Queen Mattress Helix

Helix Sunset & Helix Moonlight: These are the softest models from the manufacturer. Helix Midnight and Helix Dusk are two examples of medium models. Helix Sunset Helix Twilight Helix Dawn and Helix Plus are the most used models. Helix Plus is the firmest model in the Helix Plus line.

The Sunset is produced by Helix. Helix considers side sleepers when designing the Sunsets, Midnights, and Twilight. Lunar Light Midnight, Dusk and Dawn are designed with stomach sleepers and backs in mind. The Plus is specially designed for people who are larger. While Helix designs each mattress with certain weight categories and sleep positions in mind, some people may also like the way it feels.

Except for the Plus, all models are available in the normal and luxe editions. This update is optional and extends coil support to provide zonal back support, which aids in better spinal alignment. This is accomplished by supporting the hips while allowing the shoulders to descend farther. To give the cushion a plush feeling, the Luxe version of the top quilt is applied to it. Tencel covers promote ventilation and moisture removal. Along with the 10-year guarantee, the upgrade also includes a 15-year warranty.

The Dawn, Dusk and Midnight versions, Sunset, Moonlight, Sunset, Twilight, and Midnight versions are each 12 inches thick. The luxury versions are 14 inch thick. Plus is also 13 inches thick. Since Helix mattresses may be high-profile, you might need to have large pockets.

Helix Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

helix-dawn-sideThe majority of Helix mattresses are excellent at preventing movement. Foam layers can absorb much of the movement. However, comfort layers’ latex-like memory foam is much springier than regular memory foam. Due to the coil’s springiness, you might be able to see your partner’s movements throughout their night.

Dusk/Sunset absorb the most motion due to their memory foam layers, which are softer than the other Helix models.

The Plus features two comfort layers, which stop most coil motions contacting the mattress’ springy core.

Therefore, vibrations may be less likely to travel across the mattress’s surface.

As a consequence, noise transmission is decreased over the mattress. The amount of motion transmission during the moonlight, dawn and midnight is very low, which may lessen your ability to go to sleep.

Pressure Relief

One of the benefits of Helix mattresses is pressure reduction, which is partly attributable to the layers of memory foam, polyfoam, and pocketed coils. The foam enables deep relaxation and self-cradling, which may help take some of the pressure off of pressure points like the hips and shoulders. The demands of side sleepers or anyone under 130 lbs. Softer mattresses will be more accommodating to their needs. Firmer mattresses are recommended for those who prefer to sleep on their stomachs or backs or for those who weigh over 230 pounds.

The moonlight, sunset, sunrise, and night are the best times to relieve pressure. This is partly due to the plusher surfaces. The Plus is made especially for those who weigh more, and it may effectively alleviate pressure spots for people who sleep in this category. Twilight’s stronger sensation will cause sleepers to be more resistant to pressure points, which can decrease the efficacy and effectiveness of these products.

Temperature Control

When it comes to sleeping cool, Helix mattresses perform around average for hybrids.

The memory foam mattress has a reputation for making you feel heated while you sleep since it often captures and holds onto heat all night. But these mattresses’ coils allow air to flow through them to assist counteract heat loss.

The Dawn is more comfortable because of its firmness and lack sinkage. The Plus includes two cooling covers to help with heat dissipation.

Edge Support

Every Helix model comes with an encasement which is reinforced within the core of the coil. It reduces sinkage when people sit or lay on the edges of their beds. Each model, however, has a different degree of edge support. This is due in large part to its quality and stiffness.

The Dawn and Twilight, for example, provide excellent edge support due to their strong design. Their sturdy construction provides excellent edge support. Dusk or Midnight, plus provide adequate support for the edges.

Moonlight the Moonlight and Sunset are the most luxurious models. They offer more support for your spine, while also allowing you to sleep closer to the edge. They offer the most edge support among all Helix mattresses.

Ease of Movement

The ease of movement is primarily determined by the model’s quality. It is hard to walk on the ground due to the sinking Moonlight, which is softer than the Sun.

