Helix Mattress Nightfall: 2023 Full Review

Helix Mattress Nightfall

Overview Helix Mattress Nightfall

Helix, an online mattress manufacturer that sells directly to consumers, is well-known because of its sleep study. This quiz helps you determine the ideal mattress by analyzing your body, weight, sleeping style, and preferred sleeping position. To accommodate different sleeping preferences, the Helix series offers seven variants. Helix Mattress Nightfall

Helix Sunset, Helix Moonlight, and Helix Sunset are the most soft versions. Helix Midnight, Helix Dusk and Helix Twilight are two examples for medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn and Helix Plus are the most used models. The line’s firmest models are Helix Plus.

Helix produced the Sunset. Helix was conscious of side sleepers while creating the Sunset (the Midnight) and the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight and Dawn, as well as Dusk & Dawn, were designed with stomach and back sleeping in mind. The Plus is especially made for those who are bigger. While Helix designs each mattress with certain weight categories and sleep positions in mind, some people may also like the way it feels.

With the exception of Plus, every model is available in both the Luxe and normal editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This works by supporting the hips and allowing the shoulders to drop further. To give it a luxurious feel, the cushion’s top is quilted with Luxe Edition. Tencel cover allows for better ventilation of the mattress, while also removing moisture. In addition to the 10-year standard guarantee, the upgrade includes a 15 year warranty.

The Dawn, Dusk Midnight, Midnight Moonlight, Sunset and Twilight standard versions are 12 inches thick. While the luxurious versions measure 14 inches. Additionally, the Plus measures 13 inches in thickness. Helix mattresses might require large pockets, as they could be viewed as high-profile.

We will review the specifications, construction, and customer reviews for each Helix mattress. We will also provide some possible benefits to help you make a decision about which model is best for you.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. The foam layers absorb most movement. The latex-like polyfoam of comfort layers is, however, springier than ordinary memory. The springiness emanating out of the coil’s center may allow you to detect your partner’s movements during the night.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

Two comfort layers are included in the Plus, which keep most coil motions from reaching its springy coil core.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

As a result, the noise transmitted over the mattress is less. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses are known for their ability to reduce pressure. This is due in part to the pockets of coils and memory foam. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. Side sleepers, or those who weigh less than 130 lbs., have different needs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. For those who like to sleep on their stomach or back or who weigh more than 230 pounds, however, firmer mattresses are recommended.

Moonlight, dusk and sunset provide the best pressure relief, partly because they have plusher surfaces. The Plus is made especially for those who weigh more, and it may effectively alleviate pressure spots for people who sleep in this category. Twilight’s stronger sensation will cause sleepers to be more resistant to pressure points, which can decrease the efficacy and effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform about average in hybrids for cooling down when it comes sleeping.

The memory foam mattress has a reputation for making you feel heated while you sleep since it often captures and holds onto heat all night. These mattresses have coils that allow air to circulate through them to counter heat loss.

The Dawn is more comfortable because of its firmness and lack sinkage. Two cooling covers are included with the Plus to further aid with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model features an encasement that’s strengthened in the coil’s core. This reduces sinkage when someone lies on their back or sits on their bed edge. Each model is different in terms of how supportive it provides edge support. This is due to the quality of its construction and stiffness.

For instance, due to their sturdy design, the Dawn and Twilight provide the best edge support. Due to their solid construction, they provide outstanding edge support. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset are the most luxurious models. They offer more support for your spine, while also allowing you to sleep closer to the edge. They have the lowest edge support of all Helix mattress models.

Ease of Movement

The model’s overall quality is what separates the ease of movement from any other class. The deep sinking Moonlight and setting sun make it difficult to walk on this surface.

Twilight and Dawn models however, feel firmer and more comfortable. It is considerably simpler to shift about and get out of bed with the Dawn and Twilight models’ powerful pushback against the body.

The Line with a Plus bed has two layers of comfort. However, it’s a little more difficult to move than other hybrids.

Sex

Helix mattresses provide some spring and bounce thanks to their coil cores. Many couples find this a great option for sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight’s smooth surfaces make moving about simpler, making them the best options for couples. Additionally, dusk, midnight, and plus are ideal times for sex, but moonlight and sunset will probably make things more difficult. These models have plush, soft surface that could restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models start with the same standard amount of “new-mattress scent” that all foam mattresses have.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix offers a number of various mattress options.

Helix hybrid mattresses have coil cores that allow for more air to flow across the entire bed. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

You could leave the mattress unventilated for a couple of hours if you find the scent to be bothersome.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. For proper alignment and relief of strain, the hips and shoulders should be free to sink into a mattress. Side sleepers are more comfortable with mattresses that feel “medium”, closer to the soft range.

Side bed sleepers less than 130lbs will enjoy the plush padding on the Moonlight and Dusk models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

The Midnight and Dusk models are best for side sleepers weighing between 130-230 pounds. The majority of sleepers in this weight range will enjoy the models’ blend of powerful contouring and support.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. The firmer feel of these models will prevent side sleepers who are heavier than 230 pounds from sinking too deeply into their beds. Helix Dynamic Foam gives the Plus cushioning and bounce. And, because the Plus is built for larger individuals, the foam comfort layers provide the required cradling that relieves pressure from the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers likewise want a mix of support and contouring, but they want less cushioning than side sleepers do.

Back sleeping typically requires a bit extra support and hardness, especially in the lumbar region to prevent sinking too deeply and causing spinal misalignment. Your spine will be fairly even if your back is positioned on the bed.

This is why side sleepers prefer mattresses that are firmer, but not as rigid as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the right choice for backs that weigh less than 130lbs. It depends on your needs. It offers the ideal amount support and cushioning to this sleeping position.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Both Dawn and Dusk are excellent due to their solid support and moderate firmness.

For those who weigh more over 230 pounds who sleep on their backs, the Plus, Twilight, and Dawn are great options. They provide excellent support to the weight range and prevent your hips from sinking in the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because the majority of an individual’s weight is in their torsos, Stomach-sleepers are more likely than other sleepers to place greater strain on their mattresses. They also tend to sink deeper than those in other positions. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. It could cause aches or pains in the future. Ultimately, stomach sleepers need a mattress that is firmer, more supportive, and has enough push-back to keep their backs in alignment.

For stomach sleepers who need a flat surface to maintain proper spine alignment, the firmer Helix models will be more comfortable. People who are more than 130 lbs and who wish to sleep well may choose the Plus or Dawn. Thanks to their support and hardiness, the central part of the mattress is strong enough not to cause excessive weight loss. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
