Helix Mattress Longevity

Overview Helix Mattress Longevity

Helix, a mattress manufacturer selling direct to consumers, is known for its sleep studies. This quiz will help you choose the right mattress based upon your body weight, preferred position and sleeping style. There are seven main variants in the Helix series to suit different sleeping styles. Helix Mattress Longevity

Helix Moonlight and the Sunset The softest versions from the manufacturer are Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight. Helix Midnight is one example of a medium model. Helix Dusk is another. Helix Sunset The most often used models are Helix Twilight, Helix Dawn, and Helix Plus. Helix Plus are the strongest models in this line.

Helix makes the Sunset. Helix has side sleepers in mind while designing the Sunset, the Midnight, and the Twilight. Lunar Light The Midnight, Dusk, and Dawn have been designed with stomach and back sleepers in mind. The Plus is especially made for those who are bigger. Helix creates each mattress to fit specific weight categories and sleeping positions. However, it may be appreciated by some who like its feel.

All models, except for the Plus edition, come in both the Luxe as well as the normal editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This works by supporting the hips and allowing the shoulders to drop further. The top of the cushion is quilted in the Luxe edition to give it a plusher feel. Tencel covers allow for ventilation to the mattress and help remove moisture. In addition to the 10-year standard guarantee, the upgrade includes a 15 year warranty.

The Dawn, Dusk and Midnight versions, Sunset, Moonlight, Sunset, Twilight, and Midnight versions are each 12 inches thick. The luxury versions are 14 inch thick. Plus measures 13 inches. Because Helix mattresses can be considered high-profile, it may require substantial pockets.

We’ll examine the features, construction, and reviews of each of these Helix mattresses. We’ll also highlight some of the possible benefits so you can choose which model suits you best.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses are great at keeping you from moving. Foam layers absorb a lot of movement. However, comfort layers’ latex-like memory foam is much springier than regular memory foam. Due to the springiness emanating form the coil’s core, it is possible to sense your partner moving throughout the night.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

Two comfort layers are included in the Plus, which keep most coil motions from reaching its springy coil core.

This may result in less vibration traveling over the mattress’ surface.

The quantity of noise that is transferred over the mattress is reduced as a result. It is possible to rest better if you sleep at night, in the morning, or at night.

Pressure Relief

One of the benefits of Helix mattresses is pressure reduction, which is partly attributable to the layers of memory foam, polyfoam, and pocketed coils. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. Firmer mattresses may be recommended for those who want to lie on their stomachs or backs and who are heavier than 230 lbs.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus was designed specifically for those with more weight and may be effective in relieving pressure points for those who fall into this category. Twilight and Dawn have a harder sensation, which will increase resistance to pressure points. This reduces the efficacy these products in this area.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform well for hybrids when it comes down to sleeping cool.

Because memory foam mattresses often retain heat, they can make you feel warm while you sleep. To counter heat loss, the coils of these mattresses allow air to flow through to aid in cooling.

The Dawn’s firmness, and lack of sinkage, makes it more comfortable than other types. Two cooling covers are included with the Plus to further aid with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Every Helix model is equipped with an encasement, which is strengthened within its core. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. However, owing in large part to the quality of the construction and stiffness, each model has a varying level of edge support.

Twilight and Dawn provide the best edge support because of their sturdy design. Because to their sturdy build, they also provide superb edge support. Dusk, Midnight, or Plus are sufficient to support the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset are the most luxurious models. They offer more support for your spine, while also allowing you to sleep closer to the edge. They provide the least amount of edge support of all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s ability to move is the main distinguishing feature. Because of the sinking Moonlight and setting sun, it is very difficult to walk on the surface.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. With the powerful pushback of the body, Dawn and Twilight models make it much easier to get out of bed.

The Line with Plus’s plush comfort system with two layers may make it more difficult to move, but the firmness of the mattress still allows for enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses can provide spring and bounce due to their coil cores. This is something many couples love when having sex. The amount of conforming or sinking that the foam layers provide can influence the sexual experience depending on how it is made.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces make it easy for couples to move around. Additionally, dusk and midnight are ideal times for sex. However, moonlight, sunset and sunrise will likely make things more difficult. These models may be restricted by their soft, plush surfaces.

Off-Gassing

Helix models are initially equipped with the standard “new mattress fragrance” which is common for all foam mattresses.

This smell is often thought to be safe and goes away after a few days. Helix has many mattress options.

Helix mattresses can be described as hybrids because their coil cores make it easier for air to move around the entire bed. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

If the scent bothers you, you could choose to leave the mattress exposed in a well-ventilated space for a few hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideTo sleep well on your side, you need a mattress that offers the right balance of support and cushioning. To relieve strain and align the spine, the hips and shoulders need to be free to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers under 130 pounds will love the plush padding of the Moonlight and Dusk models. People who prefer a more cozy atmosphere will love the Moonlight.

Side sleepers who are between 130 and 230 lbs should be able to use the Midnight/Dusk. These sleepers will appreciate the models’ combination of strong contouring and support.

The Plus and, to a lesser extent, the Twilight, are the best options if you are a side sleeper who weighs more over 230 pounds. People who are side sleepers will not sink too deeply into these models due to their firmer feel. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

Back sleeping typically requires a bit extra support and hardness, especially in the lumbar region to prevent sinking too deeply and causing spinal misalignment. Your spine should be balanced by the position of your back on a bed.

This is why back sleepers may choose mattresses that feel firmer than the side sleepers’, but not as stiff and comfortable as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight is a good option for back sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. It provides the ideal amount of cushioning and support for this sleeping posture.

There are many options for those who weigh between 130-230 pounds and between 130-230 pounds. Back sleepers with this weight might find the Plus or Twilight suitable. Both offer enough cushioning to cushion the spine, and support for the lower back. Dusk and Dawn are equally excellent for their support and firmness.

For those who weigh more over 230 pounds who sleep on their backs, the Plus, Twilight, and Dawn are great options. These pillows provide excellent support and help to keep hips from sinking into your mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

As the main weight bearing part of a person’s body, torsos are usually heavier. Stomach sleepers tend to be more prone to sinking than other positions, putting greater pressure on their mattresses. If they sink too far, they run the risk of pushing their spines out their normal alignment. Later aches and pains may result from this. Stomach sleepers require a mattress that is firmer and more supportive. It should also have enough push-back to support their backs.

For stomach sleepers who need a flat surface to maintain proper spine alignment, the firmer Helix models will be more comfortable. For those over 130lbs who wish to get a good night’s sleep, the Plus and Dawn may be a better choice. Thanks to their support and hardiness, the central part of the mattress is strong enough not to cause excessive weight loss. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

The Midnight is appropriate for stomach sleepers under 130 pounds since it feels medium-firm. Heavy people may sink too much. For stomach sleepers who are lighter in weight, especially those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, the Twilight may also be appropriate.
