Overview Helix Mattress Types

A direct-to-consumer mattress manufacturer called Helix is renowned for its sleep study. This quiz helps you determine the ideal mattress by analyzing your body, weight, sleeping style, and preferred sleeping position. The Helix series has seven different variants that will suit various sleeping preferences. Helix Mattress Types

Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight are the softest versions available from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight is one example of a medium model. Helix Dusk is another. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn, Helix Plus, and Helix Plus are three of the most commonly used models. Helix Plus are the strongest models in this line.

Helix is responsible for the Sunset. Helix has side sleepers in mind while designing the Sunset, the Midnight, and the Twilight. Lunar Light The Midnight, Dusk, and Dawn have been designed with stomach and back sleepers in mind. The Plus is made especially for larger people. Helix makes each mattress with specific weights and sleep positions in mind. But, for some people, the Plus may feel great.

Every model, except the Plus comes in both the Luxe or normal editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This is accomplished by supporting the hips while allowing the shoulders to descend farther. The Luxe edition of the quilt is used on the top to give the cushion a plush feel. Tencel cover allows for better ventilation of the mattress, while also removing moisture. Along with the 10-year guarantee, the upgrade also includes a 15-year warranty.

The Dawn, Dusk and Midnight versions, Sunset, Moonlight, Sunset, Twilight, and Midnight versions are each 12 inches thick. The luxury versions are 14 inch thick. Plus is also 13 in thick. The Helix mattress may need large pockets as any of these heights could be regarded high-profile.

We’ll be looking at the features, construction, reviews, and other aspects of each Helix mattress. We’ll also highlight some of the possible benefits so you can choose which model suits you best.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. However, comfort layers’ latex-like memory foam is much springier than regular memory foam. Because of the springiness emanating from the coil’s centre, you may be able detect your partner’s movements throughout a night.

Dusk & Sunset absorb the most movement of all Helix models due to their memory foam layers.

Two comfort layers are included in the Plus, which keep most coil motions from reaching its springy coil core.

As a result, less vibration may travel over the surface of the mattress.

As a result, the noise transmitted over the mattress is less. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses offer pressure relief. This is partially due to the pocketsed coils, memory foam and polyfoam layers. The foam allows deep relaxation and self-cradling which may reduce pressure on pressure points like the hips, shoulders and hips. Side sleepers (or anyone below 130 lbs) have specific needs. Softer mattresses provide better support. Firmer mattresses may be recommended for those who want to lie on their stomachs or backs and who are heavier than 230 lbs.

Moonlight, dusk and sunset provide the best pressure relief, partly because they have plusher surfaces. The Plus was designed specifically for those with more weight and may be effective in relieving pressure points for those who fall into this category. Dawn and Twilight’s harder sensation will result in higher resistance to pressure points on sleepers, which lessens the efficacy of these products in this region.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform about average in hybrids for cooling down when it comes sleeping.

Memory foam mattresses have a reputation for making you feel hot while you sleep. It often holds on to heat all night. However, these mattresses’ coils allow for air flow to help counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness and lack of sinkage help it sleep cooler than the other types. To further assist heat dissipation the Plus also includes two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Every Helix model comes with an encasement which is reinforced within the core of the coil. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. Because to their sturdy build, they also provide superb edge support. Dusk or Midnight, plus provide adequate support for the edges.

The most luxurious models are Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset, so you’ll sink less while you sleep or sit close to the edge. These mattresses offer the most support at the edges than any other Helix mattress.

Ease of Movement

The model’s quality primarily sets the ease of movement apart as a separate class. Because of the sinking Moonlight and setting sun, it is very difficult to walk on the surface.

Twilight and Dawn models, on the other hand, have a firmer, more pleasant sensation. With the powerful pushback of the body, Dawn and Twilight models make it much easier to get out of bed.

The Line with the Plus has a two-layer comfort system. Although it is a bit more difficult than other hybrids to move on, the bed’s firmness allows for sufficient movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses have coil cores that provide spring and bounce, which couples often enjoy when having sex. The level of conforming or sinking of the foam layers can affect how sexual experiences are enhanced or diminished depending on the mattress design.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. Also, while dusk, night, and plus are great times to have sex, moonlight and sunset can make it more difficult. These models have plush, soft surface that could restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models come with the standard amount “new mattress scent” that is found in all foam mattresses.

This is a common smell that is considered to be safe and usually disappears within a few days. Helix has many mattress options.

Helix hybrid mattresses have coil cores that allow for more air to flow across the entire bed. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

If the scent bothers you, you could choose to leave the mattress exposed in a well-ventilated space for a few hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideThe key to a good night’s sleep is finding the right mattress that provides the perfect balance of support and cushioning. The mattress should allow the shoulders and hips to sink into it. This will help align the spine and relieve strain. Side sleepers will prefer mattresses with a more “medium” feel. They are closer to softening the range.

Side bed sleepers less than 130lbs will enjoy the plush padding on the Moonlight and Dusk models. For those who want a cozier environment, the Moonlight is an excellent choice.

The fairly firm Midnight and Dusk are best suited for side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. This weight range is the majority of those who will benefit from the models’ powerful contouring and support.

If you are a side-sleeper who is more than 230 lbs, the Plus and, to some extent, the Twilight will be your best choices. This model’s firmer feel will help side sleepers not sink too deeply into their bed. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers likewise want a mix of support and contouring, but they want less cushioning than side sleepers do.

For back sleep to be comfortable, you will need to provide support and firmness in the lumbar region. This is important to avoid sinking too deep and creating spinal misalignment. Your spine will remain fairly level by how your back is placed on the bed.

This is why back sleepers often choose mattresses that are firmer than those preferred by side sleepers but not as stiff as those preferred by stomach sleepers.

The Midnight might be the best option for back-sleepers under 130 pounds depending on their needs. It offers the ideal amount support and cushioning to this sleeping position.

The options are endless for people who weigh between 130 and 220 pounds. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

The Plus and Twilight mattresses are excellent options for those who weigh over 230lbs who sleep on the back. These pillows provide excellent support and help to keep hips from sinking into your mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach sleepers put greater strain on their mattresses and have a propensity to sink deeper than other positions. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. It could cause aches or pains in the future. The bottom line is that stomach sleepers need a mattress which is firmer, more supportive and offers enough support to align their backs.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. Because they are strong and supportive, the central portion of the mattress will reduce the chance of you losing weight. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

The Midnight is appropriate for stomach sleepers under 130 pounds since it feels medium-firm. For heavier people, however, the Midnight will sink too deep. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
