Overview Helix Quiz Mattress

Helix, a direct to consumer mattress manufacturer, is known for its sleep research. This quiz helps you determine the ideal mattress by analyzing your body, weight, sleeping style, and preferred sleeping position. To accommodate different sleeping preferences, the Helix series offers seven variants. Helix Quiz Mattress

Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight are the softest versions available from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight and Helix Dusk are two examples of medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn and Helix Plus are the most used models. Helix Plus is the most reliable model in the line.

Helix is responsible for the Sunset. Helix considered side sleepers when designing the Sunset and Midnight, as well as the Twilight. Lunar Light The Midnight, Dusk, and Dawn have been designed with stomach and back sleepers in mind. The Plus is especially made for those who are bigger. While Helix designs each mattress with certain weight categories and sleep positions in mind, some people may also like the way it feels.

All models, except for the Plus edition, come in both the Luxe as well as the normal editions. The optional update increases the coil system to provide zonallumbar support. This will help in better spinal alignment. This allows the hips to be supported and the shoulders to sink further. To give it a luxurious feel, the cushion’s top is quilted with Luxe Edition. Tencel covers promote ventilation and moisture removal. Upgrades come with an additional 15-year warranty in addition the usual 10-year guarantee.

The standard versions of the Dawn, Dusk, Midnight, Moonlight, Sunset, and Twilight are 12 inches thick, while the luxurious versions are 14 inches thick. Additionally, the Plus measures 13 inches in thickness. Helix mattresses might require large pockets, as they could be viewed as high-profile.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. The latex-like polyfoam of comfort layers is, however, springier than ordinary memory. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

Due to the memory foam layers and softer feel compared to the other Helix models, the Dusk and Sunset both absorb the most motion of all the Helix models.

Two comfort layers are included in the Plus, which keep most coil motions from reaching its springy coil core.

This may result in less vibration traveling over the mattress’ surface.

As a result, the noise transmitted over the mattress is less. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

One of the benefits of Helix mattresses is pressure reduction, which is partly attributable to the layers of memory foam, polyfoam, and pocketed coils. The foam enables deep relaxation and self-cradling, which may help take some of the pressure off of pressure points like the hips and shoulders. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. Firmer mattresses would be a better choice for those who sleep on the stomach or back, or who are more than 230lbs.

The finest pressure relief is provided by the moonlight, dusk, sunset, and midnight, in part because of the plusher surfaces. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Twilight’s stronger sensation will cause sleepers to be more resistant to pressure points, which can decrease the efficacy and effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix hybrid mattresses are around average when it comes to cooling down.

Memory foam mattresses are known for heating you while you sleep. This is because it holds heat throughout the night. However, these mattresses’ coils allow for air flow to help counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness, and lack of sinkage, makes it more comfortable than other types. The Plus includes two cooling covers to help with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model has an encasement that is strengthened within the coil’s core. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. Each model is different in terms of how supportive it provides edge support. This is due to the quality of its construction and stiffness.

For instance, due to their sturdy design, the Dawn and Twilight provide the best edge support. Due to their solid construction, they provide outstanding edge support. Dusk, Midnight and Plus also provide enough support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight or Sunset are the most expensive models. This means that you will sink less when you sleep, and you can sit closer to the edge. They provide the smallest amount of edge support than all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s quality primarily sets the ease of movement apart as a separate class. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. It is considerably simpler to shift about and get out of bed with the Dawn and Twilight models’ powerful pushback against the body.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses provide some spring and bounce thanks to their coil cores. Many couples find this a great option for sex. The amount of conforming or sinking that the foam layers provide can influence the sexual experience depending on how it is made.

Because of their smooth surfaces, the Helix Dawn’s and Twilight’s make it easy to move about. This makes them great for couples. Additionally, dusk and midnight are ideal times for sex. However, moonlight, sunset and sunrise will likely make things more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces which may limit motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

This smell is often thought to be safe and goes away after a few days. Helix offers a variety of mattress options.

Helix mattresses can be described as hybrids because their coil cores make it easier for air to move around the entire bed. Because Helix mattresses are hybrids, odors will disappear faster than they would with an allfoam mattress.

If you are bothered by the smell, you can choose to expose the mattress in a well-ventilated area for a few more hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideTo sleep well on your side, you need a mattress that offers the right balance of support and cushioning. For proper alignment and relief of strain, the hips and shoulders should be free to sink into a mattress. Side sleepers are more comfortable with mattresses that feel “medium”, closer to the soft range.

Side sleepers under 130 pounds will love the plush padding of the Moonlight and Dusk models. For those who want a cozier environment, the Moonlight is an excellent choice.

The Midnight and Dusk models are best for side sleepers weighing between 130-230 pounds. The majority of sleepers in this weight range will enjoy the models’ blend of powerful contouring and support.

The Plus and, to a lesser extent, the Twilight, are the best options if you are a side sleeper who weighs more over 230 pounds. People who fall into this category of side sleepers will feel the models’ firmer feeling and not sink too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers also need a combination of support and contouring. But they require less cushioning than side-sleepers.

Back sleeping typically requires a bit extra support and hardness, especially in the lumbar region to prevent sinking too deeply and causing spinal misalignment. Your spine should be balanced by the position of your back on a bed.

This is why back sleepers may choose mattresses that feel firmer than the side sleepers’, but not as stiff and comfortable as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the best option for back sleepers under 130 pounds, depending on their needs. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

There are many options for those who weigh between 130-230 pounds and between 130-230 pounds. The Plus or Twilight might be a good choice for back sleepers who are in this weight range. Both offer enough support to the lower back and spine with sufficient plushness. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. They offer great support for weight ranges to prevent hips and backs from sinking under the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach-sleepers are more likely than other sleepers to place greater strain on their mattresses. They also tend to sink deeper than those in other positions. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. It can cause later aches and discomforts. Stomach sleepers will need a mattress with more support, firmness, and enough push-back so that their backs align.

For stomach sleepers who need a flat surface to maintain proper spine alignment, the firmer Helix models will be more comfortable. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. Thanks to their support and hardiness, the central part of the mattress is strong enough not to cause excessive weight loss. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight might be suitable for stomach sleepers with lighter weights, particularly those who weigh between 130-230 pounds.
