Overview Helix Nightfall Mattress Review

A direct-to-consumer mattress manufacturer called Helix is renowned for its sleep study. This quiz will help you choose the right mattress based upon your body weight, preferred position and sleeping style. There are seven main variants in the Helix series to suit different sleeping styles. Helix Nightfall Mattress Review

Helix Moonlight and the Sunset The softest versions from the manufacturer are Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight. Helix Midnight, Helix Dusk and Helix Twilight are two examples for medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn, Helix Plus, and Helix Plus are three of the most commonly used models. Helix Plus and Helix Twilight are the best-selling models in the Helix line.

The Sunset is produced by Helix. Helix kept side sleepers in mind when creating the Sunset, Midnight and Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk, Dawn and Dawn were created with stomach and back sleepers as consideration. The Plus was designed specifically for those with larger bodies. Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

Except for the Plus, all models are available in the normal and luxe editions. This update is optional and extends coil support to provide zonal back support, which aids in better spinal alignment. This works by supporting the hips and allowing the shoulders to drop further. The Luxe edition of the quilt is used on the top to give the cushion a plush feel. Tencel covers promote ventilation and moisture removal. Upgrades come with an additional 15-year warranty in addition the usual 10-year guarantee.

The Dawn, Dusk and Midnight versions, Sunset, Moonlight, Sunset, Twilight, and Midnight versions are each 12 inches thick. The luxury versions are 14 inch thick. Plus is also 13 inches thick. Helix mattresses might require large pockets, as they could be viewed as high-profile.

We will review the specifications, construction, and customer reviews for each Helix mattress. We’ll also be listing some of the potential benefits to help determine which model might work best for your needs.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. The comfort layers’ latex like polyfoam are springier that ordinary memory foam. Due to the coil’s springiness, you might be able to see your partner’s movements throughout their night.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

The Plus has two comfort layers as well, which prevent the majority of coil motions from reaching the springy coil core of the mattress.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

As a result, the noise transmitted over the mattress is less. Your ability to Sleep is likely to be less affected by your partner’s movements during nighttime, dawn, and after midnight.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. Side sleepers (or anyone below 130 lbs) have specific needs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. For those who like to sleep on their stomach or back or who weigh more than 230 pounds, however, firmer mattresses are recommended.

Because of their plusher surfaces, the moonlight, dusk-sunset, sunset and midnight provide the most effective pressure relief. The Plus is specifically designed for those who are heavier and can help alleviate pressure points. Twilight’s stronger sensation will cause sleepers to be more resistant to pressure points, which can decrease the efficacy and effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

When it comes to sleeping cool, Helix mattresses perform around average for hybrids.

Because memory foam mattresses often retain heat, they can make you feel warm while you sleep. These mattresses have coils that allow air to circulate through them to counter heat loss.

The Dawn is more comfortable because of its firmness and lack sinkage. To further assist heat dissipation the Plus also includes two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Each Helix model includes an encasement made from the coil’s inner core. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. Every model has a different level support due to its structure and stiffness.

Twilight and Dawn offer the best edge support, thanks to their solid design. Their sturdy construction provides excellent edge support. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight or Sunset are the most expensive models. This means that you will sink less when you sleep, and you can sit closer to the edge. They have the lowest edge support of all Helix mattress models.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models, on the other hand, have a firmer, more pleasant sensation. The powerful pushback against the body of Dawn and Twilight models makes it easier to move around and get out from bed.

The two-layer comfort system of the Line with the Plus may make the bed a little harder to move about on than other hybrids, but the firmness still allows for a sufficient amount of movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The level of conforming or sinking of the foam layers can affect how sexual experiences are enhanced or diminished depending on the mattress design.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. Additionally, dusk and midnight are ideal times for sex. However, moonlight, sunset and sunrise will likely make things more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces which may limit motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

This smell is often considered to be normal and goes away within a few hours. Helix offers a number of various mattress options.

Helix mattresses can be described as hybrids because their coil cores make it easier for air to move around the entire bed. This means that the odors from Helix mattresses will dissipate faster than they would from an all-foam one.

If the scent bothers you, you could choose to leave the mattress exposed in a well-ventilated space for a few hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideThe key to a good night’s sleep is finding the right mattress that provides the perfect balance of support and cushioning. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. The Moonlight is a good option for people who like a cozier atmosphere.

The fairly firm Midnight and Dusk are best suited for side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. This weight range is the majority of those who will benefit from the models’ powerful contouring and support.

If you are a side sleeping person who weighs more than 230lbs, the Plus, and to a lesser extent the Twilight, are your best options. The firmer feel of these models will prevent side sleepers who are heavier than 230 pounds from sinking too deeply into their beds. The Helix Dynamic Foam layer gives cushioning and bounce, and since the Plus is designed for bigger persons, the foam comfort layers provide the necessary cradling that relieves pressure on the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

Back sleeping typically requires a bit extra support and hardness, especially in the lumbar region to prevent sinking too deeply and causing spinal misalignment. You can ensure that your spine is fairly straight by placing your back on the mattress.

Back sleepers tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than side sleepers, but not as stiff or flexible as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight could be the best choice for back sleepers less than 130 lbs, depending on their requirements. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

People who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds have many options. Back sleepers that fall into this weight range might do well in the Twilight or the Plus. They both provide sufficient plushness to support the spine and the lower back. They are both Dusk as well as Dawn excellent because of their firmness and reliability.

The Plus and Twilight mattresses are excellent options for those who weigh over 230lbs who sleep on the back. They offer great support for weight ranges to prevent hips and backs from sinking under the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach sleepers tend to be more prone to sinking than other positions, putting greater pressure on their mattresses. If they fall too far, they can push their spines out from their normal alignment. This could lead to aches and pains later. Stomach sleepers require a mattress that is firmer and more supportive. It should also have enough push-back to support their backs.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. For those over 130lbs who wish to get a good night’s sleep, the Plus and Dawn may be a better choice. Thanks to their support and hardiness, the central part of the mattress is strong enough not to cause excessive weight loss. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

Because it feels medium firm, the Midnight is best for stomach sleepers weighing less than 130lbs. But, people who are heavier will not sink as deep. The Twilight may be suitable for stomach-sleepers who are lighter than 130 to 230 lbs, especially if they weigh between 130 and 220 lb.
