Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk, Dawn and Dawn were created with stomach and back sleepers as consideration. The Plus is specially designed for people who are larger. While Helix designs each mattress with certain weight categories and sleep positions in mind, some people may also like the way it feels.

With the exception of Plus, every model is available in both the Luxe and normal editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. The hips are supported while the shoulders drop farther. To give it a luxurious feel, the cushion’s top is quilted with Luxe Edition. Tencel covers encourage ventilation and aid in moisture removal. Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses are great at keeping you from moving. Foam layers absorb a lot of movement. However, the comfort layers’ latex-like, polyfoam is more springy than regular memory foam. The springiness emanating out of the coil’s center may allow you to detect your partner’s movements during the night.

The memory foam layers and soft feel of the Helix models make the Dusk and Sunset absorb the most motion than any other models.

Two comfort layers are included in the Plus, which keep most coil motions from reaching its springy coil core.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. You might be able to sleep more easily if your partner is not around.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses have a number of benefits, including pressure reduction. This can partly be attributed to the layers memory foam, polyfoam and pocketed coils. The foam enables deep relaxation and self-cradling, which may help take some of the pressure off of pressure points like the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers (or anyone below 130 lbs) have specific needs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. Firmer mattresses would be a better choice for those who sleep on the stomach or back, or who are more than 230lbs.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus is made especially for those who weigh more, and it may effectively alleviate pressure spots for people who sleep in this category. Twilight’s stronger sensation will cause sleepers to be more resistant to pressure points, which can decrease the efficacy and effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix hybrid mattresses are around average when it comes to cooling down.

Memory foam mattresses are known for heating you while you sleep. This is because it holds heat throughout the night. These mattresses have coils that allow air to circulate through them to counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. To further assist heat dissipation the Plus also includes two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Each Helix model features an encasement that’s strengthened in the coil’s core. It reduces sinkage when people sit or lay on the edges of their beds. However, owing in large part to the quality of the construction and stiffness, each model has a varying level of edge support.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. They provide excellent edge support due to their strong build. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. They provide the smallest amount of edge support than all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models, on the other hand, have a firmer, more pleasant sensation. It’s much easier to get up and move about with the Dawn/Twilight models’ strong pushback against your body.

The Line with a Plus bed has two layers of comfort. However, it’s a little more difficult to move than other hybrids.

Sex

Helix mattresses can provide spring and bounce due to their coil cores. This is something many couples love when having sex. The degree of conforming and sinking offered by the foam layers will vary depending on how they are designed. This can either enhance or diminish the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. Also, while dusk, night, and plus are great times to have sex, moonlight and sunset can make it more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces which may limit motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models come with the standard amount “new mattress scent” that is found in all foam mattresses.

This smell is often thought to be safe and goes away after a few days. Helix has many mattress options.

Helix hybrid mattresses have coil cores that allow for more air to flow across the entire bed. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

If the scent bothers you, you could choose to leave the mattress exposed in a well-ventilated space for a few hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. The mattress should allow the shoulders and hips to sink into it. This will help align the spine and relieve strain. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. People who prefer a more cozy atmosphere will love the Moonlight.

Side sleepers who are between 130 and 230 lbs should be able to use the Midnight/Dusk. The majority of sleepers in this weight range will enjoy the models’ blend of powerful contouring and support.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. People who fall into this category of side sleepers will feel the models’ firmer feeling and not sink too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

To prevent spinal misalignment, back sleeping usually requires a little more support and hardness, particularly in the lumbar area. You can ensure that your spine is fairly straight by placing your back on the mattress.

This is why back sleepers may choose mattresses that feel firmer than the side sleepers’, but not as stiff and comfortable as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight might be the best option for back-sleepers under 130 pounds depending on their needs. It provides the right amount of support and cushioning that this sleeping position requires.

The options are endless for people who weigh between 130 and 220 pounds. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. Both offer sufficient cushioning for the spine and excellent support for the lower part of the back. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

For those who weigh more over 230 pounds who sleep on their backs, the Plus, Twilight, and Dawn are great options. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Since torsos normally bear the majority of a person’s weight. Stomach sleepers are more likely to put stress on their mattresses, and sink deeper than others. If they fall too far, it can cause their spines to shift out of alignment. It can cause later aches and discomforts. These stomach sleepers should have a mattress that’s firmer, supportive, and provides enough support to maintain their spine alignment.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. Because of their support and hardness, the central region of the mattress can reduce the risk of weight loss. To provide stomach sleepers with this weight, a cushion which is comfortable will be sufficient.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight may be suitable for stomach-sleepers who are lighter than 130 to 230 lbs, especially if they weigh between 130 and 220 lb.
