Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses are great at keeping you from moving. Foam layers absorb a lot of movement. However, the comfort layers’ latex-like, polyfoam is more springy than regular memory foam. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

The memory foam layers and soft feel of the Helix models make the Dusk and Sunset absorb the most motion than any other models.

Two comfort layers make up the Plus. They prevent most coil motions reaching the core of the springy coils.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

As a result, the noise transmitted over the mattress is less. It is possible to rest better if you sleep at night, in the morning, or at night.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. Side sleepers and anyone less than 130 lbs. have special needs. Softer mattresses are more suitable for side sleepers and those who weigh less than 130 lbs. For those who like to sleep on their stomach or back or who weigh more than 230 pounds, however, firmer mattresses are recommended.

The moonlight, sunset, sunrise, and night are the best times to relieve pressure. This is partly due to the plusher surfaces. The Plus is made especially for those who weigh more, and it may effectively alleviate pressure spots for people who sleep in this category. Due to Twilight and Dawn’s more intense sensations, sleepers will be less likely to experience pressure points. This can reduce the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform well for hybrids when it comes down to sleeping cool.

The memory foam mattress has a reputation for making you feel heated while you sleep since it often captures and holds onto heat all night. However, these mattresses’ coils allow for air flow to help counter heat loss.

The Dawn is more comfortable because of its firmness and lack sinkage. The Plus includes two cooling covers to help with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model includes an encasement made from the coil’s inner core. Because of this, sinkage is less when a person lies down or sits on the edge. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

Twilight and Dawn provide the best edge support because of their sturdy design. Their sturdy construction provides excellent edge support. Dusk, Midnight and Plus also provide enough support for the edges.

The most luxurious models are Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset, so you’ll sink less while you sleep or sit close to the edge. They provide the least amount of edge support of all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. The powerful pushback against the body of Dawn and Twilight models makes it easier to move around and get out from bed.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The degree of conforming and sinking offered by the foam layers will vary depending on how they are designed. This can either enhance or diminish the sexual experience.

Because of their smooth surfaces, the Helix Dawn’s and Twilight’s make it easy to move about. This makes them great for couples. In terms of sex, the ideal times are dusk to midnight and plus. However, moonlight or sunsets will be more difficult. These models may be restricted by their soft, plush surfaces.

Off-Gassing

Helix models come with the standard amount “new mattress scent” that is found in all foam mattresses.

The smell is usually considered safe and disappears after a few days. Helix offers a number of various mattress options.

Because Helix mattresses are hybrids, their coil cores provide more air to move across the whole bed. This means that the odors from Helix mattresses will dissipate faster than they would from an all-foam one.

You can leave the mattress open for a few hours if the smell bothers you.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideThe key to a good night’s sleep is finding the right mattress that provides the perfect balance of support and cushioning. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers are more comfortable with mattresses that feel “medium”, closer to the soft range.

Side bed sleepers weighing less than 130 lbs will appreciate the soft padding in the Moonlight or Dusk models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

The Midnight and Dusk models are best for side sleepers weighing between 130-230 pounds. These sleepers will appreciate the models’ combination of strong contouring and support.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. People who are side sleepers will not sink too deeply into these models due to their firmer feel. Helix Dynamic Faam layers give cushioning and bounce. Plus models are designed for larger people. Foam comfort layers provide the necessary support to alleviate pressure on the shoulders.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

To prevent spinal misalignment, back sleeping usually requires a little more support and hardness, particularly in the lumbar area. You can ensure that your spine is fairly straight by placing your back on the mattress.

This is why back sleepers choose mattresses that have a firmer feel than side sleepers and not as stiff as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight is a good option for back sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. This mattress provides the perfect amount of support and cushioning for back sleepers.

People who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds have many options. Back sleepers that fall into this weight range might do well in the Twilight or the Plus. Both offer enough cushioning to cushion the spine, and support for the lower back. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

The Plus, Twilight and Dawn are great choices for those who sleep on their backs and weigh more than 230 pounds. To prevent hips from sinking into the mattress, they provide great support for the weight range.

Stomach Sleepers

As the main weight bearing part of a person’s body, torsos are usually heavier. Stomach sleepers place greater stress on their mattresses and are more likely to sink further than in other positions. If they sink too far, they run the risk of pushing their spines out their normal alignment. It could cause aches or pains in the future. Stomach sleepers require a mattress that is firmer and more supportive. It should also have enough push-back to support their backs.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. The Plus and Dawn are good options for those who weigh over 130 pounds and want to sleep well. The central region of the mattress is sturdy enough to reduce the possibility of excessive weight loss thanks to their hardness and support. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

Because it is medium-firm, the Midnight is suitable for stomach sleepers less than 130 pounds. Heavy people may sink too much. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
