Overview Helix Return Mattress

Helix, a direct-to-consumer mattress company, is well-known for its sleep studies. The quiz determines the best mattress for you based on your weight, preferred sleeping position, as well as your sleeping style. To accommodate different sleeping preferences, the Helix series offers seven variants. Helix Return Mattress

Helix Sunset and Helix Moonlight are the softest versions available from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight or Helix Dusk would be two examples of the medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn and Helix Plus are the most used models. The line’s firmest models are Helix Plus.

Helix produced the Sunset. Helix was conscious of side sleepers while creating the Sunset (the Midnight) and the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk and Dawn are designed with stomach sleepers and backs in mind. The Plus is especially made for those who are bigger. Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

Each model, with the exception of the Plus, comes in both the normal and Luxe editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This allows the hips to be supported and the shoulders to sink further. To give the cushion a more luxurious feel, the Luxe edition quilts the top. Tencel covers promote ventilation and moisture removal. Upgrades come with an additional 15-year warranty in addition the usual 10-year guarantee.

Standard versions of the Dawn and Dusk, Midnight, Moonlight and Sunset are 12 inches thick. The luxurious versions are 14 inches. Additionally, the Plus measures 13 inches in thickness. Helix mattresses could need substantial pockets since any of these heights might be regarded as high-profile.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses have a great track record of preventing movement. Foam layers absorb a lot of movement. The comfort layers’ latex like polyfoam are springier that ordinary memory foam. Due to the springiness emanating form the coil’s core, it is possible to sense your partner moving throughout the night.

Dusk & Sunset absorb the most movement of all Helix models due to their memory foam layers.

The Plus also has two comfort layers that prevent most coil movements from reaching the springy core of the mattress.

This may result in less vibration traveling over the mattress’ surface.

This reduces the amount of noise that is transmitted across the mattress. Motion transmission is modest during moonlight, dawn, and midnight, which might lessen the impact of your partner’s movements on your ability to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses offer pressure relief. This is partially due to the pocketsed coils, memory foam and polyfoam layers. Deep relaxation and self-cradling are possible with the foam, which can help relieve pressure on pressure points such as the hips or shoulders. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. are better met by the softer mattresses. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus is specifically designed for those who are heavier and can help alleviate pressure points. Twilight and Dawn have a harder sensation, which will increase resistance to pressure points. This reduces the efficacy these products in this area.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses have a reputation for making you feel hot while you sleep. It often holds on to heat all night. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness, and lack of sinkage, makes it more comfortable than other types. The Plus includes two cooling covers to help with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Every Helix model comes with an encasement which is reinforced within the core of the coil. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. Each model offers a different level of edge support, due to its quality and stiffness.

For instance, due to their sturdy design, the Dawn and Twilight provide the best edge support. Their sturdy construction provides excellent edge support. Dusk, Midnight and Plus also provide enough support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight, Sunset and Sunset are the most luxurious models. You’ll feel less sinking while you sleep or be close to the edge. They provide the smallest amount of edge support than all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The ease of movement is primarily determined by the model’s quality. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models, on the other hand, have a firmer, more pleasant sensation. It’s much easier to get up and move about with the Dawn/Twilight models’ strong pushback against your body.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses are known for their coil cores which provide some spring and bounce. Many couples enjoy Helix mattress sex. The degree of conforming and sinking offered by the foam layers will vary depending on how they are designed. This can either enhance or diminish the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces and Twilight make it easier to move around, making them ideal for couples. Dusk, midnight, plus, and plus are the best times for sex. Moonlight and sunset, however, will make it more challenging. These models may be restricted by their soft, plush surfaces.

Off-Gassing

All Helix models initially have the standard amount of “new mattress scent,” which is present with all foam mattresses.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix offers several mattress options.

Helix hybrid mattresses have coil cores that allow for more air to flow across the entire bed. Because Helix mattresses are hybrids, odors will disappear faster than they would with an allfoam mattress.

If you are bothered by the smell, you can choose to expose the mattress in a well-ventilated area for a few more hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideThe key to a good night’s sleep is finding the right mattress that provides the perfect balance of support and cushioning. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers often prefer mattresses that have a “medium” feel. This is closer to the soft side of the range.

Side bed sleepers weighing less than 130 lbs will appreciate the soft padding in the Moonlight or Dusk models. The Moonlight is for those who enjoy a more comfortable environment.

Side sleepers between 130 to 230 pounds are best suited for the Midnight and Dusk’s firmness. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

If you are a side sleeping person who weighs more than 230lbs, the Plus, and to a lesser extent the Twilight, are your best options. The firmer feel of these models will prevent side sleepers who are heavier than 230 pounds from sinking too deeply into their beds. Helix Dynamic Foam provides cushioning and bounce. The Plus is made for larger people. The foam comfort layers provide the needed cradling to relieve pressure on the hips and shoulders.

Back Sleepers

The same goes for back sleepers. However, they need more support and contouring than side sleepers.

For back sleep to be comfortable, you will need to provide support and firmness in the lumbar region. This is important to avoid sinking too deep and creating spinal misalignment. Your spine should be balanced by the position of your back on a bed.

This is why side sleepers prefer mattresses that are firmer, but not as rigid as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight may be the right choice for backs that weigh less than 130lbs. It depends on your needs. It provides the ideal amount of cushioning and support for this sleeping posture.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. Back sleepers who fall within this weight range may be able to use the Plus or Twilight. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. They are both Dusk as well as Dawn excellent because of their firmness and reliability.

The Plus, Twilight and Dawn are great choices for those who sleep on their backs and weigh more than 230 pounds. They offer great support for weight ranges to prevent hips and backs from sinking under the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach sleepers place greater stress on their mattresses and are more likely to sink further than in other positions. If they fall too far, it can cause their spines to shift out of alignment. It can cause later aches and discomforts. The bottom line is that stomach sleepers need a mattress which is firmer, more supportive and offers enough support to align their backs.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. Because of their support and hardness, the central region of the mattress can reduce the risk of weight loss. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

Because it feels medium firm, the Midnight is best for stomach sleepers weighing less than 130lbs. But, people who are heavier will not sink as deep. For stomach sleepers who are lighter in weight, especially those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, the Twilight may also be appropriate.
