Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk, Dawn and Dawn were created with stomach and back sleepers as consideration. The Plus is designed especially for larger individuals. Helix has designed each mattress with specific weights in mind. Some people might also enjoy the way it feels.

Except for the Plus, all models are available in the normal and luxe editions. This optional update extends the coil system to provide zonal support for spinal alignment. This allows the hips to be supported and the shoulders to sink further. To give the cushion a plush feeling, the Luxe version of the top quilt is applied to it. Tencel covers allow for ventilation to the mattress and help remove moisture. A 15-year warranty is included with the upgrade in addition to the normal 10-year guarantee.

The Dawn, Dusk Midnight and Sunset versions are 12 inches thick. Twilight’s luxurious version is 14 inches. Plus is also 13 inches thick. The Helix mattress may need large pockets as any of these heights could be regarded high-profile.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses perform well at preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. The comfort layers’ latex-like polyfoam, however, is springier than ordinary memory foam. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

Dusk, Sunset have the highest motion absorption of any Helix model due to their memory foam layers.

Two comfort layers make up the Plus. They prevent most coil motions reaching the core of the springy coils.

The mattress may feel less vibratory because of this.

The quantity of noise that is transferred over the mattress is reduced as a result. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. The foam can be used to relax deeply and allow for self-cradling. This may help reduce pressure points such pressure points as the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers, or those who weigh less than 130 lbs., have different needs. are better met by the softer mattresses. Firmer mattresses would be a better choice for those who sleep on the stomach or back, or who are more than 230lbs.

Because of their plusher surfaces, the moonlight, dusk-sunset, sunset and midnight provide the most effective pressure relief. The Plus is specifically designed for those who are heavier and can help alleviate pressure points. Twilight and Dawn have a harder sensation, which will increase resistance to pressure points. This reduces the efficacy these products in this area.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Because memory foam mattresses often retain heat, they can make you feel warm while you sleep. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. Two cooling covers are included with the Plus to further aid with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Each Helix model includes an encasement made from the coil’s inner core. The coil’s core is strengthened, so there is less sinkage when the person sits or lies on the edge of their bed. Each model is different in terms of how supportive it provides edge support. This is due to the quality of its construction and stiffness.

For instance, due to their sturdy design, the Dawn and Twilight provide the best edge support. Due to their solid construction, they provide outstanding edge support. Dusk, Midnight and Plus also provide enough support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset are the most luxurious models. They offer more support for your spine, while also allowing you to sleep closer to the edge. They provide the least amount of edge support of all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s overall quality is what separates the ease of movement from any other class. Because of the sinking Moonlight and setting sun, it is very difficult to walk on the surface.

Twilight and Dawn models have a more comfortable, firmer sensation. With the powerful pushback of the body, Dawn and Twilight models make it much easier to get out of bed.

The Line with Plus’s plush comfort system with two layers may make it more difficult to move, but the firmness of the mattress still allows for enough movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn’s smooth surfaces make it easy for couples to move around. Dusk, midnight, plus, and plus are the best times for sex. Moonlight and sunset, however, will make it more challenging. These models have soft, plush surfaces that can restrict movement.

Off-Gassing

Helix models start with the same standard amount of “new-mattress scent” that all foam mattresses have.

The smell is usually considered safe and disappears after a few days. Helix offers a number of various mattress options.

Helix mattresses are hybrids. Their coil cores allow more air to circulate across the bed because they have multiple coils. This means that the odors from Helix mattresses will dissipate faster than they would from an all-foam one.

If you are bothered by the smell, you can choose to expose the mattress in a well-ventilated area for a few more hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideA mattress that has the right amount of support and cushions is key to good sleep. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers are more comfortable with mattresses that feel “medium”, closer to the soft range.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. The Moonlight is for those who enjoy a more comfortable environment.

The fairly firm Midnight and Dusk are best suited for side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. Most people in this weight range will love the models’ combination for powerful contouring as well as support.

If you are a side-sleeper who is more than 230 lbs, the Plus and, to some extent, the Twilight will be your best choices. This model’s firmer feel will help side sleepers not sink too deeply into their bed. Helix Dynamic Foam gives the Plus cushioning and bounce. And, because the Plus is built for larger individuals, the foam comfort layers provide the required cradling that relieves pressure from the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

The same goes for back sleepers. However, they need more support and contouring than side sleepers.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. Your spine will remain fairly level by how your back is placed on the bed.

This is why back sleepers may choose mattresses that feel firmer than the side sleepers’, but not as stiff and comfortable as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight could be the best choice for back sleepers less than 130 lbs, depending on their requirements. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds have a wide range of options. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. They both provide sufficient plushness to support the spine and the lower back. Dusk and Dawn are equally excellent for their support and firmness.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. To prevent hips from sinking into the mattress, they provide great support for the weight range.

Stomach Sleepers

As the main weight bearing part of a person’s body, torsos are usually heavier. Stomach sleepers put greater strain on their mattresses and have a propensity to sink deeper than other positions. They run the danger of pushing their spines out of their normal alignment and forming a U shape if they drop too far. Later aches and pains may result from this. Stomach sleepers will need a mattress with more support, firmness, and enough push-back so that their backs align.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. People who are more than 130 lbs and who wish to sleep well may choose the Plus or Dawn. The central region of the mattress is sturdy enough to reduce the possibility of excessive weight loss thanks to their hardness and support. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

Because the Midnight feels medium-firm it’s suitable for stomach sleepers below 130 pounds. The Midnight is not suitable for heavier people. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
