The Helix series includes of seven primary variants to accommodate various sleeping preferences. Helix Mattress Ratings

Helix Sunset, Helix Moonlight, and Helix Sunset are the most soft versions. Helix Midnight (and Helix Dusk) are two models that fall within the medium category. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn and Helix Plus are the most used models. Helix Plus is the firmest model in the Helix Plus line.

Helix produces the Sunset. Helix considered side sleepers when designing the Sunset and Midnight, as well as the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight and Dawn, as well as Dusk & Dawn, were designed with stomach and back sleeping in mind. The Plus is especially made for those who are bigger. Helix has designed each mattress with specific weights in mind. Some people might also enjoy the way it feels.

Every model, except the Plus comes in both the Luxe or normal editions. This update is optional and extends coil support to provide zonal back support, which aids in better spinal alignment. The hips are supported while the shoulders drop farther. To give the cushion a plush feeling, the Luxe version of the top quilt is applied to it. Tencel covers allow for ventilation to the mattress and help remove moisture. Upgrades come with an additional 15-year warranty in addition the usual 10-year guarantee.

The standard versions of the Dawn, Dusk, Midnight, Moonlight, Sunset, and Twilight are 12 inches thick, while the luxurious versions are 14 inches thick. Plus is also 13 inches thick. Since Helix mattresses may be high-profile, you might need to have large pockets.

We will be examining the construction and reviews for each Helix mattress. We will also provide some possible benefits to help you make a decision about which model is best for you.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. The comfort layers’ latex-like polyfoam, however, is springier than ordinary memory foam. Because of the springiness emanating from the coil’s centre, you may be able detect your partner’s movements throughout a night.

Due to the memory foam layers and softer feel compared to the other Helix models, the Dusk and Sunset both absorb the most motion of all the Helix models.

Two comfort layers make up the Plus. They prevent most coil motions reaching the core of the springy coils.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

The amount of noise transferred to the mattress is therefore reduced. It is possible to rest better if you sleep at night, in the morning, or at night.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses offer pressure relief. This is partially due to the pocketsed coils, memory foam and polyfoam layers. The foam enables deep relaxation and self-cradling, which may help take some of the pressure off of pressure points like the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers and those under 130 lbs. are more demanding. Softer mattresses can better meet their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Dawn and Twilight’s harder sensation will result in higher resistance to pressure points on sleepers, which lessens the efficacy of these products in this region.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Because memory foam mattresses often retain heat, they can make you feel warm while you sleep. However, these mattresses’ coils allow for air flow to help counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. Two cooling covers are included with the Plus to further aid with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model includes an encasement made from the coil’s inner core. The coil’s core is strengthened, so there is less sinkage when the person sits or lies on the edge of their bed. Every model has a different level support due to its structure and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. Due to their solid construction, they provide outstanding edge support. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

The most luxurious models are Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset, so you’ll sink less while you sleep or sit close to the edge. These mattresses offer the most support at the edges than any other Helix mattress.

Ease of Movement

The model’s quality primarily sets the ease of movement apart as a separate class. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models on the other side have a firmer, pleasanter sensation. With the powerful pushback of the body, Dawn and Twilight models make it much easier to get out of bed.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses have coil cores that provide spring and bounce, which couples often enjoy when having sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. Additionally, dusk and midnight are ideal times for sex. However, moonlight, sunset and sunrise will likely make things more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces that can restrict movement.

Off-Gassing

Helix models come with the standard amount “new mattress scent” that is found in all foam mattresses.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix offers several mattress options.

Helix hybrid mattresses have coil cores that allow for more air to flow across the entire bed. This means that the odors from Helix mattresses will dissipate faster than they would from an all-foam one.

If you are bothered by the smell, you can choose to expose the mattress in a well-ventilated area for a few more hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideFinding a mattress with the ideal ratio of support to cushioning is the key to sleeping well on your side. For proper alignment and relief of strain, the hips and shoulders should be free to sink into a mattress. Mattresses with a “medium” feel, closer to the soft end of the range, are often preferred by side sleepers.

Side bed sleepers weighing less than 130 lbs will appreciate the soft padding in the Moonlight or Dusk models. The Moonlight is for those who enjoy a more comfortable environment.

The fairly firm Midnight and Dusk are best suited for side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. This weight range is the majority of those who will benefit from the models’ powerful contouring and support.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. This model’s firmer feel will help side sleepers not sink too deeply into their bed. Helix Dynamic Foam provides cushioning and bounce. The Plus is made for larger people. The foam comfort layers provide the needed cradling to relieve pressure on the hips and shoulders.

Back Sleepers

Side sleepers need less cushioning but still require support.

To prevent spinal misalignment, back sleeping usually requires a little more support and hardness, particularly in the lumbar area. Your spine will be fairly even if your back is positioned on the bed.

This is why side sleepers prefer mattresses that are firmer, but not as rigid as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the right choice for backs that weigh less than 130lbs. It depends on your needs. This mattress provides the perfect amount of support and cushioning for back sleepers.

A wide variety of options are available for those who weigh between 130 – 230 lbs. Back sleepers who fall within this weight range may be able to use the Plus or Twilight. They both provide sufficient plushness to support the spine and the lower back. Both Dawn and Dusk are excellent due to their solid support and moderate firmness.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. These pillows provide excellent support and help to keep hips from sinking into your mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Since torsos normally bear the majority of a person’s weight. Stomach sleepers put greater strain on their mattresses and have a propensity to sink deeper than other positions. If they are too far down, their spines could become twisted and form a U-shaped shape. This can lead to later aches, and pains. Ultimately, stomach sleepers need a mattress that is firmer, more supportive, and has enough push-back to keep their backs in alignment.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. Because of their support and hardness, the central region of the mattress can reduce the risk of weight loss. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. But, people who are heavier will not sink as deep. The Twilight may be suitable for stomach-sleepers who are lighter than 130 to 230 lbs, especially if they weigh between 130 and 220 lb.
