Helix Sunset The most often used models are Helix Twilight, Helix Dawn, and Helix Plus. The line’s firmest models are Helix Plus.

Helix is responsible for the Sunset. Helix has side sleepers in mind while designing the Sunset, the Midnight, and the Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk and Dawn are designed with stomach sleepers and backs in mind. The Plus was designed specifically for those with larger bodies. Helix mattresses are designed with specific weight categories in mind. However, some people may like how it feels.

Each model, with the exception of the Plus, comes in both the normal and Luxe editions. Optional, the update expands the coil system in order to provide zonal Lumbar Support to improve spinal alignment. This allows the hips to be supported and the shoulders to sink further. To give it a luxurious feel, the cushion’s top is quilted with Luxe Edition. Tencel covers encourage ventilation and aid in moisture removal. Upgrades come with an additional 15-year warranty in addition the usual 10-year guarantee.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses have a great track record of preventing movement. Many movements are absorbed by the foam layers. However, comfort layers’ latex-like memory foam is much springier than regular memory foam. You may be able to sense your partner’s movements throughout the night because to the springiness that emanates from the coil’s center.

Due to the memory foam layers and softer feel compared to the other Helix models, the Dusk and Sunset both absorb the most motion of all the Helix models.

The Plus has two comfort layers as well, which prevent the majority of coil motions from reaching the springy coil core of the mattress.

This may result in less vibration traveling over the mattress’ surface.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. The foam can be used to relax deeply and allow for self-cradling. This may help reduce pressure points such pressure points as the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers, or those who weigh less than 130 lbs., have different needs. Softer mattresses are more suitable for side sleepers and those who weigh less than 130 lbs. Firmer mattresses may be recommended for those who want to lie on their stomachs or backs and who are heavier than 230 lbs.

The finest pressure relief is provided by the moonlight, dusk, sunset, and midnight, in part because of the plusher surfaces. The Plus is designed for heavier people and may help to alleviate pressure points. Twilight’s stronger sensation will cause sleepers to be more resistant to pressure points, which can decrease the efficacy and effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform above average for hybrids in terms of sleeping cool.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. These mattresses have coils that allow air to circulate through them to counter heat loss.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. To further assist heat dissipation the Plus also includes two cooling covers.

Edge Support

Every Helix model comes with an encasement which is reinforced within the core of the coil. This reduces sinkage when someone lies on their back or sits on their bed edge. Each model offers a different level of edge support, due to its quality and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. These strong, sturdy products also provide great edge support. Dusk, Midnight, or Plus are sufficient to support the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. These mattresses offer the most support at the edges than any other Helix mattress.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. The deep sinking Moonlight and setting sun make it difficult to walk on this surface.

Twilight and Dawn models on the other side have a firmer, pleasanter sensation. It is considerably simpler to shift about and get out of bed with the Dawn and Twilight models’ powerful pushback against the body.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

The Helix mattresses may provide some spring and bounce because of their coil cores, which many couples enjoy during sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. Additionally, dusk and midnight are ideal times for sex. However, moonlight, sunset and sunrise will likely make things more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces which may limit motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models start with the same standard amount of “new-mattress scent” that all foam mattresses have.

This smell is often considered to be normal and goes away within a few hours. Helix has many mattress options.

Helix mattresses that are hybrids have more air circulation because of their coil cores. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

You can leave the mattress open for a few hours if the smell bothers you.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideYou can sleep comfortably on your side if you find the right combination of support and cushioning in a mattress. For proper alignment and relief of strain, the hips and shoulders should be free to sink into a mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. For those who want a cozier environment, the Moonlight is an excellent choice.

Side sleepers between 130 and 220 pounds can use the Midnight or Dusk, which are firm and comfortable. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

The Plus and, to a lesser extent, the Twilight, are the best options if you are a side sleeper who weighs more over 230 pounds. This model’s firmer feel will help side sleepers not sink too deeply into their bed. The Helix Dynamic Foam layer gives cushioning and bounce, and since the Plus is designed for bigger persons, the foam comfort layers provide the necessary cradling that relieves pressure on the shoulders and hips.

Back Sleepers

Back sleepers likewise want a mix of support and contouring, but they want less cushioning than side sleepers do.

Back sleeping is more difficult than usual. You need extra support in the lumbar and back regions to prevent your spine from sinking. Your spine will be fairly even if your back is positioned on the bed.

This is why side sleepers prefer mattresses that are firmer, but not as rigid as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight is a good option for back sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. This mattress provides the perfect amount of support and cushioning for back sleepers.

People who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds have many options. Back sleepers who fall within this weight range may be able to use the Plus or Twilight. Both provide enough plushness to cushion the spine and great support for the lower back. Dusk and Dawn both offer excellent support and are firm but not too firm.

The Plus and Twilight mattresses are excellent options for those who weigh over 230lbs who sleep on the back. To prevent hips from sinking into the mattress, they provide great support for the weight range.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach-sleepers are more likely than other sleepers to place greater strain on their mattresses. They also tend to sink deeper than those in other positions. If they sink too far, they run the risk of pushing their spines out their normal alignment. This could lead to aches and pains later. These stomach sleepers should have a mattress that’s firmer, supportive, and provides enough support to maintain their spine alignment.

Helix versions that are firmer will be more comfortable for stomach-sleepers, who require a level surface in order to maintain their spinal alignment. People who are more than 130 lbs and who wish to sleep well may choose the Plus or Dawn. The central region of the mattress is sturdy enough to reduce the possibility of excessive weight loss thanks to their hardness and support. To provide stomach sleepers with this weight, a cushion which is comfortable will be sufficient.

Because it feels medium-firm, The Midnight is ideal for stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 lbs. Heavy people may sink too much. For stomach sleepers who are lighter in weight, especially those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds, the Twilight may also be appropriate.
