Helix produced the Sunset. Helix considered side sleepers when designing the Sunset and Midnight, as well as the Twilight. Lunar Light, Dusk and Dawn were designed with stomach- and back sleepers at heart. The Plus is specially designed for people who are larger. Helix has designed each mattress with specific weights in mind. Some people might also enjoy the way it feels.

With the exception of Plus, every model is available in both the Luxe and normal editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This is accomplished by supporting the hips while allowing the shoulders to descend farther. To give it a luxurious feel, the cushion’s top is quilted with Luxe Edition. Tencel covers encourage ventilation and aid in moisture removal. Upgrades come with an additional 15-year warranty in addition the usual 10-year guarantee.

Standard versions of the Dawn and Dusk, Midnight, Moonlight and Sunset are 12 inches thick. The luxurious versions are 14 inches. Plus is also 13 in thick. Since Helix mattresses may be high-profile, you might need to have large pockets.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses have a great track record of preventing movement. The foam layers absorb most movement. The comfort layers’ latex-like polyfoam, however, is springier than ordinary memory foam. The springiness emanating out of the coil’s center may allow you to detect your partner’s movements during the night.

The memory foam layers and soft feel of the Helix models make the Dusk and Sunset absorb the most motion than any other models.

Two comfort layers make up the Plus. They prevent most coil motions reaching the core of the springy coils.

This may result in less vibration traveling over the mattress’ surface.

This reduces the amount of noise that is transmitted across the mattress. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses have a number of benefits, including pressure reduction. This can partly be attributed to the layers memory foam, polyfoam and pocketed coils. The foam can be used to relax deeply and allow for self-cradling. This may help reduce pressure points such pressure points as the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers and those under 130 lbs. are more demanding. Softer mattresses can better meet their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for those who prefer to sleep on their stomachs or backs or for those who weigh over 230 pounds.

The moonlight, sunset, sunrise, and night are the best times to relieve pressure. This is partly due to the plusher surfaces. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Due to Twilight and Dawn’s more intense sensations, sleepers will be less likely to experience pressure points. This can reduce the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses have a reputation for making you feel hot while you sleep. It often holds on to heat all night. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness and lack of sinkage help it sleep cooler than the other types. To aid heat dissipation, two cooling covers are included in the Plus.

Edge Support

Every Helix model comes with an encasement which is reinforced within the core of the coil. It reduces sinkage when people sit or lay on the edges of their beds. However, owing in large part to the quality of the construction and stiffness, each model has a varying level of edge support.

Twilight and Dawn provide the best edge support because of their sturdy design. Their sturdy construction provides excellent edge support. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. They have the lowest edge support of all Helix mattress models.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. It’s much easier to get up and move about with the Dawn/Twilight models’ strong pushback against your body.

The two-layer comfort system of the Line with the Plus may make the bed a little harder to move about on than other hybrids, but the firmness still allows for a sufficient amount of movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses have coil cores that provide spring and bounce, which couples often enjoy when having sex. The level of conforming or sinking of the foam layers can affect how sexual experiences are enhanced or diminished depending on the mattress design.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight’s smooth surfaces make moving about simpler, making them the best options for couples. In terms of sex, the ideal times are dusk to midnight and plus. However, moonlight or sunsets will be more difficult. These models have plush, soft surface that could restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models come with the standard amount “new mattress scent” that is found in all foam mattresses.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix offers several mattress options.

Helix hybrid mattresses have coil cores that allow for more air to flow across the entire bed. Therefore, the odors of Helix mattresses will dissipate more quickly than with all-foam mattresses.

You could leave the mattress unventilated for a couple of hours if you find the scent to be bothersome.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers will prefer mattresses with a more “medium” feel. They are closer to softening the range.

Side sleepers under 130 pounds will love the plush padding of the Moonlight and Dusk models. For those who want a cozier environment, the Moonlight is an excellent choice.

Side sleepers between 130 and 220 pounds can use the Midnight or Dusk, which are firm and comfortable. These sleepers will appreciate the models’ combination of strong contouring and support.

If you are a side-sleeper who is more than 230 lbs, the Plus and, to some extent, the Twilight will be your best choices. These models’ firmer feel will keep folks who fall into this type of side sleepers from sinking too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic Faam layers give cushioning and bounce. Plus models are designed for larger people. Foam comfort layers provide the necessary support to alleviate pressure on the shoulders.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

Back sleeping is more difficult than usual. You need extra support in the lumbar and back regions to prevent your spine from sinking. Your spine will remain fairly level by how your back is placed on the bed.

This is why back sleepers often choose mattresses that are firmer than those preferred by side sleepers but not as stiff as those preferred by stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the right choice for backs that weigh less than 130lbs. It depends on your needs. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

A wide variety of options are available for those who weigh between 130 – 230 lbs. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. Both offer sufficient cushioning for the spine and excellent support for the lower part of the back. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

The Plus, Twilight and Dawn are great choices for those who sleep on their backs and weigh more than 230 pounds. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

As the main weight bearing part of a person’s body, torsos are usually heavier. Stomach sleepers place greater stress on their mattresses and are more likely to sink further than in other positions. If they are too far down, their spines could become twisted and form a U-shaped shape. It can cause later aches and discomforts. These stomach sleepers should have a mattress that’s firmer, supportive, and provides enough support to maintain their spine alignment.

The firmer Helix versions will be most comfortable for stomach sleepers, who require a level surface to preserve proper spinal alignment and alignment. For those over 130lbs who wish to get a good night’s sleep, the Plus and Dawn may be a better choice. The central region of the mattress is sturdy enough to reduce the possibility of excessive weight loss thanks to their hardness and support. To provide stomach sleepers with this weight, a cushion which is comfortable will be sufficient.

The Midnight is appropriate for stomach sleepers under 130 pounds since it feels medium-firm. But, people who are heavier will not sink as deep. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
