Helix produces the Sunset. Helix considers side sleepers when designing the Sunsets, Midnights, and Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk and Dawn are designed with stomach sleepers and backs in mind. The Plus is especially made for those who are bigger. Helix creates each mattress to fit specific weight categories and sleeping positions. However, it may be appreciated by some who like its feel.

Except for the Plus, all models are available in the normal and luxe editions. Optional, the update expands the coil system in order to provide zonal Lumbar Support to improve spinal alignment. Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideHelix mattresses are great at keeping you from moving. A lot of movement is often absorbed by foam layers. However, the comfort layers’ latex-like, polyfoam is more springy than regular memory foam. Due to the springiness emanating form the coil’s core, it is possible to sense your partner moving throughout the night.

Dusk, Sunset have the highest motion absorption of any Helix model due to their memory foam layers.

Two comfort layers are included in the Plus, which keep most coil motions from reaching its springy coil core.

You may experience less vibration on the mattress’ surface.

The quantity of noise that is transferred over the mattress is reduced as a result. Motion transmission is modest during moonlight, dawn, and midnight, which might lessen the impact of your partner’s movements on your ability to sleep.

Pressure Relief

Helix mattresses reduce pressure. This is partly due to the Helix mattress’ layers of memory foam, pocketed coils, and polyfoam. The foam allows deep relaxation and self-cradling which may reduce pressure on pressure points like the hips, shoulders and hips. Side sleepers (or anyone below 130 lbs) have specific needs. Softer mattresses are more suitable for side sleepers and those who weigh less than 130 lbs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for people who sleep on their stomachs, back, or who weigh more that 230 pounds.

The best relief from pressure is found in the moonlight and dusk. The Plus is specifically designed for those who are heavier and can help alleviate pressure points. Due to Twilight and Dawn’s more intense sensations, sleepers will be less likely to experience pressure points. This can reduce the effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

Helix mattresses perform about average in hybrids for cooling down when it comes sleeping.

Memory foam mattresses can cause you to feel warm as you sleep. The mattress often stores heat and keeps it. To counter heat loss, the coils of these mattresses allow air to flow through to aid in cooling.

The Dawn’s firmness as well as its lack of sinkage makes it feel cooler than other types. To aid heat dissipation, two cooling covers are included in the Plus.

Edge Support

Each Helix model features an encasement that’s strengthened in the coil’s core. Because of this, sinkage is less when a person lies down or sits on the edge. However, owing in large part to the quality of the construction and stiffness, each model has a varying level of edge support.

Twilight and Dawn, for instance, offer excellent edge support thanks to their sturdy designs. Because to their sturdy build, they also provide superb edge support. Additionally, Dusk, Midnight, and Plus provide sufficient support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight & Sunset are the most extravagant models. These mattresses will allow you to sink less or stay close to the edge. They offer the most edge support among all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The model’s design is what sets it apart from other classes. Because of the sinking Moonlight and setting sun, it is very difficult to walk on the surface.

Twilight models and Dawn models feel more firm and pleasant. It is considerably simpler to shift about and get out of bed with the Dawn and Twilight models’ powerful pushback against the body.

The Line with Plus’s plush comfort system with two layers may make it more difficult to move, but the firmness of the mattress still allows for enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses have coil cores that provide spring and bounce, which couples often enjoy when having sex. The mattress’s design will determine how the foam layers affect the sexual experience.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight have smooth surfaces that make moving around easier, making them excellent choices for couples. Also, while dusk, night, and plus are great times to have sex, moonlight and sunset can make it more difficult. These models have soft, plush surfaces that can restrict movement.

Off-Gassing

All Helix models initially have the standard amount of “new mattress scent,” which is present with all foam mattresses.

This is a common smell that is considered to be safe and usually disappears within a few days. Helix offers several mattress options.

Helix mattresses are hybrids. Their coil cores allow more air to circulate across the bed because they have multiple coils. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

You can leave the mattress open for a few hours if the smell bothers you.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideTo sleep well on your side, you need a mattress that offers the right balance of support and cushioning. For proper alignment and relief of strain, the hips and shoulders should be free to sink into a mattress. Mattresses with a “medium” feel, closer to the soft end of the range, are often preferred by side sleepers.

Side bed sleepers weighing less than 130 lbs will appreciate the soft padding in the Moonlight or Dusk models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

The Midnight and Dusk models are best for side sleepers weighing between 130-230 pounds. Models’ combination of support and contouring will appeal to most sleepers who are in this weight range.

If you are a side sleeping person who weighs more than 230lbs, the Plus, and to a lesser extent the Twilight, are your best options. People who fall into this category of side sleepers will feel the models’ firmer feeling and not sink too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic foam layer provides bounce and cushioning, while the Plus model is for larger persons. The foam comfort layers provide support and cushioning, as well as the relief of pressure on the hips, shoulders, and hips.

Back Sleepers

Side sleepers need less cushioning but still require support.

Back sleeping typically requires a bit extra support and hardness, especially in the lumbar region to prevent sinking too deeply and causing spinal misalignment. The posture of your back on the bed ensures that your spine is reasonably even.

This is why back sleepers often choose mattresses that are firmer than those preferred by side sleepers but not as stiff as those preferred by stomach sleepers.

The Midnight is a good option for back sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. This mattress provides the perfect amount of support and cushioning for back sleepers.

A wide variety of options are available for those who weigh between 130 – 230 lbs. These people might like the Plus or Twilight for their back. Both offer enough cushioning to cushion the spine, and support for the lower back. Due to their reliable support and reasonable firmness, they are both Dusk and Dawn are also excellent.

The Plus, Twilight and Dawn are great choices for those who sleep on their backs and weigh more than 230 pounds. These mattresses provide support for all weight categories to prevent hips sinking into the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach-sleepers are more likely than other sleepers to place greater strain on their mattresses. They also tend to sink deeper than those in other positions. If they fall too far, it can cause their spines to shift out of alignment. It could cause aches or pains in the future. Ultimately, stomach sleepers need a mattress that is firmer, more supportive, and has enough push-back to keep their backs in alignment.

For stomach sleepers who need a flat surface to maintain proper spine alignment, the firmer Helix models will be more comfortable. Those who weigh more than 130 pounds who want to sleep well might choose the Plus and Dawn. Because they are strong and supportive, the central portion of the mattress will reduce the chance of you losing weight. A cushion that is supportive and comfortable will offer the support stomach sleepers of this weight range need.

Because it feels medium-firm, The Midnight is ideal for stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 lbs. However, heavier people will sink too far. The Twilight might be suitable for stomach sleepers with lighter weights, particularly those who weigh between 130-230 pounds.