Twilight and Dawn models however, feel firmer and more comfortable. It is considerably simpler to shift about and get out of bed with the Dawn and Twilight models’ powerful pushback against the body.

Although the Line with the Plus’s two-layer comfort system makes it a bit more difficult to move around on than other hybrids due to its firmness, the bed still offers enough movement.

Sex

Helix mattresses are known for their coil cores which provide some spring and bounce. Many couples enjoy Helix mattress sex. The level of conforming or sinking of the foam layers can affect how sexual experiences are enhanced or diminished depending on the mattress design.

The Helix Dawn and Twilight’s smooth surfaces make moving about simpler, making them the best options for couples. Also, while dusk, night, and plus are great times to have sex, moonlight and sunset can make it more difficult. These models have plush, soft surfaces that may restrict motion.

Off-Gassing

Helix models have the same amount of “new mattress smell” as all foam mattresses.

This is a common smell that is considered to be safe and usually disappears within a few days. Helix offers many different mattress options.

Helix hybrid mattresses have coil cores that allow for more air to flow across the entire bed. The result is that odors are less likely to persist than with an all foam mattress.

If you are bothered by the smell, you can choose to expose the mattress in a well-ventilated area for a few more hours.

Helix Sleeping Style and Body Weight

Side Sleepers

Helix-sunset-sideThe key to a good night’s sleep is finding the right mattress that provides the perfect balance of support and cushioning. To alleviate strain and align your spine, you need your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress. Side sleepers prefer mattresses with a medium feel. These are closer to the soft end.

Side sleepers with a weight below 130 pounds will appreciate the plush padding offered by the Moonlight, Dusk, and Moonlight models. The Moonlight is the best option for those who desire a cozier setting.

The fairly firm Midnight and Dusk are best suited for side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. The majority of sleepers in this weight range will enjoy the models’ blend of powerful contouring and support.

The Plus and, to a lesser extent, the Twilight, are the best options if you are a side sleeper who weighs more over 230 pounds. These models’ firmer feel will keep folks who fall into this type of side sleepers from sinking too deep into their beds. Helix Dynamic Foam provides cushioning and bounce. The Plus is made for larger people. The foam comfort layers provide the needed cradling to relieve pressure on the hips and shoulders.

Back Sleepers

The same goes for back sleepers. However, they need more support and contouring than side sleepers.

To avoid spinal misalignment and sinking, back sleeping requires some extra support. Your spine will be fairly even if your back is positioned on the bed.

This is why back sleepers choose mattresses that have a firmer feel than side sleepers and not as stiff as stomach sleepers.

The Midnight might be the best option for back-sleepers under 130 pounds depending on their needs. It provides the ideal amount to support this sleeping position and offers cushioning.

The options are endless for people who weigh between 130 and 220 pounds. Back sleepers with this weight might find the Plus or Twilight suitable. Both offer enough cushioning to cushion the spine, and support for the lower back. Dusk and Dawn are equally excellent for their support and firmness.

The Plus, Twilight or Dawn are great options if you weigh more than 220 pounds and prefer to sleep on your back. They provide excellent support to the weight range and prevent your hips from sinking in the mattress.

Stomach Sleepers

Because torsos typically bear the bulk of a person’s weight, Stomach sleepers tend to be more prone to sinking than other positions, putting greater pressure on their mattresses. If they are too far down, their spines could become twisted and form a U-shaped shape. Later aches and pains may result from this. The bottom line is that stomach sleepers need a mattress which is firmer, more supportive and offers enough support to align their backs.

Helix models with a firmer surface will be the most comfortable for stomach sleepers. This is because they require a level surface for proper spinal alignment. If you are over 130 pounds, the Plus or Dawn might be the best option for you. The central region of the mattress is sturdy enough to reduce the possibility of excessive weight loss thanks to their hardness and support. Comfortable cushions will provide the support that stomach-sleepers in this weight range require.

Because it feels medium firm, the Midnight is best for stomach sleepers weighing less than 130lbs. However, heavier people will sink too far. The Twilight may also work well for stomach sleepers of lighter weight, especially those weighing between 130 and 230lbs.
