Helix Mattress Which Side Is Up

Overview Helix Mattress Which Side Is Up

Helix, a direct-to-consumer mattress company, is well-known for its sleep studies. This quiz will help you choose the right mattress based upon your body weight, preferred position and sleeping style. There are seven options in the Helix series that can be used to meet different preferences. Helix Mattress Which Side Is Up

Helix Moonlight and the Sunset The softest versions from the manufacturer are Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight. Helix Midnight, Helix Dusk and Helix Twilight are two examples for medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn Helix Plus and Helix Plus have the most common use models. The line’s firmest models are Helix Plus.

The Sunset is produced by Helix. Helix was conscious of side sleepers while creating the Sunset (the Midnight) and the Twilight. Lunar Light The Midnight, Dusk, and Dawn have been designed with stomach and back sleepers in mind. The Plus was designed specifically for those with larger bodies. While Helix designs each mattress with certain weight categories and sleep positions in mind, some people may also like the way it feels.

Except for the Plus, all models are available in the normal and luxe editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This is accomplished by supporting the hips while allowing the shoulders to descend farther. To give it a luxurious feel, the cushion’s top is quilted with Luxe Edition. The Tencel cover promotes ventilation into the mattress while assisting in the removal of moisture. Along with the 10-year guarantee, the upgrade also includes a 15-year warranty.

Standard versions of the Dawn and Dusk, Midnight, Moonlight and Sunset are 12 inches thick. The luxurious versions are 14 inches. Plus is also 13 in thick. Helix mattresses could need substantial pockets since any of these heights might be regarded as high-profile.

We’ll examine the features, construction, and reviews of each of these Helix mattresses. We’ll also highlight some of the possible benefits so you can choose which model suits you best.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. Many movements are absorbed by the foam layers. The comfort layers’ latex like polyfoam are springier that ordinary memory foam. Due to the coil’s springiness, you might be able to see your partner’s movements throughout their night.

Dusk & Sunset absorb the most movement of all Helix models due to their memory foam layers.

The Plus features two comfort layers, which stop most coil motions contacting the mattress’ springy core.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

The quantity of noise that is transferred over the mattress is reduced as a result. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. The foam is able to induce deep relaxation and self cradling, which can reduce pressure points like the hips. Side sleepers and anyone less than 130 lbs. have special needs. Softer mattresses are more suitable for side sleepers and those who weigh less than 130 lbs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for those who prefer to sleep on their stomachs or backs or for those who weigh over 230 pounds.

The moonlight, sunset, sunrise, and night are the best times to relieve pressure. This is partly due to the plusher surfaces. The Plus is specially designed for heavier sleepers and may reduce pressure points. Due to Twilight and Dawn’s more intense sensations, sleepers will be less likely to experience pressure points. This can reduce the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix hybrid mattresses are around average when it comes to cooling down.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. The coils in these mattresses allow for air to flow through them, which helps to reduce heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness combined with its lack of sinkage make it cooler than any other type. To aid heat dissipation, two cooling covers are included in the Plus.

Edge Support

Each Helix model features an encasement that’s strengthened in the coil’s core. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. However, owing in large part to the quality of the construction and stiffness, each model has a varying level of edge support.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. These strong, sturdy products also provide great edge support. Dusk, Midnight, or Plus are sufficient to support the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight or Sunset are the most expensive models. This means that you will sink less when you sleep, and you can sit closer to the edge. They have the lowest edge support of all Helix mattress models.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models on the other side have a firmer, pleasanter sensation. It’s much easier to get up and move about with the Dawn/Twilight models’ strong pushback against your body.

The two-layer comfort system of the Line with the Plus may make the bed a little harder to move about on than other hybrids, but the firmness still allows for a sufficient amount of movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. Depending on the design of the mattress, the degree of conforming and sinking provided by the foam layers may enhance or detract from the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. In terms of sex, the ideal times are dusk to midnight and plus. However, moonlight or sunsets will be more difficult. These models may be restricted by their soft, plush surfaces.

Off-Gassing

Helix models start with the same standard amount of “new-mattress scent” that all foam mattresses have.

This smell is often thought to be safe and goes away after a few days. Helix offers several mattress options.

Helix mattresses are hybrids. Their coil cores allow more air to circulate across the bed because they have multiple coils. Therefore, the odors of Helix mattresses will dissipate more quickly than with all-foam mattresses.

If the scent bothers you, you could choose to leave the mattress exposed in a well-ventilated space for a few hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. To align the spine and alleviate strain, the hips should not be pressed against the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers under 130 pounds will love the plush padding of the Moonlight and Dusk models. People who prefer a more cozy atmosphere will love the Moonlight.

The Midnight and Dusk models are best for side sleepers weighing between 130-230 pounds. These sleepers will appreciate the models’ combination of strong contouring and support.

If you are a side sleeping person who weighs more than 230lbs, the Plus, and to a lesser extent the Twilight, are your best options. These models’ firmer feel will keep folks who fall into this type of side sleepers from sinking too deep into their beds. The Helix Dynamic Foam layer gives cushioning and bounce, and since the Plus is designed for bigger persons, the foam comfort layers provide the necessary cradling that relieves pressure on the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

The same goes for back sleepers. However, they need more support and contouring than side sleepers.

Back sleeping typically requires a bit extra support and hardness, especially in the lumbar region to prevent sinking too deeply and causing spinal misalignment. Your spine should be balanced by the position of your back on a bed.

This is why back sleepers choose mattresses that have a firmer feel than side sleepers and not as stiff as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight might be the best option for back-sleepers under 130 pounds depending on their needs. It provides the ideal amount of cushioning and support for this sleeping posture.

There are many options for those who weigh between 130-230 pounds and between 130-230 pounds. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Both Dawn and Dusk are excellent due to their solid support and moderate firmness.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

As the main weight bearing part of a person’s body, torsos are usually heavier. Stomach-sleepers are more likely than other sleepers to place greater strain on their mattresses. They also tend to sink deeper than those in other positions. If they sink too far, they run the risk of pushing their spines out their normal alignment. Later aches and pains may result from this. The bottom line is that stomach sleepers need a mattress which is firmer, more supportive and offers enough support to align their backs.

The firmer Helix versions will be most comfortable for stomach sleepers, who require a level surface to preserve proper spinal alignment and alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. Because of their support and hardness, the central region of the mattress can reduce the risk of weight loss. So a cushion that’s comfortable will give stomach sleepers in this range the support they need.

Because it is medium-firm, the Midnight is suitable for stomach sleepers less than 130 pounds. But, people who are heavier will not sink as deep. For stomach sleepers who are lighter in weight, especially those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, the Twilight may also be appropriate.
