Helix has designed each mattress with specific weights in mind. Some people might also enjoy the way it feels.

Each model, with the exception of the Plus, comes in both the normal and Luxe editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This allows the hips to be supported and the shoulders to sink further. The Luxe edition of the quilt is used on the top to give the cushion a plush feel. Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. A lot of movement is often absorbed by foam layers. The comfort layers’ latex-like polyfoam, however, is springier than ordinary memory foam. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

The memory foam layers and soft feel of the Helix models make the Dusk and Sunset absorb the most motion than any other models.

Two comfort layers are included in the Plus, which keep most coil motions from reaching its springy coil core.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

The quantity of noise that is transferred over the mattress is reduced as a result. Motion transmission is modest during moonlight, dawn, and midnight, which might lessen the impact of your partner’s movements on your ability to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. The foam enables deep relaxation and self-cradling, which may help take some of the pressure off of pressure points like the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers (or anyone below 130 lbs) have specific needs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus is specifically designed for those who are heavier and can help alleviate pressure points. Twilight and Dawn will have a stronger sensation which will make it more difficult for sleepers to feel pressure points. This decreases the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform about average in hybrids for cooling down when it comes sleeping.

Memory foam mattresses have a reputation for making you feel hot while you sleep. It often holds on to heat all night. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn is more comfortable because of its firmness and lack sinkage. The Plus includes two cooling covers to help with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model features an encasement that’s strengthened in the coil’s core. As a result, less sinkage occurs when a person sits or lays on the edge of their bed. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. They provide excellent edge support due to their strong build. Dusk and Midnight are also available. Plus provides sufficient support for edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight or Sunset are the most expensive models. This means that you will sink less when you sleep, and you can sit closer to the edge. They offer the most edge support among all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. The surface is slippery due to the sinking Moonlight as well as the soft Moonlight.

Twilight and Dawn models on the other side have a firmer, pleasanter sensation. It’s much easier to get up and move about with the Dawn/Twilight models’ strong pushback against your body.

The Line with a Plus bed has two layers of comfort. However, it’s a little more difficult to move than other hybrids.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The amount of conforming or sinking that the foam layers provide can influence the sexual experience depending on how it is made.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. Additionally, dusk and midnight are ideal times for sex. However, moonlight, sunset and sunrise will likely make things more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces which may limit motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models are initially equipped with the standard “new mattress fragrance” which is common for all foam mattresses.

This smell is generally considered to be harmless and will disappear after a few weeks. Helix has many mattress options.

Helix mattresses are hybrids. Their coil cores allow more air to circulate across the bed because they have multiple coils. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

You could leave the mattress unventilated for a couple of hours if you find the scent to be bothersome.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideFinding a mattress with the ideal ratio of support to cushioning is the key to sleeping well on your side. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side bed sleepers less than 130lbs will enjoy the plush padding on the Moonlight and Dusk models. For those who want a cozier environment, the Moonlight is an excellent choice.

The Midnight and Dusk models are best for side sleepers weighing between 130-230 pounds. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

The Plus and, in a lesser amount, the Twilight are the best options for side sleepers who weigh more than 220 pounds. People who are side sleepers will not sink too deeply into these models due to their firmer feel. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers require a mixture of support, contouring, and cushioning. Side sleepers prefer less cushioning.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. Your spine will remain fairly level by how your back is placed on the bed.

This is why back sleepers choose mattresses that have a firmer feel than side sleepers and not as stiff as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight could be the best choice for back sleepers less than 130 lbs, depending on their requirements. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

A wide variety of options are available for those who weigh between 130 – 230 lbs. Back sleepers that fall into this weight range might do well in the Twilight or the Plus. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Dusk and Dawn are equally excellent for their support and firmness.

The Plus, Twilight and Dawn are great choices for those who sleep on their backs and weigh more than 230 pounds. These pillows provide excellent support and help to keep hips from sinking into your mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because the majority of an individual’s weight is in their torsos, Stomach sleepers are more likely to put stress on their mattresses, and sink deeper than others. If they sink too far, they run the risk of pushing their spines out their normal alignment. It could cause aches or pains in the future. These stomach sleepers should have a mattress that’s firmer, supportive, and provides enough support to maintain their spine alignment.

Helix models with a firmer surface will be the most comfortable for stomach sleepers. This is because they require a level surface for proper spinal alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. Because they are strong and supportive, the central portion of the mattress will reduce the chance of you losing weight. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

Because it feels medium-firm, The Midnight is ideal for stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 lbs. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
