Helix produces the Sunset. Helix considered side sleepers when designing the Sunset and Midnight, as well as the Twilight. Lunar Light, Dusk and Dawn were designed with stomach- and back sleepers at heart. The Plus is specially designed for people who are larger. While Helix designs each mattress with certain weight categories and sleep positions in mind, some people may also like the way it feels.

All models, except for the Plus edition, come in both the Luxe as well as the normal editions. This update is optional and extends coil support to provide zonal back support, which aids in better spinal alignment. The hips are supported while the shoulders drop farther. The top of the cushion is quilted in the Luxe edition to give it a plusher feel. Tencel covers allow for ventilation to the mattress and help remove moisture. Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses have a great track record of preventing movement. Many movements are absorbed by the foam layers. The comfort layers’ latex-like polyfoam, however, is springier than ordinary memory foam. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

Two comfort layers are included in the Plus, which keep most coil motions from reaching its springy coil core.

The mattress may feel less vibratory because of this.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses offer pressure relief. This is partially due to the pocketsed coils, memory foam and polyfoam layers. The foam is able to induce deep relaxation and self cradling, which can reduce pressure points like the hips. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. Firmer mattresses would be a better choice for those who sleep on the stomach or back, or who are more than 230lbs.

Because of their plusher surfaces, the moonlight, dusk-sunset, sunset and midnight provide the most effective pressure relief. The Plus was designed specifically for those with more weight and may be effective in relieving pressure points for those who fall into this category. Twilight’s stronger sensation will cause sleepers to be more resistant to pressure points, which can decrease the efficacy and effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses are known for heating you while you sleep. This is because it holds heat throughout the night. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn is more comfortable because of its firmness and lack sinkage. Two cooling covers are included with the Plus to further aid with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model has an encasement that is strengthened within the coil’s core. It reduces sinkage when people sit or lay on the edges of their beds. Each model is different in terms of how supportive it provides edge support. This is due to the quality of its construction and stiffness.

Twilight and Dawn offer the best edge support, thanks to their solid design. Because to their sturdy build, they also provide superb edge support. Dusk or Midnight, plus provide adequate support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight, Sunset and Sunset are the most luxurious models. You’ll feel less sinking while you sleep or be close to the edge. They have the lowest edge support of all Helix mattress models.

Ease of Movement

The ease of movement is primarily determined by the model’s quality. It is hard to walk on the ground due to the sinking Moonlight, which is softer than the Sun.

Twilight and Dawn models, on the other hand, have a firmer, more pleasant sensation. It is considerably simpler to shift about and get out of bed with the Dawn and Twilight models’ powerful pushback against the body.

The Line with the Plus has a two-layer comfort system. Although it is a bit more difficult than other hybrids to move on, the bed’s firmness allows for sufficient movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses have coil cores that provide spring and bounce, which couples often enjoy when having sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight’s smooth surfaces make moving about simpler, making them the best options for couples. Dusk, midnight, plus, and plus are the best times for sex. Moonlight and sunset, however, will make it more challenging. These models may be restricted by their soft, plush surfaces.

Off-Gassing

Helix models are initially equipped with the standard “new mattress fragrance” which is common for all foam mattresses.

This is a common smell that is considered to be safe and usually disappears within a few days. Helix offers many different mattress options.

Helix mattresses are hybrids. Their coil cores allow more air to circulate across the bed because they have multiple coils. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

You could leave the mattress unventilated for a couple of hours if you find the scent to be bothersome.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers under 130 pounds will love the plush padding of the Moonlight and Dusk models. People who prefer a more cozy atmosphere will love the Moonlight.

Side sleepers between 130 to 230 pounds are best suited for the Midnight and Dusk’s firmness. Most people in this weight range will love the models’ combination for powerful contouring as well as support.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. People who fall into this category of side sleepers will feel the models’ firmer feeling and not sink too deep into their beds. The Helix Dynamic Foam layer gives cushioning and bounce, and since the Plus is designed for bigger persons, the foam comfort layers provide the necessary cradling that relieves pressure on the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers likewise want a mix of support and contouring, but they want less cushioning than side sleepers do.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. Your spine will remain fairly level by how your back is placed on the bed.

This is why side sleepers prefer mattresses that are firmer, but not as rigid as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight is a good option for back sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. It provides the right amount of support and cushioning that this sleeping position requires.

People who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds have many options. Back sleepers who fall within this weight range may be able to use the Plus or Twilight. Both offer enough cushioning to cushion the spine, and support for the lower back. Both Dawn and Dusk are excellent due to their solid support and moderate firmness.

The Plus, Twilight and Dawn are great choices for those who sleep on their backs and weigh more than 230 pounds. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because the majority of an individual’s weight is in their torsos, Stomach sleepers are more likely to put stress on their mattresses, and sink deeper than others. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. It can cause later aches and discomforts. These stomach sleepers should have a mattress that’s firmer, supportive, and provides enough support to maintain their spine alignment.

The firmer Helix versions will be most comfortable for stomach sleepers, who require a level surface to preserve proper spinal alignment and alignment. People who are more than 130 lbs and who wish to sleep well may choose the Plus or Dawn. The central region of the mattress is sturdy enough to reduce the possibility of excessive weight loss thanks to their hardness and support. So a cushion that’s comfortable will give stomach sleepers in this range the support they need.

Because it is medium-firm, the Midnight is suitable for stomach sleepers less than 130 pounds. But, people who are heavier will not sink as deep. For stomach sleepers who are lighter in weight, especially those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, the Twilight may also be appropriate.
