Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

Every model, except the Plus comes in both the Luxe or normal editions. The update, which is optional, extends the coil system to provide zonal lumbar support to aid in more effective spinal alignment. The hips are supported while the shoulders drop farther. Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses are very good at controlling movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. The latex-like polyfoam of comfort layers is, however, springier than ordinary memory. Because of the springiness emanating from the coil’s centre, you may be able detect your partner’s movements throughout a night.

Dusk, Sunset have the highest motion absorption of any Helix model due to their memory foam layers.

The Plus also has two comfort layers that prevent most coil movements from reaching the springy core of the mattress.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

One of the benefits of Helix mattresses is pressure reduction, which is partly attributable to the layers of memory foam, polyfoam, and pocketed coils. The foam allows deep relaxation and self-cradling which may reduce pressure on pressure points like the hips, shoulders and hips. Side sleepers and those under 130 lbs. are more demanding. Softer mattresses can better meet their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

Because of their plusher surfaces, the moonlight, dusk-sunset, sunset and midnight provide the most effective pressure relief. The Plus is made especially for those who weigh more, and it may effectively alleviate pressure spots for people who sleep in this category. Twilight’s stronger sensation will cause sleepers to be more resistant to pressure points, which can decrease the efficacy and effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform about average in hybrids for cooling down when it comes sleeping.

Memory foam mattresses have a reputation for making you feel hot while you sleep. It often holds on to heat all night. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness combined with its lack of sinkage make it cooler than any other type. To aid heat dissipation, two cooling covers are included in the Plus.

Edge Support

Each Helix model features an encasement that’s strengthened in the coil’s core. This reduces sinkage when someone lies on their back or sits on their bed edge. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. Their sturdy construction provides excellent edge support. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight or Sunset are the most expensive models. This means that you will sink less when you sleep, and you can sit closer to the edge. They offer the most edge support among all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. The deep sinking Moonlight and setting sun make it difficult to walk on this surface.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. With the powerful pushback of the body, Dawn and Twilight models make it much easier to get out of bed.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses provide some spring and bounce thanks to their coil cores. Many couples find this a great option for sex. The level of conforming or sinking of the foam layers can affect how sexual experiences are enhanced or diminished depending on the mattress design.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces make it easy for couples to move around. In terms of sex, the ideal times are dusk to midnight and plus. However, moonlight or sunsets will be more difficult. These models have plush, soft surfaces that may restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix offers several mattress options.

Helix mattresses can be described as hybrids because their coil cores make it easier for air to move around the entire bed. As a result, the odors will dissipate quicker than they would with an all-foam mattress.

If the smell is bothersome, you might leave the mattress out in a well-ventilated place for a few days.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideYou can sleep comfortably on your side if you find the right combination of support and cushioning in a mattress. The mattress should allow the shoulders and hips to sink into it. This will help align the spine and relieve strain. Side sleepers are more comfortable with mattresses that feel “medium”, closer to the soft range.

Side bed sleepers weighing less than 130 lbs will appreciate the soft padding in the Moonlight or Dusk models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

The Midnight and Dusk models are best for side sleepers weighing between 130-230 pounds. This weight range is the majority of those who will benefit from the models’ powerful contouring and support.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. These models’ firmer feel will keep folks who fall into this type of side sleepers from sinking too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic Foam provides cushioning and bounce. The Plus is made for larger people. The foam comfort layers provide the needed cradling to relieve pressure on the hips and shoulders.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers also need a combination of support and contouring. But they require less cushioning than side-sleepers.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. Your spine should be balanced by the position of your back on a bed.

Back sleepers tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than side sleepers, but not as stiff or flexible as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight might be the best option for back-sleepers under 130 pounds depending on their needs. This mattress provides the perfect amount of support and cushioning for back sleepers.

A wide variety of options are available for those who weigh between 130 – 230 lbs. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. They both provide sufficient plushness to support the spine and the lower back. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

The Plus, Twilight, or Dawn are great options for people who are heavier than 230 lbs and sleep on their stomachs. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

The majority of someone’s weight is carried by their torsos. Stomach-sleepers are more likely than other sleepers to place greater strain on their mattresses. They also tend to sink deeper than those in other positions. If they sink too far, they run the risk of pushing their spines out their normal alignment. This can lead to later aches, and pains. Stomach sleepers will need a mattress with more support, firmness, and enough push-back so that their backs align.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. Those who weigh more than 130 pounds who want to sleep well might choose the Plus and Dawn. The central region of the mattress is sturdy enough to reduce the possibility of excessive weight loss thanks to their hardness and support. To provide stomach sleepers with this weight, a cushion which is comfortable will be sufficient.

Because it feels medium-firm, The Midnight is ideal for stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 lbs. However, heavier people will sink too far. For stomach sleepers who are lighter in weight, especially those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, the Twilight may also be appropriate.
