Helix Mattress Yelp

Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight are the softest versions available from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight or Helix Dusk would be two examples of the medium models. Helix Sunset The most often used models are Helix Twilight, Helix Dawn, and Helix Plus. Helix Plus are the strongest models in this line.

Helix makes the Sunset. Helix has side sleepers in mind while designing the Sunset, the Midnight, and the Twilight. Lunar Light The Midnight, Dusk, and Dawn have been designed with stomach and back sleepers in mind. The Plus was designed specifically for those with larger bodies. Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

All models, except for the Plus edition, come in both the Luxe as well as the normal editions. This update is optional and extends coil support to provide zonal back support, which aids in better spinal alignment. The shoulders can drop further while the hips are supported. The Luxe edition of the quilt is used on the top to give the cushion a plush feel. Tencel covers allow for ventilation to the mattress and help remove moisture. Along with the 10-year guarantee, the upgrade also includes a 15-year warranty.

The Dawn, Dusk Midnight, Midnight Moonlight, Sunset and Twilight standard versions are 12 inches thick. While the luxurious versions measure 14 inches. The Plus is 13 inches thick in addition. The Helix mattress may need large pockets as any of these heights could be regarded high-profile.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses perform well at preventing movement. A lot of movement is often absorbed by foam layers. However, comfort layers’ latex-like memory foam is much springier than regular memory foam. Due to the springiness emanating form the coil’s core, it is possible to sense your partner moving throughout the night.

The memory foam layers and soft feel of the Helix models make the Dusk and Sunset absorb the most motion than any other models.

The Plus has two comfort layers as well, which prevent the majority of coil motions from reaching the springy coil core of the mattress.

The mattress may feel less vibratory because of this.

This reduces the amount of noise that is transmitted across the mattress. It is possible to rest better if you sleep at night, in the morning, or at night.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses are known for their ability to reduce pressure. This is due in part to the pockets of coils and memory foam. The foam is able to induce deep relaxation and self cradling, which can reduce pressure points like the hips. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. are better met by the softer mattresses. Firmer mattresses are recommended for those who prefer to sleep on their stomachs or backs or for those who weigh over 230 pounds.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus is made especially for those who weigh more, and it may effectively alleviate pressure spots for people who sleep in this category. Dawn and Twilight’s harder sensation will result in higher resistance to pressure points on sleepers, which lessens the efficacy of these products in this region.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform about average in hybrids for cooling down when it comes sleeping.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. To counter heat loss, the coils of these mattresses allow air to flow through to aid in cooling.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. To further assist heat dissipation the Plus also includes two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Every Helix model is equipped with an encasement, which is strengthened within its core. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. Every model has a different level support due to its structure and stiffness.

For instance, due to their sturdy design, the Dawn and Twilight provide the best edge support. They provide excellent edge support due to their strong build. Dusk, Midnight, or Plus are sufficient to support the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight or Sunset are the most expensive models. This means that you will sink less when you sleep, and you can sit closer to the edge. They have the lowest edge support of all Helix mattress models.

Ease of Movement

The model’s ability to move is the main distinguishing feature. It is difficult to walk on the surface because to the deep cradling and sink provided by the softer Moonlight and the setting sun.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. The powerful pushback against the body of Dawn and Twilight models makes it easier to move around and get out from bed.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses can provide spring and bounce due to their coil cores. This is something many couples love when having sex. The amount of conforming or sinking that the foam layers provide can influence the sexual experience depending on how it is made.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. Additionally, dusk, midnight, and plus are ideal times for sex, but moonlight and sunset will probably make things more difficult. These models may be restricted by their soft, plush surfaces.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix has many mattress options.

Helix hybrid mattresses have coil cores that allow for more air to flow across the entire bed. Because Helix mattresses are hybrids, odors will disappear faster than they would with an allfoam mattress.

If the scent bothers you, you could choose to leave the mattress exposed in a well-ventilated space for a few hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideFinding a mattress with the ideal ratio of support to cushioning is the key to sleeping well on your side. To align the spine and alleviate strain, the hips should not be pressed against the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side bed sleepers less than 130lbs will enjoy the plush padding on the Moonlight and Dusk models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

Side sleepers between 130 to 230 pounds are best suited for the Midnight and Dusk’s firmness. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

If you are a side-sleeper who is more than 230 lbs, the Plus and, to some extent, the Twilight will be your best choices. These models’ firmer feel will keep folks who fall into this type of side sleepers from sinking too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic Faam layers give cushioning and bounce. Plus models are designed for larger people. Foam comfort layers provide the necessary support to alleviate pressure on the shoulders.

Back Sleepers

Side sleepers need less cushioning but still require support.

To prevent spinal misalignment, back sleeping usually requires a little more support and hardness, particularly in the lumbar area. The posture of your back on the bed ensures that your spine is reasonably even.

Back sleepers tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than side sleepers, but not as stiff or flexible as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the right choice for backs that weigh less than 130lbs. It depends on your needs. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Dusk and Dawn are equally excellent for their support and firmness.

The Plus, Twilight and Dawn are great choices for those who sleep on their backs and weigh more than 230 pounds. They provide excellent support to the weight range and prevent your hips from sinking in the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

The majority of someone’s weight is carried by their torsos. Stomach sleepers put greater strain on their mattresses and have a propensity to sink deeper than other positions. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. Later aches and pains may result from this. The bottom line is that stomach sleepers need a mattress which is firmer, more supportive and offers enough support to align their backs.

Helix models with a firmer surface will be the most comfortable for stomach sleepers. This is because they require a level surface for proper spinal alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. Because they are strong and supportive, the central portion of the mattress will reduce the chance of you losing weight. To provide stomach sleepers with this weight, a cushion which is comfortable will be sufficient.

Because it is medium-firm, the Midnight is suitable for stomach sleepers less than 130 pounds. Heavy people may sink too much. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
