Helix is responsible for the Sunset. Helix kept side sleepers in mind when creating the Sunset, Midnight and Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk and Dawn are designed with stomach sleepers and backs in mind. The Plus is made especially for larger people. Helix creates each mattress to fit specific weight categories and sleeping positions. However, it may be appreciated by some who like its feel.

Except for the Plus, all models are available in the normal and luxe editions. This update is optional and extends coil support to provide zonal back support, which aids in better spinal alignment. This is accomplished by supporting the hips while allowing the shoulders to descend farther. To give the cushion a plush feeling, the Luxe version of the top quilt is applied to it. Tencel covers allow for ventilation to the mattress and help remove moisture. Along with the 10-year guarantee, the upgrade also includes a 15-year warranty.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses have a great track record of preventing movement. A lot of movement is often absorbed by foam layers. The comfort layers’ latex like polyfoam are springier that ordinary memory foam. Because of the springiness emanating from the coil’s centre, you may be able detect your partner’s movements throughout a night.

Dusk & Sunset absorb the most movement of all Helix models due to their memory foam layers.

Two comfort layers are included in the Plus, which keep most coil motions from reaching its springy coil core.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

The amount of noise transferred to the mattress is therefore reduced. It is possible to rest better if you sleep at night, in the morning, or at night.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. For those who like to sleep on their stomach or back or who weigh more than 230 pounds, however, firmer mattresses are recommended.

Because of their plusher surfaces, the moonlight, dusk-sunset, sunset and midnight provide the most effective pressure relief. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Twilight and Dawn will have a stronger sensation which will make it more difficult for sleepers to feel pressure points. This decreases the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform about average in hybrids for cooling down when it comes sleeping.

The memory foam mattress has a reputation for making you feel heated while you sleep since it often captures and holds onto heat all night. To counter heat loss, the coils of these mattresses allow air to flow through to aid in cooling.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. The Plus includes two cooling covers to help with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model features an encasement that’s strengthened in the coil’s core. It reduces sinkage when people sit or lay on the edges of their beds. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. These strong, sturdy products also provide great edge support. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight or Sunset are the most expensive models. This means that you will sink less when you sleep, and you can sit closer to the edge. These mattresses offer the most support at the edges than any other Helix mattress.

Ease of Movement

The model’s quality primarily sets the ease of movement apart as a separate class. It is hard to walk on the ground due to the sinking Moonlight, which is softer than the Sun.

Twilight and Dawn models however, feel firmer and more comfortable. Due to the strong pushback of the Dawn or Twilight models against the body, it is much easier for you to move about and get out.

The Line with a Plus bed has two layers of comfort. However, it’s a little more difficult to move than other hybrids.

Sex

Helix mattresses are known for their coil cores which provide some spring and bounce. Many couples enjoy Helix mattress sex. The degree of conforming and sinking offered by the foam layers will vary depending on how they are designed. This can either enhance or diminish the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. In terms of sex, the ideal times are dusk to midnight and plus. However, moonlight or sunsets will be more difficult. These models have plush, soft surface that could restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

This is a common smell that is considered to be safe and usually disappears within a few days. Helix offers many different mattress options.

Helix mattresses that are hybrids have more air circulation because of their coil cores. Because Helix mattresses are hybrids, odors will disappear faster than they would with an allfoam mattress.

If the scent bothers you, you could choose to leave the mattress exposed in a well-ventilated space for a few hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideTo sleep well on your side, you need a mattress that offers the right balance of support and cushioning. To relieve strain and align the spine, the hips and shoulders need to be free to sink into the mattress. Mattresses with a “medium” feel, closer to the soft end of the range, are often preferred by side sleepers.

Side sleepers under 130 pounds will love the plush padding of the Moonlight and Dusk models. People who prefer a more cozy atmosphere will love the Moonlight.

Side sleepers between 130 and 220 pounds can use the Midnight or Dusk, which are firm and comfortable. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. These models’ firmer feel will keep folks who fall into this type of side sleepers from sinking too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic Foam gives the Plus cushioning and bounce. And, because the Plus is built for larger individuals, the foam comfort layers provide the required cradling that relieves pressure from the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Side sleepers need less cushioning but still require support.

To prevent spinal misalignment, back sleeping usually requires a little more support and hardness, particularly in the lumbar area. The posture of your back on the bed ensures that your spine is reasonably even.

This is why back sleepers may choose mattresses that feel firmer than the side sleepers’, but not as stiff and comfortable as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the best option for back sleepers under 130 pounds, depending on their needs. It provides the ideal amount of cushioning and support for this sleeping posture.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. Back sleepers that fall into this weight range might do well in the Twilight or the Plus. Both offer enough support to the lower back and spine with sufficient plushness. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

For those who weigh more over 230 pounds who sleep on their backs, the Plus, Twilight, and Dawn are great options. They offer great support for weight ranges to prevent hips and backs from sinking under the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

As the main weight bearing part of a person’s body, torsos are usually heavier. Stomach sleepers tend to be more prone to sinking than other positions, putting greater pressure on their mattresses. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. It can cause later aches and discomforts. The bottom line is that stomach sleepers need a mattress which is firmer, more supportive and offers enough support to align their backs.

Helix models with a firmer surface will be the most comfortable for stomach sleepers. This is because they require a level surface for proper spinal alignment. For those over 130lbs who wish to get a good night’s sleep, the Plus and Dawn may be a better choice. Due to its hardness and support, the central area of the mattress is strong enough to prevent excessive weight loss. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. For heavier people, however, the Midnight will sink too deep. The Twilight might be suitable for stomach sleepers with lighter weights, particularly those who weigh between 130-230 pounds.
