Overview Helix Mattress Owner

Helix, a direct to consumer mattress manufacturer, is known for its sleep research. This quiz will determine which mattress is best for you. It takes into account your weight, preferred sleep position, and personal sleeping preferences. To accommodate different sleeping preferences, the Helix series offers seven variants. Helix Mattress Owner

Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight are the softest versions available from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight and Helix Dusk are two examples of medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn and Helix Plus are the most used models. Helix Plus and Helix Twilight are the best-selling models in the Helix line.

Helix produced the Sunset. Helix considered side sleepers when designing the Sunset and Midnight, as well as the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk and Dawn are designed with stomach sleepers and backs in mind. The Plus is designed especially for larger individuals. Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

Except for the Plus, all models are available in the normal and luxe editions. Optional, the update expands the coil system in order to provide zonal Lumbar Support to improve spinal alignment. The hips are supported while the shoulders drop farther. To give the cushion a more luxurious feel, the Luxe edition quilts the top. Tencel cover allows for better ventilation of the mattress, while also removing moisture. In addition to the 10-year standard guarantee, the upgrade includes a 15 year warranty.

The Dawn, Dusk and Midnight versions, Sunset, Moonlight, Sunset, Twilight, and Midnight versions are each 12 inches thick. The luxury versions are 14 inch thick. Plus measures 13 inches. Helix mattresses might require large pockets, as they could be viewed as high-profile.

We will be examining the construction and reviews for each Helix mattress. We’ll also be listing some of the potential benefits to help determine which model might work best for your needs.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. The foam layers absorb most movement. However, the comfort layers’ latex-like, polyfoam is more springy than regular memory foam. Due to the coil’s springiness, you might be able to see your partner’s movements throughout their night.

Dusk, Sunset have the highest motion absorption of any Helix model due to their memory foam layers.

The Plus features two comfort layers, which stop most coil motions contacting the mattress’ springy core.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses have a number of benefits, including pressure reduction. This can partly be attributed to the layers memory foam, polyfoam and pocketed coils. The foam is able to induce deep relaxation and self cradling, which can reduce pressure points like the hips. Side sleepers, or those who weigh less than 130 lbs., have different needs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The finest pressure relief is provided by the moonlight, dusk, sunset, and midnight, in part because of the plusher surfaces. The Plus is specially designed for heavier sleepers and may reduce pressure points. Twilight and Dawn have a harder sensation, which will increase resistance to pressure points. This reduces the efficacy these products in this area.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform well for hybrids when it comes down to sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses have a reputation for making you feel hot while you sleep. It often holds on to heat all night. However, these mattresses’ coils allow for air flow to help counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. To further reduce heat loss, the Plus comes with two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Each Helix model includes an encasement made from the coil’s inner core. The coil’s core is strengthened, so there is less sinkage when the person sits or lies on the edge of their bed. Every model has a different level support due to its structure and stiffness.

Twilight and Dawn offer the best edge support, thanks to their solid design. Due to their solid construction, they provide outstanding edge support. Dusk or Midnight, plus provide adequate support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset are the most luxurious models. They offer more support for your spine, while also allowing you to sleep closer to the edge. They offer the most edge support among all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. It is difficult to walk on the surface because to the deep cradling and sink provided by the softer Moonlight and the setting sun.

Twilight models and Dawn models feel more firm and pleasant. It is considerably simpler to shift about and get out of bed with the Dawn and Twilight models’ powerful pushback against the body.

The Line with a Plus bed has two layers of comfort. However, it’s a little more difficult to move than other hybrids.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The degree of conforming and sinking offered by the foam layers will vary depending on how they are designed. This can either enhance or diminish the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. Additionally, dusk and midnight are ideal times for sex. However, moonlight, sunset and sunrise will likely make things more difficult. These models have plush, soft surfaces that may restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models start with the same standard amount of “new-mattress scent” that all foam mattresses have.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix offers a number of various mattress options.

Helix mattresses can be described as hybrids because their coil cores make it easier for air to move around the entire bed. Because Helix mattresses are hybrids, odors will disappear faster than they would with an allfoam mattress.

If you are bothered by the smell, you can choose to expose the mattress in a well-ventilated area for a few more hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. The Moonlight is for those who enjoy a more comfortable environment.

Side sleepers between 130 and 220 pounds can use the Midnight or Dusk, which are firm and comfortable. Most people in this weight range will love the models’ combination for powerful contouring as well as support.

If you are a side-sleeper who is more than 230 lbs, the Plus and, to some extent, the Twilight will be your best choices. These models’ firmer feel will keep folks who fall into this type of side sleepers from sinking too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic Foam gives the Plus cushioning and bounce. And, because the Plus is built for larger individuals, the foam comfort layers provide the required cradling that relieves pressure from the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

Back sleeping typically requires a bit extra support and hardness, especially in the lumbar region to prevent sinking too deeply and causing spinal misalignment. Your spine will remain fairly level by how your back is placed on the bed.

Back sleepers tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than side sleepers, but not as stiff or flexible as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the best option for back sleepers under 130 pounds, depending on their needs. It provides the right amount of support and cushioning that this sleeping position requires.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. Back sleepers who fall within this weight range may be able to use the Plus or Twilight. Both offer sufficient cushioning for the spine and excellent support for the lower part of the back. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

The Plus, Twilight and Dawn are great choices for those who sleep on their backs and weigh more than 230 pounds. They provide excellent support to the weight range and prevent your hips from sinking in the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

The majority of someone’s weight is carried by their torsos. Stomach sleepers are more likely to put stress on their mattresses, and sink deeper than others. If they sink too far, they run the risk of pushing their spines out their normal alignment. This could lead to aches and pains later. Ultimately, stomach sleepers need a mattress that is firmer, more supportive, and has enough push-back to keep their backs in alignment.

Helix models that are thicker and more comfortable will suit stomach sleepers. They need a level surface to ensure proper spinal alignment. For those over 130lbs who wish to get a good night’s sleep, the Plus and Dawn may be a better choice. Because they are strong and supportive, the central portion of the mattress will reduce the chance of you losing weight. Therefore, a cushion that is comfortable will provide the support that stomach sleepers in this weight range require.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. However, heavier people will sink too far. The Twilight is also suitable for stomach sleepers who are lighter, especially those who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds.
