GhostBed Mattress Firmness And Feel
How is the firmness of this mattress? GhostBed mattress?
In terms of firmness, we put the GhostBed in the middle of our scale. That means that it provides plenty of pressure relief-an essential for side sleepers or people who suffer from chronic pain. Although GhostBed isn’t the most firm mattress, we still think it has pretty good support, especially due to that latex-based foam layer.
Keep in mind that the level of firmness depends on your body type. We’ll get to that later but for now, know that it’s a medium on our scale.
How does the GhostBed feel?
While GhostBed is topped by a layer of latex foams, we actually consider that the entire bed is a mix of three different foams instead of feeling like that top foam layer.
It is a mixed-foam feeling. Surprisingly, the GhostBed mattress is somewhat slow to bounce back once depressed (if you press down firmly).
Usually, latex beds are spongy in nature which gives them a great responsiveness, but it seems that the central layers of memory foam are trumping that characteristic of the GhostBed.
GhostBed Mattress Construction
GhostBed is an all-foam mattress that is made up of polyfoam latex foam and memory foam. When broken down, you will receive three layers (one layer of each foam) as you see in the side view below.
The foundation layer on the} GhostBed mattress is 7.5″ of high-density polyurethane foam. Because it’s that thick, you’ll get ample cushioning from the mattress.
Its base GhostBed mattress comprise 7.5″ of high-density polyurethane foam. Because it’s that thick, you’ll get ample support from this mattress.
Next, we have} a 2″ layer of gel memory foam, which is supposed to help with temperature regulation and to be a bridge between the top and bottom layers.
Next, we have an additional 2″ Gel memory foam layer which is supposed to help in temperature regulation as well as serve as a transition between the top and bottom layers.
The top of the GhostBed mattress is an 1.5″ layer of aerated latex foam. Latex foam is a spongier-feeling material that allows for good airflow and gives the bed some bounce.
The top of the GhostBed mattress is the top 1.5″ thickness of aerated latex foam. The latex foam has a soft, softer material that allows for good airflow and provides the bed with bounce.
The cover of the GhostBed is constructed of a polyester/viscose blend. It’s not anything extraordinary, but we’ve no complaints other the fact that it can get dirtier and more quickly than other covers. The cover can be removed (as is the case with most mattress covers) However, it’s not machine washable, which is why we don’t actually suggest that you ever take it off. It’s not really needed and can be quite an inconvenience. If you do need to clean up–perhaps it was because you spilled breakfast before going to the bed, just grab a clean cloth and some water that is warm with mild detergent. Dab onto the spot until it comes out.

GhostBed Mattress Performance
We found it to be the case that Ghostbed mattress offers decent pressure relief — which is crucial when you’re a side sleeper. It’s due for the layer of memory foam, that cradles your body to alleviate pressure points. Remember, anyone above 160 lb will experience greater relief from pressure than petite folks.
GhostBed does not sleep hot, per se, but it doesn’t really sleep cool either. The company claims the gel memory foam it uses is designed be able to help keep your bed cooler and, perhaps it does, but it doesn’t keep the bed actually cool to the touch.
We’re referring to the GhostBed to be a mattress with a temperature neutral. It isn’t going to cause you to sweat during the night however, it also isn’t going to cause you to feel cold. Also, the lighter you are, the more you will rest on top of the mattress (and latex foam) and, therefore it will feel cooler. If you’re overweight then you’ll sink more and might sleep a bit warmer.
Edge support is a crucial measurement of the mattress’s performance for those who share beds. We’ve all seen the scenario when sleeping with someone else. It usually leads to one of the partners ending being pushed to the side of the mattress while the other hogs the middle. This is the place edge support comes into play. Edge support
GhostBed has an excellent edge support. So, if that does happen it’s at least that unfortunate sleeper will not feel like they’re about to roll off the bed.
Motion isolation is the term used to describe how well the mattress limits cross-bed motion. Motion isolation is a good thing because the motion of one person’s turning and tossing isn’t felt by the other. GhostBed does an excellent job of limiting the transfer of motion, so you can get up to watch midnight reruns of Seinfeld If that’s what you’d like to do. Simply keep the volume at a minimum and your bedmate will be asleep for the entire time.
Is GhostBed a good mattress for couples?
Yes, we think it’s a great mattress for people who sleep with a loved one or a large, well-loved pet. The two features we like to highlight for couples are the edge support and motion isolation. The GhostBed mattress has passed all of our tests. We would definitely suggest this mattress for couples.

GhostBed Review Verdict
GhostBed is our favorite mattress in the world. It’s a comfortable mattress and is suitable for all sleeper types. We can understand why so many users on the internet appear to love it. We are pleased to see the addition of latex foam to provide support. Not all mattresses have it and we think it’s an absolute benefit.
It’s also about 1” thicker than similar foam beds and costs under $1,200 for the queen-sized (which is pretty hard to beat when it comes to latex). The Ghostbed Luxe Mattress King
