Overview Helix Mattress Seattle

Helix, a mattress manufacturer selling direct to consumers, is known for its sleep studies. This quiz helps you determine the ideal mattress by analyzing your body, weight, sleeping style, and preferred sleeping position. The Helix series has seven different variants that will suit various sleeping preferences. Helix Mattress Seattle

Helix Sunset & Helix Moonlight: These are the softest models from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight or Helix Dusk would be two examples of the medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn Helix Plus and Helix Plus have the most common use models. Helix Plus is the firmest model in the Helix Plus line.

The Sunset is produced by Helix. Helix kept side sleepers in mind when creating the Sunset, Midnight and Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight and Dawn, as well as Dusk & Dawn, were designed with stomach and back sleeping in mind. The Plus is made especially for larger people. Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

All models, except for the Plus edition, come in both the Luxe as well as the normal editions. This update is optional and extends coil support to provide zonal back support, which aids in better spinal alignment. The hips are supported while the shoulders drop farther. The top of the cushion is quilted in the Luxe edition to give it a plusher feel. The Tencel cover promotes ventilation into the mattress while assisting in the removal of moisture. Along with the 10-year guarantee, the upgrade also includes a 15-year warranty.

The Dawn, Dusk and Midnight versions, Sunset, Moonlight, Sunset, Twilight, and Midnight versions are each 12 inches thick. The luxury versions are 14 inch thick. Plus measures 13 inches. The Helix mattress may need large pockets as any of these heights could be regarded high-profile.

We will review the specifications, construction, and customer reviews for each Helix mattress. We will also provide some possible benefits to help you make a decision about which model is best for you.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. A lot of movement is often absorbed by foam layers. The comfort layers’ latex like polyfoam are springier that ordinary memory foam. Due to the coil’s springiness, you might be able to see your partner’s movements throughout their night.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

Two comfort layers make up the Plus. They prevent most coil motions reaching the core of the springy coils.

As a result, less vibration may travel over the surface of the mattress.

The amount of noise transferred to the mattress is therefore reduced. Motion transmission is modest during moonlight, dawn, and midnight, which might lessen the impact of your partner’s movements on your ability to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses have a number of benefits, including pressure reduction. This can partly be attributed to the layers memory foam, polyfoam and pocketed coils. The foam allows deep relaxation and self-cradling which may reduce pressure on pressure points like the hips, shoulders and hips. Side sleepers (or anyone below 130 lbs) have specific needs. Softer mattresses can better meet their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The moonlight, sunset, sunrise, and night are the best times to relieve pressure. This is partly due to the plusher surfaces. The Plus is specially designed for heavier sleepers and may reduce pressure points. Twilight and Dawn will have a stronger sensation which will make it more difficult for sleepers to feel pressure points. This decreases the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. The coils in these mattresses allow for air to flow through them, which helps to reduce heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness, and lack of sinkage, makes it more comfortable than other types. To aid heat dissipation, two cooling covers are included in the Plus.

Edge Support

Every Helix model is equipped with an encasement, which is strengthened within its core. The coil’s core is strengthened, so there is less sinkage when the person sits or lies on the edge of their bed. Each model is different in terms of how supportive it provides edge support. This is due to the quality of its construction and stiffness.

For instance, due to their sturdy design, the Dawn and Twilight provide the best edge support. Their sturdy construction provides excellent edge support. Dusk, Midnight and Plus also provide enough support for the edges.

The most luxurious models are Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset, so you’ll sink less while you sleep or sit close to the edge. They provide the smallest amount of edge support than all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s quality primarily sets the ease of movement apart as a separate class. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight models and Dawn models feel more firm and pleasant. The powerful pushback against the body of Dawn and Twilight models makes it easier to move around and get out from bed.

The Line with Plus’s plush comfort system with two layers may make it more difficult to move, but the firmness of the mattress still allows for enough movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The level of conforming or sinking of the foam layers can affect how sexual experiences are enhanced or diminished depending on the mattress design.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. Also, while dusk, night, and plus are great times to have sex, moonlight and sunset can make it more difficult. These models may be restricted by their soft, plush surfaces.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

This smell is often thought to be safe and goes away after a few days. Helix has many mattress options.

Because Helix mattresses are hybrids, their coil cores provide more air to move across the whole bed. Therefore, the odors of Helix mattresses will dissipate more quickly than with all-foam mattresses.

If you are bothered by the smell, you can choose to expose the mattress in a well-ventilated area for a few more hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideYou can sleep comfortably on your side if you find the right combination of support and cushioning in a mattress. To align the spine and alleviate strain, the hips should not be pressed against the mattress. Side sleepers often prefer mattresses that have a “medium” feel. This is closer to the soft side of the range.

Side bed sleepers weighing less than 130 lbs will appreciate the soft padding in the Moonlight or Dusk models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

Side sleepers between 130 to 230 pounds are best suited for the Midnight and Dusk’s firmness. This weight range is the majority of those who will benefit from the models’ powerful contouring and support.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. This model’s firmer feel will help side sleepers not sink too deeply into their bed. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

The same goes for back sleepers. However, they need more support and contouring than side sleepers.

Back sleeping typically requires a bit extra support and hardness, especially in the lumbar region to prevent sinking too deeply and causing spinal misalignment. The posture of your back on the bed ensures that your spine is reasonably even.

Back sleepers tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than side sleepers, but not as stiff or flexible as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight is a good option for back sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. It provides the right amount of support and cushioning that this sleeping position requires.

The options are endless for people who weigh between 130 and 220 pounds. The Plus or Twilight might be a good choice for back sleepers who are in this weight range. Both offer enough cushioning to cushion the spine, and support for the lower back. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. These pillows provide excellent support and help to keep hips from sinking into your mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because the majority of an individual’s weight is in their torsos, Stomach sleepers place greater stress on their mattresses and are more likely to sink further than in other positions. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. This can lead to later aches, and pains. These stomach sleepers should have a mattress that’s firmer, supportive, and provides enough support to maintain their spine alignment.

For stomach sleepers who need a flat surface to maintain proper spine alignment, the firmer Helix models will be more comfortable. People who are more than 130 lbs and who wish to sleep well may choose the Plus or Dawn. Because they are strong and supportive, the central portion of the mattress will reduce the chance of you losing weight. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

Because it feels medium firm, the Midnight is best for stomach sleepers weighing less than 130lbs. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight is also suitable for stomach sleepers who are lighter, especially those who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds.
