusk Midnight, Midnight Moonlight, Sunset and Twilight standard versions are 12 inches thick. While the luxurious versions measure 14 inches. Plus measures 13 inches. Because Helix mattresses can be considered high-profile, it may require substantial pockets.

We’ll review each Helix mattress, including its construction and reviews. We’ll also give you some benefits to help you choose the right model.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses are very good at controlling movement. Many movements are absorbed by the foam layers. However, the comfort layers’ latex-like, polyfoam is more springy than regular memory foam. Due to the coil’s springiness, you might be able to see your partner’s movements throughout their night.

The memory foam layers and soft feel of the Helix models make the Dusk and Sunset absorb the most motion than any other models.

The Plus features two comfort layers, which stop most coil motions contacting the mattress’ springy core.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

This reduces the amount of noise that is transmitted across the mattress. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

One of the benefits of Helix mattresses is pressure reduction, which is partly attributable to the layers of memory foam, polyfoam, and pocketed coils. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. Side sleepers and anyone less than 130 lbs. have special needs. are better met by the softer mattresses. Firmer mattresses may be recommended for those who want to lie on their stomachs or backs and who are heavier than 230 lbs.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus is made especially for those who weigh more, and it may effectively alleviate pressure spots for people who sleep in this category. Twilight and Dawn have a harder sensation, which will increase resistance to pressure points. This reduces the efficacy these products in this area.

Temperature Control

Helix hybrid mattresses are around average when it comes to cooling down.

Because memory foam mattresses often retain heat, they can make you feel warm while you sleep. However, these mattresses’ coils allow for air flow to help counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness, and lack of sinkage, makes it more comfortable than other types. The Plus includes two cooling covers to help with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Every Helix model comes with an encasement which is reinforced within the core of the coil. Because of this, sinkage is less when a person lies down or sits on the edge. Every model has a different level support due to its structure and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. Due to their solid construction, they provide outstanding edge support. Additionally, Dusk, Midnight, and Plus provide sufficient support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. They provide the least amount of edge support of all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s ability to move is the main distinguishing feature. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models however, feel firmer and more comfortable. With the powerful pushback of the body, Dawn and Twilight models make it much easier to get out of bed.

The Line with the Plus has a two-layer comfort system. Although it is a bit more difficult than other hybrids to move on, the bed’s firmness allows for sufficient movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. Additionally, dusk, midnight, and plus are ideal times for sex, but moonlight and sunset will probably make things more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces which may limit motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

This smell is often considered to be normal and goes away within a few hours. Helix offers many different mattress options.

Helix mattresses are hybrids. Their coil cores allow more air to circulate across the bed because they have multiple coils. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

If the smell is bothersome, you might leave the mattress out in a well-ventilated place for a few days.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideYou can sleep comfortably on your side if you find the right combination of support and cushioning in a mattress. To relieve strain and align the spine, the hips and shoulders need to be free to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers are more comfortable with mattresses that feel “medium”, closer to the soft range.

The Dusk and Moonlight models’ plush padding will be appreciated by side bed sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. For those who want a cozier environment, the Moonlight is an excellent choice.

The fairly firm Midnight and Dusk are best suited for side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. Most people in this weight range will love the models’ combination for powerful contouring as well as support.

The Plus and, to a lesser extent, the Twilight, are the best options if you are a side sleeper who weighs more over 230 pounds. People who fall into this category of side sleepers will feel the models’ firmer feeling and not sink too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic Faam layers give cushioning and bounce. Plus models are designed for larger people. Foam comfort layers provide the necessary support to alleviate pressure on the shoulders.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. Your spine should be balanced by the position of your back on a bed.

This is why side sleepers prefer mattresses that are firmer, but not as rigid as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the right choice for backs that weigh less than 130lbs. It depends on your needs. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. Back sleepers that fall into this weight range might do well in the Twilight or the Plus. They both provide sufficient plushness to support the spine and the lower back. They are both Dusk as well as Dawn excellent because of their firmness and reliability.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. They provide excellent support to the weight range and prevent your hips from sinking in the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach-sleepers are more likely than other sleepers to place greater strain on their mattresses. They also tend to sink deeper than those in other positions. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. Later aches and pains may result from this. Stomach sleepers require a mattress that is firmer and more supportive. It should also have enough push-back to support their backs.

For stomach sleepers who need a flat surface to maintain proper spine alignment, the firmer Helix models will be more comfortable. People who are more than 130 lbs and who wish to sleep well may choose the Plus or Dawn. Thanks to their support and hardiness, the central part of the mattress is strong enough not to cause excessive weight loss. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

The Midnight is appropriate for stomach sleepers under 130 pounds since it feels medium-firm. Heavy people may sink too much. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
