Helix Mattress Motion Transfer

Overview Helix Mattress Motion Transfer

Helix, a mattress manufacturer selling direct to consumers, is known for its sleep studies. This quiz helps you determine the ideal mattress by analyzing your body, weight, sleeping style, and preferred sleeping position. The Helix series has seven different variants that will suit various sleeping preferences. Helix Mattress Motion Transfer

Helix Moonlight and the Sunset The softest versions from the manufacturer are Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight. Helix Midnight (and Helix Dusk) are two models that fall within the medium category. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn and Helix Plus are the most used models. Helix Plus is the firmest model in the Helix Plus line.

Helix makes the Sunset. Helix considers side sleepers when designing the Sunsets, Midnights, and Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight and Dawn, as well as Dusk & Dawn, were designed with stomach and back sleeping in mind. The Plus is made especially for larger people. Helix creates each mattress to fit specific weight categories and sleeping positions. However, it may be appreciated by some who like its feel.

Each model, with the exception of the Plus, comes in both the normal and Luxe editions. Optional, the update expands the coil system in order to provide zonal Lumbar Support to improve spinal alignment. The hips are supported while the shoulders drop farther. To give the cushion a plush feeling, the Luxe version of the top quilt is applied to it. Tencel cover allows for better ventilation of the mattress, while also removing moisture. A 15-year warranty is included with the upgrade in addition to the normal 10-year guarantee.

The Dawn, Dusk Midnight and Sunset versions are 12 inches thick. Twilight’s luxurious version is 14 inches. Plus is also 13 inches thick. The Helix mattress may need large pockets as any of these heights could be regarded high-profile.

We’ll be looking at the features, construction, reviews, and other aspects of each Helix mattress. We will also provide some possible benefits to help you make a decision about which model is best for you.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses are very good at controlling movement. A lot of movement is often absorbed by foam layers. However, comfort layers’ latex-like memory foam is much springier than regular memory foam. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

Due to the memory foam layers and softer feel compared to the other Helix models, the Dusk and Sunset both absorb the most motion of all the Helix models.

Two comfort layers make up the Plus. They prevent most coil motions reaching the core of the springy coils.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

As a result, the noise transmitted over the mattress is less. It is possible to rest better if you sleep at night, in the morning, or at night.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses offer pressure relief. This is partially due to the pocketsed coils, memory foam and polyfoam layers. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. Side sleepers and those under 130 lbs. are more demanding. Softer mattresses provide better support. For those who like to sleep on their stomach or back or who weigh more than 230 pounds, however, firmer mattresses are recommended.

The moonlight, sunset, sunrise, and night are the best times to relieve pressure. This is partly due to the plusher surfaces. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Twilight and Dawn will have a stronger sensation which will make it more difficult for sleepers to feel pressure points. This decreases the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

When it comes to sleeping cool, Helix mattresses perform around average for hybrids.

The memory foam mattress has a reputation for making you feel heated while you sleep since it often captures and holds onto heat all night. These mattresses have coils that allow air to circulate through them to counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness combined with its lack of sinkage make it cooler than any other type. The Plus includes two cooling covers to help with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model has an encasement that is strengthened within the coil’s core. Because of this, sinkage is less when a person lies down or sits on the edge. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

Twilight and Dawn offer the best edge support, thanks to their solid design. Because to their sturdy build, they also provide superb edge support. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. They provide the smallest amount of edge support than all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s overall quality is what separates the ease of movement from any other class. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models on the other side have a firmer, pleasanter sensation. It’s much easier to get up and move about with the Dawn/Twilight models’ strong pushback against your body.

The Line with Plus’s plush comfort system with two layers may make it more difficult to move, but the firmness of the mattress still allows for enough movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. Also, while dusk, night, and plus are great times to have sex, moonlight and sunset can make it more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces which may limit motion.

Off-Gassing

All Helix models initially have the standard amount of “new mattress scent,” which is present with all foam mattresses.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix has many mattress options.

Helix mattresses that are hybrids have more air circulation because of their coil cores. Therefore, the odors of Helix mattresses will dissipate more quickly than with all-foam mattresses.

If you are bothered by the smell, you can choose to expose the mattress in a well-ventilated area for a few more hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers are more comfortable with mattresses that feel “medium”, closer to the soft range.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. The Moonlight is a good option for people who like a cozier atmosphere.

Side sleepers between 130 to 230 pounds are best suited for the Midnight and Dusk’s firmness. Most people in this weight range will love the models’ combination for powerful contouring as well as support.

If you are a side sleeping person who weighs more than 230lbs, the Plus, and to a lesser extent the Twilight, are your best options. These models’ firmer feel will keep folks who fall into this type of side sleepers from sinking too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers also need a combination of support and contouring. But they require less cushioning than side-sleepers.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. Your spine should be balanced by the position of your back on a bed.

Back sleepers tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than side sleepers, but not as stiff or flexible as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight could be the best choice for back sleepers less than 130 lbs, depending on their requirements. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. Back sleepers that fall into this weight range might do well in the Twilight or the Plus. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

The Plus, Twilight, or Dawn are great options for people who are heavier than 230 lbs and sleep on their stomachs. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because the majority of an individual’s weight is in their torsos, Stomach sleepers tend to be more prone to sinking than other positions, putting greater pressure on their mattresses. If they fall too far, it can cause their spines to shift out of alignment. It could cause aches or pains in the future. The bottom line is that stomach sleepers need a mattress which is firmer, more supportive and offers enough support to align their backs.

For stomach sleepers who need a flat surface to maintain proper spine alignment, the firmer Helix models will be more comfortable. For those over 130lbs who wish to get a good night’s sleep, the Plus and Dawn may be a better choice. Because they are strong and supportive, the central portion of the mattress will reduce the chance of you losing weight. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
